I'm in pain...

This is for all beginner skiers out there.

So I was at a small ski center yesterday having fun in the park. The snow was really soft and the jumps were great.

I aligned myself with the final jump (50 feet long with a good kick) and pushed to go big. I noticed that a newb cut the jump and pushed all the snow off the landing and even further(I didn't know that yet).Like the snow changed, my speed also changed, I was going faster than usual. I went huge. After the 3, I noticed that I overshot the jump. I nailed the landing, but the ice did not forgive.

So here I am with a bumbed heel talking about my experience. Now I have an idea what Tanner went through.

Now for the moral, for all beginners out here, don't ever get on a big jump or on a table if you cannot go in a strait line. And for more experienced riders, tell the newbs to get out of the park because they will hurt someone (like me). Made our parks safer!!!!!!!!

no offense man but you are bitching about keeping the parks safe and not getting hurt... well it is your responsibility as a skier/rider to know the condition of what you are hitting, not just go at it from one day to another like it didn't change. Maybe some newb did cut up the lip... well then go and slip it out and then hit it. Sounds like you were going too fast regardless of what happened to the jump and unless you shattered both ankles/heels and compressed your whole body hitting a 120 gap doing like 55 mph I dont think you know what tanner went through...

yeah, well i fell today so im gonna blame that on all the kids in the park before me cause they probably left tracks that tripped me up or something like that. shit

Oh, ok... did you read what everyone is saying.. or did you just read the topic and post blindly. Because this thread has really just ignored the "I'm in pain" idea and moved on to not whining/blaming (not to say that you are blaming).

newschoolers is a shitshow and its much more fun to hijack threads for your own purpose than go along with whatever crap kids are saying

I bruised my heel at the begging of the season and i missed 5 days of skiing and i could hit jumps for another 5 or 6 it sucked

that sucks a lot dude, but i dont think that both of your ankles are broken leaving you totally out of commision for a long long time.

im sorry to hear about your injury, and pissed that this happens all the time in parks, but you cant compare undershooting a 120 foot gap to overshooting a 50

sorry to hear that bro, im not very good at park myself, but i start on smaller jumps and work my way up, i hit jumps straight on, i know what youre talking about and i have seen tons of newbs come and hit jumps in cazy ways from all sorts of directions, totally clueless that it might affect the way the jump launches the skier or that they might ruin the landing.

i did practically exactly what tanner went through. except from 3 storeys. 30ft. i scorpioned and everything. but further more, how do you think Marc B feels right now?

i used to bruise my heels all the time from shit like that. but then i started wearing my boots tighter and rocking serious gel heels and it's been all good since then

I am just saying that ice is a dangerous thing. Yes, I did misjudge my speed but if the snow on the flat was softer, I wouldn't be posting this thread. I am just trying to say that parks could be safer if we keep unsafe people out of it.

I overshot many jumps in my life. But this is the first time that I brused a heel.I compared my accident to Tanner's. I am suffering a lot less than he did, but it still hurts like hell.

And to the people that told me I was a winny bitch, how about learning to ski, it shows that you have never skied a jump in your life.

maybe it was snowboarders fault, they tend to srap away alot of the landings (newbie ones especially) and even the mgood ones can destroy the lips when they carve to start spinning. Conditions change it sucks but that is the reality of it.

Think of the good points, It could been worse, and the season is almost over.

If I landed like u did I'd have severe knee dammage for sure and maybe a broken head or

worse. Its only a bruise so it will get better pretty soon! However still sorry to hear that cause injury's suck thats for sure!

what hurts even more is when you hit a channel gap at the same time as someone else, and you collide in mide air and both fall strait to your doom at the bottom of the channel.

now THAT shit hurts.

well maybe i misunderstood, but you should prob test hit with a straight air off a 50 fter if ur a sortof beginniner

half the battle in skiing is adapting to the conditions. in the east, it can go from being gorgeous and awesome conditions to being a sheet of ice in an hour, but you dont hear all of us from the east coast bitching about overshooting a jump. everyone overshoots jumps.
