I'm getting old...

1. I love the nostalgia in this thread. Pre-internet days, AIM, ridin bikes all summer, stopping at the corner store for candy and for us it was this crazy deal on like fried chicken and potato wedges. Once we were too cool to play hide and seek we just called it Manhunt, made it cooler and people just paired off and hid all over.

2. It should be Eat, Ski, Fuck.

3. Back to OP,

2004- Ruptured Spleen the first time

2005- Tore three major ligaments in my right ankle, 2 completely separated and 1 was hanging by a thread. Worst ankle "sprain" I ever had, there were times I rolled that ankle 4-5 times a day, usually during soccer season.

2006- Ruptured Spleen again

2007- Broke right ankle while in my ski boot

2008-Small fracture to one of the vertebrae in my back from a soccer collision

2009- Did damage to my shoulder when I caught an edge on a down rail. Surgery set for Jan 4.

I've always been prone to lower back pain, but my knees do that popping shit everyday and it's probably not good but it feels so good when they pop. Mine also pop sideways..does anyone else do that? My ankle is the worst though, It's still fucked up and I have to force it to pop around 10 times a day. I think there's a big buildup of scar tissue in the back of my ankle, it's pretty inconvenient. I try to go to the gym regularly to run and lift weights, but for 23 I feel like a pretty old 23.

Yeah.
I'll be out in PC for a bit in February, you should head on up to deer valley and take a few laps with me on the MGP course. :D

ruptured spleens by the age of 16 (maybe 17 or 18?)

thats impressive, but i think i have you beat for most injuries in shortest time period

summer 09 - ruptured spleen biking

november 09 - cracked clavicle on a down rail

january 10 - tore acl in kings

august 10 - retore acl on summer setup

I'm 20.

I was in a pizza place not long ago and I got really angry with the guy working there because his pants were below his butt.

Fucker. pull those pants up you're serving my food.

my idea of a good time is sitting in a comfy chair by the fire, puffing on a corncob pipe, reading the new york times, tasting fine wine and cheese, and being in bed by 9:00...

...all at the ripe age of 16

dude... my knees have been popping ever since i started skiing. and they get stiff allllll the time after skiing

funny thing, when i was 11 i thought it was cool and now i hate when people sag their pants. makes you look like an idiot.

At 21:

Broken kneecap

Broken leg/dislocated ankle

Tendonitis, bone bruises, and timy meniscus tears in both knees

MCL Tear

ATFL Tear

2 herniated disks

Constant skiers thumbs

Constantly sore neck

I always feel old haha

I have a little issue with my ankles after I case something big or small. My left or right ankle will be sore all day long after it.

Everything body-wise has been said already so I'll go with memories.

At 21 I remember:

-When you only had a cell phone if you were a businessman

-When 8 year olds didn't get carpel tunnel

-"Text messages? That'll NEVER catch on!"

-Spice Girls

-Volkl Carvers

-When airport security didn't give a fuck

-Ren and Stimpy

-The original Nintendo

-When computers took 10 minutes to start up.

-When a couple 20gb of memory was considered excessive for a computer.

-and finally, Hamster Dance.

there's quite a few 22 year olds here, we're becoming the old guard.
I'm 22 and in certain respects I feel old. Not so much physically but socially, I don't like the fact that every number I add on means moving away from the doing the things I love doing most. Skiing all the time, getting hammered with all the homies, smoking weed with my three roommates, getting it on with teenage girls. I'm gonna miss these years so much, just like I miss my high school years. In that respect, knowing that all of that is going to be behind me once I don that cap and gown, makes me feel quite sad and old. Also, seeing the state of some of my peers struggling after college, leaves me feeling strange.
To all of you that have physical ailments, my heart goes out to you, I've been lucky to avoid any serious long lasting injuries. If you're ever feeling down, just look at Warren Miller, the dude is 84 and he's still skiing. He's got a solid 62 years on most of us.

I remember when I got a computer with 40gb and I thought it was amazing haha...
Air port security..what a joke. In 2006, I went through it with a lighter in my pocket...twice. Forgot about it both ways. It was even worse back in the day.

