I know there will be lots who don't care, but I don't care I'm stoked on life!

The photo(above) is the ring I bought for her. No idea where the wedding is going to be yet, but really stoked to move forward with this part of my life.

Looking at maybe getting some wedding photos in a castle because that's just how I want to roll for my wedding. Anyone have any other cool ideas for wedding photos? I've been thinking about the classic groomsmen wearing super hero shirts underneath the suits. Also have been thinking about having villain shirts under suits or something instead. So many cool ideas floating around in my head right now.

congrats homie! its crazy to have "grown up" on this site with some of the more familiar names on here... how far we've come. Prost to a healthy and beautiful future as mr&mrs Lé.Skiing!

Congratulations! That's a very tasteful ring. You did well.

(and because this is NSG) Who's the lucky guy? Is he a member here as well?

Congrats man! As for photos, if youre going to do a castle thing and the lucky lady is a blonde, do some kind of rapunzel thing where your climbing the castle and shes up top. I dont know why, but that sounds sweet.

Congrats dude! Can I come to the bachelor party and wedding and reception and after party and honey moon?

Hell yeah man! Congrats! Just got married myself.... so crazy i'm still here after a decade and people are getting all grown up. Wild.

Not superhero or villain tees. What you need are tall tees under your suit coat.

No other option

Congrats btw!

So cool man! Congratulations!! Happy for ya. I think doing a wedding video is really unique and cool and putting it to music. I did a video for a wedding and the song used was their processional song. Check out the wedding video I made below. Congrats again man, stoked for you and your fiancé!

i'm guessin 18 years of ring bearin trophy husbandry makes me real old

but happy wife happy life wise

congrats

it's on the short list of best decisions ive made

Thanks everyone for the congrats! Still no clue on a date yet, but we have found a venue where we live and it has a pond, and stuff; should be pretty awesome. Trying to figure out everything for the wedding is a shit ton of work and as I am slowly learning even a small wedding is going to be pretty pricey. lol

On a funny side note I'm the one who wants the more expensive wedding. We plan on having a small wedding because we would rather have money to put towards a house which is totally awesome. I can't wait to buy my own house.

Also to everyone else who mentioned you were married Congrats on all you guys I can only imagine how stoked you probably were getting engaged. I know the excitement will wear off eventually, but so far it's been pretty awesome. Every so often me and my fiance will turn to each other and just stare deeply into the others face and we will just say, "we're engaged!" lol

Maybe one of these days we can have an NS bachelor party on tiny chat or something where we all just get drunk on the computer. Maybe even on my bachelor party I will just open up some tiny chat to show what we're doing.

Small weddings don't have to cost shit. I got married in January this year and it cost nothing. Immediate family was present, it was done in my living room. Got a buddy who's a photographer for cheep, the brides mom paid for the dinner that night (which was for 9 us of I think?). Had a bonfire in the backyard after dinner with friends. All in all it was around $300 out of pocket to get married and everyone was happy.

Congrats, we got married about 18 months ago.

We paid for our wedding out of pocket, so we didn't want to go too overboard on expenses. We recruited our skilled friends wherever we could. We ended up getting the invitations, her hair/make up, cake, decorations, hall setup, pictures, DJ, and ceremony all done by friends who were glad to help. We probably saved $10k on this stuff alone. Oh, and my mom did all the alterations to my wife's dress.

Everything in our wedding and reception had a personal touch to it, which made it more special. We asked our guests what their favorite songs/artists were when they RSVP'd, and then the DJ made remixes and mashups of all of those songs to play during the reception.

We had a great time, our guests had a ton of fun, and there was no drama.

Oh, and we had a bobblehead made of us for the cake.

Those are awesome ideas, thanks! I think we both just want a venue for the wedding. We have already figured out the nicest one that is actually also the cheapest. We looked at a ton of venues and this one has a little pond and it's private too which is awesome. The best part is it's only $1k to rent the venue for the day. Where as most awesome places here charge around $4k+. I saw a bunch of places that would be awesome, but we both kinda had to dial it back a bit. More me than her lol

I totally get how some people can get a little crazy with wedding prices. We're looking for something on the cheaper side of things, but also want to have a place where we can get married and hold everything in one spot so it cuts down on travelling on the day of. (By me saying it's a small wedding I mean it's only going to be around like 120 people at most, and around 100 at least)

Going to ask friends who might be interested in taking photos and I have a few friends who are good at remixes maybe I'll see if they would be down to do some of that kinda stuff and I'll just throw them some cash instead of a DJ. We had friends who just played music from an iPod which seems decent enough to me too.

Congrats buddy!

I'm coming up on the 1 year anniversary since mine, man, time flies when you're having fun.

Enjoy it. Now the fun begins - planning can get a little crazy, so many details I never would have ever considered. Like linen and napkin colors and stuff, ha. My advise, just go with whatever your girl likes, makes your life so much easier

Haha, sounds like you guys are a little different than me

I picked a time, a place, six guys to stand up there with me and everything else (for the most part) was up to the wife

Easier that way me thinks

I'd like to leave everything up to her, but she wants me to help out with pretty much everything. hahaha I don't mind either because we both have similar tastes which is awesome to me. It makes choosing stuff way easier. The hard part I think is going to be deciding on our song. lol I told my brother we decided on a venue yesterday(he's already married) and he was like Holy, that was quick. lol We found a venue we wanted in about 24 hours. Only thing we are waiting on is the down payment. Pretty crazy how quick we have been choosing stuff.

The Fiance already has the colour scheme picked out for her bridal party. Which is like a royal blue for the bridal party and then the girls are going to be holding sunflowers. Image of what it's going to look like below.(only difference is going to be the people wearing them and the dress styles)

Op. We need a pic of you and your future wife. We need to see what you both really look like

I can post a pic of myself, she prefers not to have pictures of her on the internet. I might be able to talk her into sharing some wedding day photos in the future here, but for now it's a no go.

YAY I AM SO SO SO SO SO EXCITED FOR YOU. I LOVE WEDDINGS. I LOVE LOVE. OMG, CONGRATS.

Seriously though, congratulations on taking this next step. That is a beautiful ring, and she's a lucky lady. Hope you two have an amazing wedding, and many more love filled years to come. This is so exciting. You're starting a new chapter in your life, and it's so exciting. I'm watching "Say Yes to the Dress" right now, so this is even more exciting. Ah!!!!

As tacky as it sounds, Pinterest has some cool wedding stuff, and isn't always girly & whatnot. I actually recommend checking it out for ideas.

"Say Yes to the Dress"

Saw a bunch of that show yesterday with my Fiance and I just wish I had their dress budget for my whole wedding. hahaha some dresses are ridiculously expensive.

Also wanted to mention that I originally got her ring sized to make sure it would fit her finger and so she didn't have to go without the ring when I gave it to her. After I gave it to her she was worried it was too loose, and we just had to size the ring again back to the size that I originally bought it at before getting it sized and giving it to her. In other words (if I explained it bad) I bought the ring and got it sized for her and I didn't need to because it was the perfect size when I originally bought it. I had to get it sized twice for no reason. lol

yup--also, one thing I've noticed is that if my weight fluctuates by merely 5 pounds my rings fit differently. It is best to leave them as they are for the most part and get a ring-guard if need be, or what my husband did was buy me a small, thin, gold band that is smaller to wear on the outside of my engagement ring. I ended up losing that band one night while partying, but I guess it did its job, because I didn't lose the ring that mattered!
