Il Moro vs. Agent 110

so i spent this entire weekend looking for some new boots and i found the two best fits for me were the Dalbello il Moro and the Tecnica Agent 110. now i'm looking for a boot with a nice flex that's about a notch down from a typical 120 flex index which is why i lookd at the 110, also the il Moro had a nice fluid flex to it. i ski a lot in the park but i also like to ski a lot of woods and still charge high speed gs turns down groomers. i know the agent is a more traditional feeling boot but i've heard that the il Moro can still ski great everywhere and is not a park specific boot because i still want some all mountain performance. i'm basically looking for some personal feedback from people who have either boot and i'd like to hear some pros and cons of each boot. one question i had about the il Moro is the durability of the top ratchet buckle cause it seems like it sticks out a bit in a way that it may get messed up from a bad fall more than a normal buckle boot would. thanks

I am also looking into il moro's... I would love to read what everyone says. My other question is the durability of the rachet, does it slip and get sloppy?

^ If it works for snowboard bindings, it should work for ski boots. And I love the dalbello three buckle, three part design. Its so simple but a great fit for me.

They changed the system this year so that the system wont get stripped...essentially you have to tighten the ratchet system going all the way from right to left, you can't make little movements.

hey, i bought il moro's last week, there a great boot, if you dont like the flex or think it's to soft or to stiff they supply you with 2 extra tounges; one stiffer and the other softer. and for the top buckle i don't know much about its durability but if you tighten it all the way and you still feel as though it is loose you can shift the screws on the side to make it more tighter. you they heat mold the liner so it fits perfectly on your feet.i ski 90% park and some bc and i'd say this is the perfect boot.

had il moro all last year and loved them. Super warm, super comfortable and eliminated most of my shin bang. Best boot i've ever had. Ive never skied agents though

I skied the IL Moro throughout last season and it holds up really well. From what I understand, Dalbello had initial problems with the longevity of the ratchet system on the old prototypes.Thankfully, for the production 08/09's, the ratchet is larger, more durable, and less likely to strip 1/2 way into your season. Even with the old ratchet system, my boots are still skiable and the plastic on the ratchet has yet to malfunction after 150+ days of skiing.

One thing I especially like about the IL Moro is the middle buckel and how well it locks your heel into the boot while skiing. Heel lift is has always been an issue for me while landing/ skiing switch and the 3 buckel design eliminated that problem.

Have fun boot shopping
