I have been looking for some new skis lately, i am now riding a pair of line mike nick pro skiboards size 98 and there bulletproof gold binding, but i wanna step up and im sick of skiboard bindings too, i know that line has step ins but i wanna move into about a size 134? im about 5'5 and 125lbs, i have basically made my desicion on a pair of dynastar trouble makers in a size 134 for $135. but if someone has a pair of twin tip skis about that size that they wanna sell just email me and send me a price and picture of them at quiksilver2130@hotmail.com

At what length do skiboards turn into skis? 130 might still be in skiboard range. That's a grey area.

how about someone, a real skiier tell me the difference between a set of trouble makers in 141 that i can get for around 135 and a set of mike nick pro skis in 171 for 550?

 
those little trouble makers are a junior ski which means they're soft as hell and really not that great quality...

You could go for some 165 Line 1260s. Trust me - the length might be awkward at first, but with a little work you'll come to love it.

im about 120 pounds and i ride 170 AR5 and 164 1260 and it isnt that hard, with 135 you could be doing 540s on the ground, you measure skis more by weight then height

if your gonna make the switch seriously get real skis. if ride hard at all you'll prob snap those junior TM's right in half. go with something in the 160-165 range. maybe try looking around for an old pair of the candide pros(the dynastar ones from like three years ago) they come in 165 and they would be dirt cheap, perfect for starting off skiing. if not those look for 160 line mavericks they are also a few years old and will be dirt cheap, and perfect for you. the length will be tough at first if you've never skied before in your life but don't get shook and just stick with it. you'll thank yourself in the long run, trust me.

GET a ski that is the same height as you give or take alittle. its not kool to ride ski blades a 141 is basically a ski blade. you'll get no where

 
those fujatives sound real good, from what I read (your posts) they aren't too expensive and they will be so much more stable than those funny looking skiblades. You can also go much faster and landings will be easier

dont get anything under 160 in length, they arent gonna be stable and its really not much harder to maneuver a longer ski. It'll save you some criticism too

well, dont bother with all the assholes on this site, you start to just ignore them. Sounds to me like you are about 12-14 years old, not trying to be mean, just saying this because that means you are gonna be growing fast and soon. so you are gonna want to get a ski that you can use for awhile unless you plan to buy new skis every year fot the next few years.

SO with saying that, you are not gonna want to buy a twin tip under 160. at your height a 160 would be perfect, but your still a lightweight so i wouldnt recomment going anything over a 172 because they would be hard to control.

Where do you ski? and how long have you been skiing? Depending on how agressive you are, and taking from what you said, seems like you havent really ever been skiing, but thats ok. So i would suggest getting something around 160.

Also sounds like money is gonna be an issue, so at the time try looking at getting a pair of last year skis, you can get a great deal on old stock and there are always tons of left over skis in your size. I wouldnt buy a pair of junior skis because you will realize soon how much they will hold you back. So i would suggest looking into either a pair of Line 1260's, 1080's, or fugitives. you can get any one of these skis for under 350

I'm not sure what is worse, skiboarding or riding 134s when you are 5'5 125 or whatever you said. Definately go like 160.
