Ignition vs. rampage

they both fit very nicely, and have similar flexes.

i ski 70% park 30% all-mountain and weigh 140 lbs. my top priorities are good flex and comfort, although a warm boot is preffered. i can get them for about the same price and am so far leaning towards the ignition. i also am wondering which is heavier, so far ive been hearing ignition is heavier but when i tried the cross on in july it felt heavy whereas when i tried on the ignition, it felt very average weight.

so which is for me?

Both are nice boots, the rampage is definitely more narrow fit. You really have to try them on and see which one you like, its the only way.

oh no wait, i was thinking about the nordica superchargers. But seriously, the only way to know is to try them on.

you must not have read the thread, he said they both fit nicely.

if they both fit great, and have similar features, i guess it comes down to price

i know, thats what i thaught too, but it turns out my feet have different widths at different places, my feet are relatively wide in the middle, yet narrow towards the toe, so even though they have somewhat different fits, they both end up fitting.

and for who's wondering, the rampages are $15 more.

well i tried on the dalbellos like almost 2 months ago, so i dont remember them that well. all i remember is that i liked them, they fit well and flexed well. when i tried on superchargers yesterday, they fit everywhere and i had no complaints.

i understand what you mean and completely agree. and i would like to try both on at once, but its easier said than done. at the moment im in a suburb of camden, maine. i tried on the superchargers in freeport. i normally live in madison, wisconsin, which is where i tried on the dalbellos. so its not really an option to try on both.

i just am trying them on here, im planning off buying off the web. i have no connection to either buisness so i take no guilt in taking my buisness elsewhere.

but seriously, regardless of fit, which is the better choice? and this IS a valid question because mainly im wondering if there are any really bad or good things about either boot that would influece wether i should specificly stay awayfrom them or not, or good thing that i should factor in while i decide.

its almost $200 less, and the boot fitter gets paid the same wether i buy them there or not. but otherwise, if they were the same price, or up to $15 more, id buy from the shop. but the fact is, i can afford from the web, i cant afford from the shop.

i bought a a-frame goggle strap and a goggle cleaning cloth there, so at least i gave them buisness. thats like $20

so i take it the features are comperable, in which case i would buy the supercharger, since i know it fits. the only scenario in which i wouldn't get them is if they had any significant advantages or if the dalbellos had any significant advantages, so are there any?

i bought the ignitions for $219. i figure, i know they fit, they feel comfortable, have a good flex, and are warm so i figure i cant go wrong. and if i got them and didn't like them i could always just return them. besides, they were only $220.

you got a good deal on the ignitions. im sure youll like them dude i have them and theyre a sick boot. mad comfortable and have good shock absorption not to mention a pretty nice flex

nomensteven hit it right on. when someone comes into my shop and sits down with me to get fit for a pair of boots, tries on five different models and takes up two hours of my time, only to ask me then if i can match a price $50 less that he found online, it sucks. i just wasted two hours of my time that i could have put towards helping other customers, getting paperwork done, fixing other boots or skis, etc, but instead, it was spent with someone who had no intention of getting boots from me in the first place. buying online might save you money initially, but most shops will rape you for boot work if the boot wasnt purchased through that shop. same thing with mounting skis and bindings. generally, if you buy from the shop, mounting will be free. buy online, and dont be amazed when you get charged $50 or more for mounting. with the exception of the online stores that actually have physical locations as well, the online shops arent dumping money back in to local events and sponsoring local athletes to help promote the sport.

and about your new boots, if the rampages fit you comfortably, i'd be willing to bet money that after skiing in the ignitions for five to ten days, they'll be sloppier than an atlantic city hooker. those boots fit so differently, i cant understand how they both felt good on your feet. i ride in the rampages, which fit me rather well, but i could probably come close to pulling my foot right out of the ignition even when its completely buckled, its that much wider and more voluminous than the rampage.

i didnt read all your posts nomen but i'm sure youve hit it for him. maybe the boots you are trying on are all too big so they both feel the same because they are both roomy as shit. to repeat again. completely opposite boots

you obviously didnt read the thread, i already said that i bought $20 worth of stuff from them. also, i got fitted for the superchargers so i KNOW they fit. also, the rampages they had at my shop were to big, a 29.5. the fitter recommended a 28.5 in that boot but proceeded to fit me in a speedmachine 14 for a 29. the beast shell fits similarly so i can see how it would fit. so the fact is, it fits. so whats the problem?

and happy 1000th post to me.

i have the rampages and i love them super confortable and i happen to love the 3 buckle sysytem because you dont really lose ur circulation if u do it to tight like 4 buckle boots

the ignition IS EXACTLY THE SAME as a Beast 10 - 101mm wide.

The speedmachine boots are 98mm wide

I just got a pair of the supercharger ignitions and they are wider than x-waves..
