I'm in such a great mood, because I got to jib last night.

Best therapy there is!!! Nothing sick yet. This was our first actual session. It took awhile to get the speed figured out. This was my first time on PVC, and it was fun. Haven't figured out the grip yet, but hopefully will be able to kfed by the time the snow starts falling.

News Flash: This shit's fun even when you're 43. We'll be doing a serious video session in awhile that I'm hoping will be epic.

god its not fair. i wish my parents were so anal about the grass dying. then maybe i would be having just as much fun as a 43 year old ripper. but kudos to u man. keep shralpin.

yeah it is pretty weird at first, you get the hang of it

and stoked to see you out there at 43, that's awesome

Yeah man thats sick to be out there jibbing at 43...I wish my dad did that. Im really stoked for my jib im about to build...just tested out the speed tonight on some tarp, its gonna be SIKK!

Seriously; say, "that's OK mom and dad, I really feel like smoking some crack with my friends anyway".

As a dad, I think about all the stupid shit I used to do that could and sometimes did land me in the hospital, and I'm terrified that my kids are going to do the same or dumber things. Parents please spend a couple hundred bucks and a little of your time and help your kids build backyard setups. It's much better than either having your kids spend hours a day in front of a Playstation, or having them come up with other high adrenaline activities that could get them killed.

We used to skitch in Vail when there was snow on the roads. You'd hold onto the bumper of a car and slide behind it with slick shoes on. Then a kid in Summit County thought it would be fun to tie a rope to the bumper and get towed in one of those old saucer sleds. The car went around a corner and the kid swung out into oncoming traffic. Game over.

Don't take this the wrong way, but everyone on NS is like a gymnast from the planet Krypton. It's amazing to me that so many NSers barely in their teens can do so many cool non upright tricks. There were a handful of guys I knew in high school that could do flips on skis, and about the same that could spin more than a 3. In my 20's I was one of about 5 guys that skied Vail who could do a 7. Now there are 12 year olds throwing 9's and it is so cool to see. Air awareness is a great thing. Probably everyone on this site is going to have something stupid happen to them that has nothing to do with skiing. Your going to fall off a roof, or a ladder or get thrown off your bike. The awareness of where your body is in the air when that happens will probably be the difference between a broken leg and fractured neck.

There are so many good reasons to help your kids build a setup. Sorry folks but fuck the grass!!!!

geez. if you were here right now i would shake your hand.

next time i ask them if i can build a jib and they say no.

im just gonna say, see ya later while i go get high.

and then probably get the shit kicked out of me. but ehh. its worth a try

I'm getting a little choked up. Thx all for the + vibes. The main thing is to tout the benefits of summer jibbing for mood enhancement. Also, if you've never walked down a suburban street at 10:00 PM in August with skis on your shoulder, I highly recommend it. If your lucky someone will drive by with a really confused look on their face.

Seriously, if anyone is having a hard time convincing their parents to let them build a summer set up, I can write up an official looking letter that may help. It's worth a shot anyway.

now im sad, cause i didnt get to jib last night.

but freal, props to Mr.Huck for beein down to earth.

you should see the looks we get when we hang out outside the jibyard.
that's such a great philosophy, hopefully i remember this and can be thoughtful enough to raise kids up like that one day. My dad was certainly all about his grass as well.

ive met this guy!!! /claim hahabut for cereal..... totally agree. although much of my grass has died from the soap we used in mine haha

Nice one Mr Huck

Sounds like you had a ripper time

I think it begs the question what would you prefer:

- awesome late night urban or terrible sex?