I remember when you could make it through security with a swiss army knife, regular sized toothpaste, gallon sized shampoo, and lighters all in your carry-on bag. Now they take your protractor and water from you. Last year i legitimately got yelled at because i had a nearly empty tube of toothpaste in my carry on.

Remember all this too.
I'm 18.
Problems?
Permanent back/neck pain from skiing. I'm seeing a chiropractor which helps, but I still get very sore.
Been popping my knees for the last 3 years.
Left thumb is fuuuuucked from breaking it twice skiing.
Almost every joint in my body cracks/creaks/clicks.
Don't give me shit out of being out of shape - I gym 4 times a week and hardly have an ounce of fat on me plus I live very healthily (apart from my drinking).
All the discomfort is fucking worth it for the fun I've had. Wouldn't change a thing.

Pushin up on thirty next year and my biggest complaint is a receding hairline.

Quick if you remember the first days of internet do your best dial up sound impression.

bbbooooowwweeeeeeeeeeowwwoooooowwwooooowoooweoweoweoweoweorrrrrrrrrrrrrr

your telling me, at 23, I seem to be getting a lot of small injuries that costs me 2 or 3 days off. I see these kids get the smack down on the rail, get up and do it again without the smallest sign of pain. How they do that?

damn dude, like i had fun in my teenage years and all, but im so glad that shits over with. the amount of freedom we have now, and the attitude i and my friends have is so much better. Im more active than ever now, instead of hanging out at one of our houses watching tv all the time, we go camping, mountain biking, skating etc... all the time. ive got friends out of college, and some who arent going to college and just working, but it still leaves us more free time than we ever had in highschool. sound like you just need to realize that your still only fucking 22. in 22 more years you wont even be old yet. and you have a good 10 or more if you want years of very little responsibility and fucking around having a good time doing whatever. ive got friends like you who think that being over 20 means they have to get serious and stop having fun, but its the ones having fun and fucking around all the time who are making more money, and their jobs/lives are looking to be more successful and fun than the guys taking it serious. stop listening to negative people and listen to positive people and think about how much the positives outweigh the negatives, we have such a better situation than we did in highschool to do cool stuff and have more fun and do more fun things than ever. and its the people who dont realize that and spend the next 20 years being serious and mopey about it that look back and say "i was so young back then i wish i did more"

Yeah man, I turned 16 on Feb 7th that year, the next week a ton families from my high school went on a sick ass Caribbean cruise together and I literally gained 10 lbs from all the free food. Then like a week after the cruise on Feb 29th I'm pretty sure it was, I fucked up skiing and ruptured my spleen the first time. I wasn't allowed to eat anything for over 5 days, and after that it was just soup, I lost every bit of that cruise weight. Moral of the story, if you need to lose weight fast just break an organ. That was 10th grade and it was senior year the second time it ruptured and it was again like the week after my birthday so yeah i was 18.

I'm 24 working on 25, and after years of soccer, track and skiing, things certainly don't work the way they used to. Getting out of bed in the morning usually leads to my ankles and knees cracking for a while, and anytime I go upstairs my ankles crack. It's also pretty disheartening when all the 14 and 15 year olds in the park are better at rails than me.

when you think about it basically all the best pros are like 19-late 20s, and kill it harder than almost any teen. i guess thats why they are pros, cause their bodies take the punishment better than most. im only 21, but i feel lucky that my body can take harder punishment than ever and recover

damn, some of you are some frail mother fuckers. I'm pushing 30 with PASKIING and my only complaint is that my hangovers last a lot longer than they did at 21.

I wouldn't consider myself frail. I took some pretty good hits last year and I'm sure I'll take some good ones this year. I've only ever broken one bone and that wasn't even from skiing. It just takes a bit longer to recover than it used to when I was 16 or 17.

My only bodily complaint is a sore shoulder when i play volleyball, mostly from serving, so the overhead rotation coupled with hitting the ball really wears on something in there. That'll happen though after 15+ years of serving a volleyball as hard as you can.
