Ikea is opening in winnipeg, and i am wondering why there is so much hype and why everyone is slapping boners over this? People are lining up to get in at midnight

SO NS why?

once you relax on your first DAGSTORP, you'll never go back.

ps that's an actual ikea product

Trust me. You will see. Its a fucking wonder world of reasonably priced decent looking furniture. And, The meatballs are out of this fucking world.

Its a shame its 18+ after 11:00pm, but last year when I turned 18 I realized it was worth it, such a good time

Ikea is the shit. I have multiple pieces of ikea furniture in my place. Its not the greatest furniture but its cheap, relatively stylish, and decent quality.

Also the food is fantastic.

Although the ikea in Minnesota is bigger and more modern than the ikea ive been to in Sweden, MERICA! hahaha Ikea in sweden still was much more authentic.

The food is killer. The fries with the little crunchy knobs, and meatballs and gravy, all washed down with the lingenberry juice. So bomb

OP your life is without meaning until you have visits the most holy of lands in the world of reasonable priced furniture and delicious meatballs. Also fun fact: in Sweden it's actually pronounced ee-kay-ah. True story.

this so much. When ever I would go around corners I just 360 the cart. Sometimes I got for the 720 when I'm feeling risky.. The carts are probably the most fun thing about ikea and worth going to for the cart alone.

And wtf my ikea doesn't have rock walls or any of that crap. I call bullshit.

YOU DO NOT HAVE MEATBALLS WITH FRIES! Honestly, being Swedish, that is an abomination! You have boiled potatoes with the meatballs. Along with lingonberry jam and "brown sauce" (translation unknown) of course.

But IKEA is fucking awesome. We don't have one in my city, but we always make the trip at least once a year. I think I might have one piece of furniture in my apartment that isn't IKEA.

but the furniture is also cheap and good for first apartments cause usually you are on a budget. Its cheap but doesn't look that cheap, though it is sometimes a bitch to build.

I want to open a business that just builds ikea furniture for people.

literally here in europe it is like a thing, like a mandatory thing, morally I mean, to have at least something, if not a lot of things from ikea. My brand new kitchen, all brand spanking new ikea things.

I fucking hate Ikea. Line ups for miles. Line up to find out what you want, line up to find out where it is, go and find it in a huge warehouse, line up to get out. Fuck you Ikea.

I got a ikea desk once and the corner came all messed up so we called em up and got another one for free so I have the broken one (still works fine) to my brother.

Moral of the story, ikea may not have the best quality but they have good customer service

Mixing some nice quality or stand-out pieces with some ikea basics is a good way to go in my opinion. Some of their stuff falls apart, some of it lasts forever-- but at least you wont be too upset if something gets ruined because you won't be out too much money. It is the absolute perfect store for young adults trying to furnish their first places.

Also they're innovative-- not everything they have is furniture-- they have storage solutions and cool ideas for organization and decorating. Their showrooms are inspirational and may give people ideas they'd never thought of before.

I would go to IKEA for their tarp plastic bags alone. We use those things ALL the time-- carrying firewood, laundry to the laundry room-- dropping shit off at goodwill and just leaving them with the bag-- because why not? They're only 59 cents.

They also mix a few decent quality items into their line-up. They have quite a few things made of all real wood and we have a leather sofa of theirs that was $3200.00- -that's not cheap for a sofa, but it has lasted us 5 years so far and still looks great. I'm actually thinking of buying their Karlstad tufted leather sofa next, which is $1800.00.

Their appliances are nice and stylish. All of them are whirlpool and just have a small IKEA logo on them somewhere you can't see. They also aren't cheap. I put all IKEA appliances into my condo. Dishwasher: $650.00, microwave: $650, range hood: $1200, oven: $899, cooktop: $650-- we mixed them with a Viking beverage refrigerator and refrigerator drawers and it all blends nicely.

This was more of a response to the thread than your post, I kind of got off track a little.
