Jesus Christ the Son of God who performed miracles, fulfilled

Prophecies, died, and rose again said, "I am the way, the truth, and

the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." I believe.

man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men." NOTHING

i was quoting the Sh'ma, not something from the recently written, highly contridictory and extremely censored bible

Hello Paul it's me. I'd rather talk to you in an actual message rather

than the comments section of one of my videos. Paul, do you love God?

Does God love you? Why did he create you? Why did he give you free

will? Why did God give you the Ten Commandments to follow if he knew

you were going to break them? Why does he let you keep sinning? Why

would God be willing to forgive you of your sins? God loves you Paul,

and he loves you so much that he sent his only son to die for your

sins. The Messiah has come, and Jesus is that Messiah Paul. I have

explained this to you before. He fulfilled all of the prophecys. He

performed miracles. He arose from the dead, and over a hundred people

saw him resurrected. When we ask God how much does he love us? Jesus is

his answer. God's Will is way more than anyone can comprehend. Justice

in our eye might be totally different in God's. No one is perfect

except God and Jesus. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice for our sins. I

love you Paul, and I'll be praying for you.

I believe (I feel that it is better to talk about one's own beliefs

rather than implying that one way is more correct) that the massiah has

not come, rather that Jesus was delirious and that the bible was

written solely as a way to control people and to give them guidelines

through stories and the ten commandments to live their lives. Secondly,

for what reason do you believe that God is male. I think you are making

an immense assumption which is highly I believe is highly incorrect.

The torah states that everything is made in the image of God, and I

feel that a gender can not be determined from this.

that's awesome, ask him why jesus asked everyone to live lives of poverty and why churches and christians make so much money.

At least hes being civil about it, you as well. A lot of "hardcore" Christians are impossible to have an intelligent conversation with.

Well it makes him happy, whatev. I don't like the circular argument that he gave though. I believe in jesus because in the bible it says jesus is the truth etc. Well no shit sherlock, some of us weren't sold on that part, thats the whole point. I like Jesus though; christians, despite themselves, manage to do a lot of good in the world. I just think religion is more personal than the wholesale one size fits all wave your god flag version we've turned it into in the modern world.

we consider God a male because it says it in his word (The Bible) It alwys refers to Him as a He never in female context

And yes God did give us free will to do whatever we want but there will be a day when everything that you\we have done will be judged.

And if you have not accepted that Jesus died for your sins and rose the third day after his death you will be seperated from God forever. Essentially in hell.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

Why would god create sentient beings and then reward some for doing what he "told" them to do in a book that may or may not have been written by him, and then punish the ones that didn't?

If he created us, then he could have made us do whatever he wanted. So why give us the "choice" to obey him or not?

If you ask me, there are a few answers to this question, a) god doesn't actually care about humanity or b) this god is a douchebag who has no friends and lives in his mom's basement, and created life just so he could get the ego trip of playing mind games with us because he was a complete failure in god-land.

Just like a disturbed child torturing a cat.

This is why I don't believe in your god and cannot understand why anyone would want to... I may as well believe I am mario and I come from the fucking mushroom kingdom and my girlfriend is princess peach... that's from a story someone wrote, so it must be true, right?

But no, people do believe it, for whatever reason. And some of you shitheads tell me I'm going to go to hell because I don't believe in your god.

Well, fuck you, pal. You can believe what you want, but if you are going to pass judgment on me then I will do the same to you. You believe in a story some random dude wrote and you believe in it 100% without question like a fucking robot. I think you believe in lies, you will believe in them your entire life, and you will die having based your entire life around lies. And yet, you see fit to tell other people they are living their lives "wrong." What a worthless fucking human being.

Don't get me wrong... I respect people's right to figure out what they want to believe. I don't know why we are here, so I shouldn't necessarily say for sure that anyone else is wrong if they have thought about it and come to a conclusion (although I could say they are probably wrong and we can have an interesting discussion about it). However, if you believe something just because someone wrote it in a book and you use that "belief" to judge people and spread hate and bigotry, then I hope you die in a fire because you are the embodiment of everything I hate.

