alberta is going to be tax free and income tax free soon because of the oil. my dad is actually thinking about registering his business out there but managing it in toronto just to take advantage of the tax free.

the tar sands for the most part are going to play a key role for the economic development of alberta.

some people don't realize it, but there are over 70 countries in the world with tar sands but alberta and venezuala being the largest.

the amount of oil retrievable in the tar sands with today technology amounts to something like 280-300 billion barrels of oil. this is actually larger then the saudi arabia oil reservers which has only 240 billion barrels.

the amount of oil that alberta has that cannot be mined with todays current technology is something around 1,700-2500 billion barrels of oil

don't be fooled with the rising gas prices that it means the world is running out of oil. its not. its just that we are consuming more then we can produce. thus, with the supply and deman theory in place the price will go up. purely economics.
