Im a lodge rat

does anybody on newschoolers ever find themselves spending an insane amount of time at their ski hill just sitting in the fucking lodge?

one day this season i spent EIGHT hours straight in the lodge. i took like four or five runs the entire day.

i go to the hill every single day, and i would say that i spent around 1/3 of season just sitting in the lodge doing almost nothing.

and im not alone. i dont think im even the worst at my hill. i feel like theres always a huge group of people who come to the hill, sit down, and then are too lazy to go up and ski.

so NS. i ask you.. are you a lodge rat?

your admitting to this? sounds sad man shred it up there are thousands of kids who'd kill to have ur position....sure i wont be the last to say something like this but this is pathetic

sounds like your just another spoiled rich kid who takes for granted everything his parents give him and doesnt appreciate what he has..there are kids that would kill to be in your position and you just waste it away by sitting on your lazy ass in the lodge
When I hit up a mountain I take a shit in the lodge early in the morning, put some granola bars and water in my backpack and dont return to the lodge until the lifts close

na man i here ya i live 10 minutes to my closest hill, it sucks but there's snow sometime so what are you gona do. Back in highschool and middle school i was almost there every day, and theres only so much you can do with 3 trails and 1 or 2 rails ( if we were luckey enough for them to be open). It was almost a place to hang out away from you parents and so on when your younger, yea we skiied a ton but at the same time did a good amount of eating and chilling in the lodge.

i could never even imagine that. i mean if you ski hard for a while then take a hour break or something to eat and get your legs back or something thats always fine. but damn you spent 8 hours in the lodge strait just talking to people? when there was fresh snow to be skied 30 seconds away, i couldnt do that

the only time i am ever in the lodge is walking through it to get to the left, and get to my car after a day of skiing. and im at the mountain everyday for at least 10 hours. between work, then skiing after. i know your type tho. the lodge rats. and i think everyone up there summed it perfectly. spoiled rich kid, claiming every trick he did in the 2 runs he took that day to all his friends with full tilts, oakley crowbars, and NS stickers anywhere that is visible.

yea, my bad. i had a rough night and i took it out on this poor kid i dont even know with stereotyping and stupidness. any way, lemme apologize, i just have way to many lodge rats at my mountain. kids literally who dont even ride come into the lodge to hang out, so ive just given lodge rats a bad rep. if thats what you feel like doing instead of skiing, more power to you.

Yeah OP we all have those days. My mountain had a lot of rain this year so my friends and I would go up, take a run, then wait the lodge for a couple hours for it to clear up, go for a couple of runs, it would start raining again and repeat the cycle. It's nothing to be ashamed of. But I'm not driving for a long time to my local hill every weekend, 5 minute drive and there's night skiing (open 9am-10pm) so I didn't really miss out on much skiing since I can just go the next day.

my fucking snowboarder friend is such a bitch and always wants to go in for lunch after like 4 runs it is so annoying he goes and eats by himself because hes lame so i have no one to shred with haha

if your just going to sit on your ass all day why even bother getting up early and driving to the mountain?

i ski like 6-12 hours a day when i go with maybe like 30 minutes of lodge time

if your going to go skiing, go skiing

i fucking hate it when people that just drive up and every few runs go sit in the lodge every like 4 runs(cough* Morgan cough*), why not just not go at all, theres way more fun stuff to do then sit in the lodge

nope.

only time i go inside is to eat.

or on excruciatingly cold days where i cant feel my fingers after a few runs.

id all depends on how far you are from your hill, now i spend little time in the lodge when i was younger i spend a good amount of time there, if i had to drive a distance to the resort, no way id be cought dead wasting time, but when you live 5 minutes away its a different story

I do it when I tell people I would see them up there. Skiing by myself isnt super fun and I feel required to wait for people if I told them I would meet htem up there, other then that I go into the lodge maybe for 30 minutes to eat quickly then get back on teh hill.

the lodge is a place for 3 things:

getting ready to ski/leave

food

heating up

all of my friends except for like 1 kid are lodge rats and all go in after 2 or 3 runs when i want to ski, makes me so angry

im only in the lodge to suit up or eat at lunch so i spend like 30 minutes max in the lodge when i go especially if the weathers nice
but if its like negative 20 then ill go in to warm up every now and then

lodge rats r also annoying cuz they never move from their spot lol

i dont get to go skiing as often as i would like to, so i'm on the hill for as long as possible. most of the time i even pack my lunch/snacks and just eat that shit on the chairlift

i take maybe one or two breaks a day... when its really really cold probably more.. but i hate just sitting inside doing nothing

well lets be fair, i spend at least half my day in the lodge looking in the mirrior checking to make sure my tall tees are tall enough and my afterbang is tom wallishy enough to be seen on the hill

wtf do you do in the lodge? socialize? then it's not time wasted imo.

But I guess you don' t realise how privilidged u are

i probably would chill in the lodge more if i lived less than an hour away from the hill. hell, if i lived there id probably sit at the bar and try to find hot ski bunnies more than id ski.

but i always laugh when im in the carinthia lodge and 15 kids are playing amped 3 instead of actually riding haha (no hate, whatever gets your dick hard)

I ski at a small dirt hill in the midwest most of the time. I often find myself in the lodge bar getting wasted after I get bored. I'm never in the lodge any time I'm west....ski, ski, ski...

I spend like 1 hour in the lodge the whole day. Thats nuts that you chill around in the lodge. I'd rather ski.

basically this except i dont even bring a backpack im to busy lapping the park cause theres nothing else to do in pa then on school trips i would sit on the front of the bus to get off and go skiing then i wouldnt go in at all except whenever lifts closed then id go in get dinner and bring it back to the bus

people need to cut this "YOU'RE A RICH KID IF I WERE IN YOUR POSITION I'D BE UP SHREDDING" bullshit. i know you want your peers on the INTERNET to respect you, but everyone knows the lodge is where da pussy at nah sayin?

Nah, i dont even like going in to eat sometimes, if its a nice day ill just sit outside or eat on the lift.

Any one else notice this a lot at mounts snow? I was there a lot late season and i feel like the same kids are always there at like 10 on the deck skateboarding with there pants rolled up like they're done for the day. It's just weird, yeah i go in for lunch but it's usualy at either 11 or like 2 and a half hour and then im back out until like 4

i hate the lodge. expensive as hell food and annoying people everywhere. dont even get me started on all the 14 year old snowboarding whores.

but sometimes there are some good milfs

I had never been in my lodge untill this season.

went in 3 times when i had a gift certificate to buy food.

otherwise I don't even stop to eat. gota get that skiing in while you can.

lodges=wast of $ & time

I sometimes do that if I am by myself, but it sucks when you have a big crew and then end up in the lodge.

I love people like you. Buy a pass= helping the mountain, more $ to build parks and buy equipmentbuying overpriced food in lodge= jobs for ski bumsbuying twin tips and Saga outerwear= helping the ski industry in generalsitting in lodge= staying the fuck out of my way in the park Keep up the good work