Do you hate yourself or something? Why believe humans are inherently guilty of "sin"? Why is that appealing to you?

I should clarify... it is my humble opinion that beliefs rooted in "rational thought" or even just "thought" are infinitely better than beliefs based on "what someone told me was true."

We pop into existence, we exist, and then we pop out again... draw whatever conclusions you can from the time you have, but don't just believe in the first thing someone tells you is true and then live life without ever seeing the world through your own eyes.

The world is a beautiful place, and doesn't deserve the ugly, twisted explanation that so many of you accept.

you're like who the bible warns about, the demons tempting the righteous

you both seem somewhat intelligent in the matter, which makes it hard to see why the both of you cant just part the subject, leaving to each his own

religious zealots cant expect to convert everyone, especially when they demonstrate knowledge about the subject and make his or her own choice based on it.

just noticed these html tags and am testing them out

I have posted on tons of threads about religion so I am not going to try to say anything intelligent just blunt and true.

1) Organized religion is fake and so is god and any religious book.

2) The Christian right is destroying the world and mostly America

3)There are a lot of crazy letters on a Hungarian key board for example őúöüóéáűÉÁŰŐÓü§ and the z is in the wrong place...

ok, i'm not christian.. i was athest now i'm leaning towards buddism... just due to the fact you dont have to deal with christean freaks that are quoting every single line from the bible front to back... from memory... theres one reason why i'm no longer christianfor starters... the bible is a huge story... none of it has truth.. ok maybe there was jesus back in the day, maybe he did rise from the cross.. .but remember people back in the day had strange minds cause they didnt understand shit like we do today... and moses walking in the desert for 400 years i mean thats just bullshit... maybe 40 i could see that , but even then thats a long time... and i could have swarn that people back in the day couldnt live all that long cause in the dark ages people were living to be like 30 or 40 if thier lucky... even though it is a completely different race, but seriously... whoever beleives that stuff is true should have their head examined... and a fair about of people that are true true christians that follow the book 100% and everything have anger problems... cause i'm sure somewhere in the bible it was a sin to beat your meat... and if a guy doesnt do that or get laid he's bound to have major anger issues... but the main point i'm trying to say here is that i hate jahova's... mostly due to the fact them and that other religeon are teh only ones that come to your door to try to switch you over witch is stupid... i have a good enough feeling that theres a 1/1,000,000 chance they ever convert anyone...

firstly, i am not a fan of organized religion, i do believe the majority of the bible is fiction (ie, the isrealites were never slaves of the egyptians), however people have the right to believe whatever they wish, but not to force their beliefs on others.

secondly, the title of this thread makes whoever posted it sound like an absolute tool.

No reason to bash him, he seemed friendly enough.

Although I see no proof for religion, I don't go to church, and I believe 100% in evolution, I have a problem just saying flat-out that God doesn't exist... Yeah, it was written by a bunch of random people, and yeah, it's probably a crock of shit, but for whatever reason... eh.

In any case, religion in and of itself isn't bad, it's the idiots who skew it. I mean, if you don't take the Bible literally and just read it for the stories (haven't done it myself, but I read a bit when I went to church as a kid), there's some damn good morals and guidelines. Just reading it and living by those guidelines... not my choice, but it could be worse. The problem is people who blow it out of proportion, push it in your face, and act all self-righteous about it.

i myself am a christian and i think there are some good points being made. i believe that the only way to heaven is through jesus christ, but i'm not going to go stuff that down someone's throat. if someone has questions, i'll do my best to answer, but i don't know most of them, and i don't think its fair to expect christians to know all the answers.

i personally have a difficult time believing in evolution. i think my biggest question with it is if everything came from the big bang, a)where did all the energy come from if energy can neither be created or destroyed, and mostly b)where did life come from. how can something alive come from something not alive?

anyway, i'm probably going to get trashed for this, but meh, i'm not trying to force anyone to believe anything.

