I'm looking for a playful pow ski...

I want a more jib orientated pow ski for messing around on, i'm on the east and usally dont get any epically deep days so I really dont need a waist over 120ish. Right now I'm looking at the JJ, caylor, and one life. I'm 5'11 140. Any reviews or suggestions would be great, thanks

I ride 191 Caylors such a fun ski, able to charge whilst still be jibby and fun, they also handle variable snow pretty well. You may also want to look into the rocker2 122s, softer than the Caylors and not quite as 'chargey' (at least on back to back skiing between 191 Caylors and 184 Rocker2). There is a review of the ON3P Caylor and the 2013 Rocker2 122 on the blog quoted in my sig.

i'm going to put in a vote for JJ's. I really like the tight turn radius for now powder. They seemed light to me, and you can check the video in my profile to see that they're flexy, and watch me double eject lol.

Looking at last years hellbent right now because I can get it pretty cheap, it's got a pretty wide waist so how does it perform in everything else besides blower pow?

this. i have them, they have a 122 waist and they are super playful, they are pretty soft so butters come like nothing, but they are still able to be used on groomers and are stable for higher speeds

I've only ridden them once so i cant speak to their durability but

armada ARV's are probably wide enough for the east coast and theyre pretty playful

one life, one time, opus, sfbs, petitors, fujas, jeffreys, jmos, pbj, bridge, prime, so many to choose

If you're already looking for jj, you won't be dissapointed. Skis somewhat shorter and is really playfull. However, just liike wilhaman said, the arv might be enough. Can take them easily into the park too. Have the money? Take the jj, youlll enjoy them fo sure

the Joystick Theese Skis are what you are looking for

i just got 2012 gypsys and ive ridden my 09/10 bents since they first came out.

i havent skied the icelantics yet but here are a few key differences ive noticed.

hellbent has a continuous flex pattern throughout the ski. the gypsy is way stiffer underfoot and soften up in the tip and the tails. you can even see the differences in core construction when you hold the topsheet at the proper angle.

hellbents are overall a much softer ski, its not even close. i can bend my bents to pretty much form a letter C shape. no way thats happening with the gypsys

the bents rocker makes the gypsys rocker look like a joke. the bents are just absolute monsters in the reverse camber department.

over all the bents will be a better pow ski, the gypsys will be a better over all ski which will still completely own the pow even if you dont know what youre doing. they will be a lot better in the crud and chopped up shit because of the stiff flex.

loved my surface LL2's, had some fks 155's on them soo light and enjoyable

and you can get them for 300 new (one life is the new name right?)

The one life is super duper fun to ski. Its a pretty stiff ski so it charges hard. Yet the insane rocker makes your tips never dive. Its super nimble, and even in tight trees. The rocker lets you set spins super easy off things, and the crazy looking rocker gets people talking to ya all the time in the lift lines. Every time you go up the lift somebody will comment on why your skis look so weird.

Liberty Double Helix 182, light and snappy bamboo core and they can handle the hard pack and crud just like thay can handle waist deep pow.

so true, hellbents are insanely flexible, and the rocker is just amazing hhow much of it there is, you can pretty much nose butter in foot deep pow and your tips are still above the snow
