[claim] I just got invited to UVM with basically full ride. [/claim]

most likely headed there if I don't get into middlebury or colorado college. CHYEA. SO STOKED. Time to dominate SAT subject tests tomorrow :P

that's sick man. congratss. scholarships are always good. Im enjoying mine, but its a bitch to keep my gpa up.

congrats dude! a full ride thats awesome!

i just got into uvm as well, but trying to go to colorado college too!

why would you come to east when the skiing is a lot better in

washington. and if its not because of skiing, then why would you go to

hickass vermont?

because school is way more important than skiing to me. I don't think I'm going to UVM but I at least have the option in case my family's finances are as low as they are now. In that situation, I will definitely need the tuition to be low.

I want to go to a good to great school academically where there is a great vibe and decent skiing. U Washington is much too large for that and UVM is perfect, and I like the UVM atmosphere a lot more than any of the "little ivy" schools I'm applying to like middlebury or bates (#1 and #2 on my list, respectively. UVM is a safety). If I wanted to be a ski bum I'd have forgotten about getting a PhD or even going to a boarding school like I am now.

I like learning. Call me a nerd, but school is definitely interesting to me at times, and I want to go to a place that I can really have a good time in and also learn from the best. So far I can't really find a school like that out west other than Lewis and Clark and that really doesn't interest me.

that's the right attitude to have about school. props on the full ride. if you do get into middlebury, i would go though. just as close to skiing as uvm and one of the best academic climates around. especially if you want to study languages.

grats man. Thats a solid list too. Middlebury is a great school, all their programs are stellar. Bates is also up there for sure. Im applying to Bates too, along with Bowdoin and Colby. maine ftw haha

I know you're stoked, but there is no reason to make a thread. Lots of people on NS got into college. If everyone made a thread about it, it would be ridiculous. And, from the sounds of it, you sound like a good student so I don't think you weren't going to make it into college.

well I actually wasn't quite sure whether I could go to college this year with such high tuition costs. sooo let me bask in my glory

congrats on teh scholar ship. I am applying to Colorado College to. but I probably wont get in, thats the most competitive school I am applying to.

I think I have a 3.75 GPA, but I'm not completely sure. this is without APs or honors counting for a 5.0 so the highest I could get is a 4.0...I would have higher if it were for that.

I got a 2080 on my SATs. I got the scholarships mostly for community service though, I've logged a lot of hours in because of boy scouts and volunteering in the homeless shelters and trail cleanups at mt rainier national park and stuff.

holy shit dude good for you...good school plus good skiing thats a great deal. I go to Plattsburgh and travel to Whiteface lots per week put my work ethic isnt half yours, probably about 10%, my grades suck, but im still enrolled..YESSS!! good for you tho especially for a full ride

I am just trying to get into college. I think I have all As for this semester right now and I will do good on my SATs so hopefully I can get into a decent place.