Yeah, Waffle makes some damn good points. How would Mormons and Evangelists like it if we came to their doors at all hours of the day trying to convince them their entire life is a lie and they're entire belief system is "wrong"? They'd hate it.

Believe what you want, it's not harming me and you're entitled to believe whatever you want to, but don't come to my door, school, whatever, and try to convince me that the way I live my life is "bad" and that I need to change. If something happens that makes me reconsider Christianity for whatever reason, then I know where your church is. I'll look you up.

If i may.

The reason that God would give his created sentient creatures free will revolves around the basic question: is it better to force someone to adore you (or rather, force them to thank you for something you've done for them), or give them the choice to do so even if you're completely deserving of praise?

He would give free will to humans so that they can have the choice to accept or reject him, if he exists.

He is an attention whore if he creates and then forces creation to praise and validate his pathetic ego. In that case, he doesn't care about humanity, everyone would just be his little minions. Or he gives humans free will, so they can talk to him of their own accord.

Now, the divine plan/free will paradox, that's something entirely different and not something i would care to get into, seeing as, well, we've both made up our minds.

The reason God may have created the world? Why does an artist create? Answer that and you answer why.

Maybe that can level off your conception of Christian faith. If not, well, we won't be too surprised will we?

i believe in god becasue I dont see sertain things can go together like a computer, car, or anything with out somekind of planning

yah.. contraty to popular beleif i do.. i know that with buddism you beleive in reincarnation, it involves meditation... and you cant harm animals... i know quite a bit about it acctually

it's funny how everyone here says god personaly i believe that there would have to be more then one god but w/e thats just me.

Yeah Paul. He loves you Paul. Just like I love you, Paul.

He said your name alot. That means love.

im actually kinda down with buddism too.  my school has no religion in particular, our headmaster is some sort of a christian priest, our chapplin is buddist.  we meditate every morning and sometimes before class.  its actually pretty chill, it helps keep me focused during the day

heres a thought, why do you care? I mean honostly, dissing on someone elses beliefs because you dont agree with them. What if someone that didnt believe in smoking pot, or partying or drinking and "made fun" of you or told you what you believe in is stupid and "made fun" of you you would defend your beliefs... so I just think your dumb for trying to be "cool" and rippin on people who have different beliefs...

if someone made fun of me for smoking pot shit would be turned around so quickly it'd make his head spin... because i have soo much that supports marijuana.. and well if its a straight edge person thats making fun of me, i'd probaily just not even bother cause they dont beleive in anything... and probialy dont have as much fun as everyone else... but on another not.. pot is good for your emotional state it keeps you relaxed... and if you've done mushrooms you have to keep relaxed or happy unless you want to fuck your trip up... if someone comes over thats not on shrooms can fuck up your trip too.. but dont as how this turned into a drug rant... because i dunno

Yea, word man.

I think religion is so damn dumb. But that's just my opinion. Like, people fight over some old ghetto ancient book. Why?

no i know exactly what your saying im just tryin to make the point of "why destroy somones point of view" when people arnt trying to destroy yours? I guess i dont get it... or dont remember being the age of 13 1 of the 2... but shrooms are fucking an eye opening experiance.

Ok, there is a difference between evolution and the big bang theory. I agree with you, the big bang theory is a THEORY and unproved, and even i have a hard time believing it. But, if you are going to use that in defense of why evolution doesn't exist, well, you really can't. Take an anthropology class when/if you are in college. I'm taking an intro biological anthro class (my final is in 5.5 hours :-O) and there are sooooo soo many fossils and different theories within evolution it is next to impossible to state it doesn't exist. I think it is very likely that something caused the universe to come into existence, but we know so little about it it really all consists of thinking, theories, and no definites. Check out some fossils though. There are so many forms of early humans and species inbetween chimps and modern homo sapien you really can't deny evolution on the human scale

ok, i'm not gonna lie. i don't know a whole lot about evolution and the big bang theory and how they tie together, or even if they do. i would love to take that that course, but i suck at science and math. haha, i'm not trying to cop out though. regardless though, life had to come from somewhere and i find it a lot easier to believe that it was created rather than it come from nowhere. also, within the theory of evolution is there not the survival of the fittest theory? if we evolved from monkeys, then based on that theory, would monkeys no longer exist? i'm not sure and i have no science to back me up. . .just asking.

