I understand where you are coming from Jacob, but this is the internet. People dont treat each other the same over the digital world compared to the real world.

I can imagine that all of these haters would never say the same thing in person to someone. But they can get away with it here. Personally, I just view most of the shit talk as funny and not really seeing it as a serious burn.
 
This thread isn't a skicky for the simple reason that it's by a pro. It's because of the resoponses it's gotten. Granted, the response wouldn't be this way if it wasn't a big name in this sport.

I agree with him, this site has gotten pretty rediculous with the contant hate and bandwagoning, but once you look past the shit, this is a great site.

Let's make it so we don't have to look through the shit to see the good stuff.

If your going to get all bent out of shape because someone calls you a fag for wearing tight pants than you shouldn't be on here in the first place. Especially considering that there is a 95% chance that the person that talked shit to you in the first place isn't even in high school yet and doesn't know how to spell sponcurred.

People have been hating on NS and quoting how it is nothing but a community of hate since ever fucking 2000-2001 when this site was in its PRIME. Ever since there has been more than a thousand members there have been arrogant members claiming that they'll never come on this site ever again and that they hate it. If thats the case, maybe you haven't realized something, you are the problem! If your busy hating and saying how much NS sucks you are doing nothing more than perpetuating this idea. Stick around and contribute in a positive manner even if that means not posting in the major forums or whatever. These days I find that the majority of my posts find their way into cult forums, but you don't see me bitching and moaning about how NS is filled with hateful scum.

I dont understand why you would just quit the site. thats like givin up on 100% of your fans. instead of being like i am out, this site has changed, why dont you do somethin about it and make suggestions and or moderate the forums. you can't compare, Jacob is way more famous than Ahmet. I don't think anybody has heard of Ahmet in Sweden, well not yet at least.

And another thing...I owe a lot to this website..It has given me a place to congregate, it has given me exposure, it has allowed me to socialize with some of the big names in the sport, which in turn has gotten me where I am today with skiing...You are correct, it is: just a website, but if you here from day 1 like you say, you would know that 4 years ago it was a totally different place...a place where EVERYONE went when they were done skiing...where you could have intellegent conversations and argue like rational people...not a kindercare for 10 year olds who probably don't even ski yet.

The point is that Jacob isn't just leaving as boldly as he said, he's coming back on and looking at the message replys he's gotten. If he's going to start the whole shit-fight, he may as well stick around and talk it out with everyone else.

Wester is just ONE out of however many members, but he's a big pro now, and he just condemned this site, which is Doug's life as of right now. Doug has every right to call him out on being a creep about it, it's his source of income. If Jacob really wanted to help out, he would have done so, not just started some stupid internet drama that strokes his sensitivity, lol.