i think the world operates much to intricately to believe that it happened randomly.

when you die you go into a dmt trip. that means if you believe in something hard enough your brain will create something that you want to see. this is why a lot of people see the light.

alright well i just finished my exam so i can provide a bit more info. The big bang theory and human evolution really have very very very little to do with eachother. The accepted scientific theory to how the first cells began (this is more bio than anthropology) is that the oceans were much warmer back then, about 3.5 billion or so years ago, i kidna forget dates i took ap bio 2 years ago. Lightning struck the ocean, and somehow provided the life force that created a VERY primitive cell. Similar results have been obtained in the lab in the 1960s ish..with the miller urey experiments.. check it on wikipedia, detailed stuff on thurr. So eventually, ill skip about 3 billion years of history and go to homo and what anthropology deals with.

Survival of the fittest decides that the best organism for an environment will survive. If only the best organism would exist, there would be way way less biodiversity than there is today. There are about 13 million species in the world today. Humans and monkeys/chimps occupy different habitats. Humans originally occupied mostly grasslands while different monkeys chilled other places (orangutan in tropical rainforrest, ape in african rain forrest).

Also.. if you are stil reading, my last point. Evolution is NOT a definite subject. Different anthropologists support different shit. There are huge varieties in teh opinions of dudes over what succeeded what in the transitional phases between earlier homo forms. So pretty much, there is a theory for tons of different views. And I'm spent

The Bible isn't chauvinistic though. Women play vital roles all throughout. Let us not also forget the books of Esther and Ruth, both focusing on women. For the time and place, women playing any sort of role in society let alone "God's Plan" would have been quite the abnormality and quite the shocking thing, yet it's there.

There are two genders. It's one or the other. Jesus was a man, God is said to be a spirit. Does it matter?

Your deduction of gender bias can mean three things: they were biased, in which case they lied (or at least didn't tell the truth)and they're wrong. Or, repeat that and they're still right. Or, you're wrong, with what they said being true. I don't see any way of proving either side, though the lack of inherent bias in the text speaks for the latter.

Some one is probably going to mention Paul in his letters to the Philippians stating the place of women in the church, but that's a highly debated thing, and not entirely relevant here and now.

Again, Divine Preordination/Free will paradox, that's a big one. I don't get if you were insinuating that he didn't make his own mind up, but if you think about it, right now, I have the choice to, oh i dunno, get some ice cream. If the choice has already been made for me is irrelevant, because right now, i am the one who is hungry, and i can go get some. That God knows what the outcome of my action is doesn't render my own thought process able to make up its own mind. It's a tough one to think about... But anyways, people have argued about this for millenia, i don't see us resolving it.

4.6 billion years ago: Earth is formed

3.3 billion years ago: first cell life.

Early atmosphere thought to have consisted of ammonia, methane, and hydrogen gas.

Miller-Urey recreated this early earth using an experiment with water being heated, a mix of those gases, electrical current to simulate the lightning, and a condenser. They obtained various amino acids. These then bonded, forming RNA molecules, which used clay molecules as a template upon which they could replicate. Other amino acids were dry, fused together, then watered down, causing the formation of early cell membranes. The RNA used these cells etc etc DNA etc etc asexual reproduction of cells etc etc evolution.

just what you were talking about. i think that's a load of crap, but yeah.

not meaning those from the experiment. Miller-Urey obtained amino acids in the same way the Earth supposedly obtained them. Then, supposedly, these early earth amino acids did the rest of what i wrote. No one has yet succeeded in proving the clay template model theory scientifically.
