It's not like it was the premier of the new Harry Potter movie. It was a big party with ski movies. And it's not like Tanner is Lindsey Lohan.  I don't know about you, but when Scandalous came out I wasn't like, "Maybe if I drink enough beer and smoke enough weed, I'll be able to ski like Tanner Hall!"

this whole thing really depresses me. a bunch of people have already said it, we're skiers. i think we're supposed to get crunk. still, the fact that six pages errupted out of this. i... i... i'm just so bummed out that the only thing to do is get blackout drunk tonight and cause a ruckus, probably slap Harvey if i see him at the bar.
 
i didnt say anything to him if i was tanner hall i wouldnt wanna wait for kids in the park either but i wouldnt be a dick about it. and dredshed if you have the chance you can take tanners dick out of your mouth and suck on mine for a little bit cuz it wasnt even in the big park it was like a 30 foot table top so if he doesnt wanna ski with those of us that arent as good as him he should go to the bigger park
 
If it were one time it really wouldn't be a big deal. I don't know tanner at all, but i've seen 2 other instances where he has been like this in public.

Regardless I'm embarassed for his sponsors and our sport. As one of the first emerging professionals in skiing's comeback to the wintersports limelight he is visible to all within our industry and action sports in general.

Few in skiing are scared of life, we're all who we are at the end of the day. You drink, fine. You swear, fine. You want to be an ass, fine. I can only say that the true legends, heros and ROLE models of any sport are the people that are themselves but also constantly CONSTRUCTIVELY contribute to the image and drive of their passion.

Tanner is a business owner, elite athlete, film maker and spokesperson. This is without question. What is WITHIN question is his true color. Personally I find it saddening that someone so dedicated to skiing has become so lost along the pathway to becoming a true icon. We all get lost from time to time, its how you represent the way you feel about yourself.

Tanner's actions tell me he's trying pretty hard to cope with becoming so successful. Unfortunately this isn't an excuse for being a self-absorbed spectacle.

anyone else here really sick of hearing about tanner? i don't give a fuck what he does. i've always thought he was a douchbag but i don't hate him- i'm just annoyed. this will be the last time i read/reply to anything related to Mr. Hall
 
I saw him in Japan last year stonned three chicks from his arm fingers to the ground like i'm da man ! and I kinda went yeah whtever.

The dude skis well That why ya know him and fuck ya know he spills a beer on himself at a bad time evryone has done it ! rite ! at sometime...

But I do agree If there were kids present and barring fans...

I will think twice about stocking his ski !

Unfortunately he's sort of a big deal and that means people associate ALL of us with HIM. "Hey I just heard this pro-SKIER Tanner Hallorsomething was a waste case at this movie premiere I went to in Montreal."

All most people hear out of that is SKIER and WASTED.

I'm a skier, I like to have a drink but sure as hell NONE of us need Tanner proving even further how cowboy some of the professionals in this industry are. Again I have to say for his sponsors and all of us, what an embarassment.

This childish logic that 'BUT HE'S A SIICKK SKIER SO DAT ALL DAT MATTERS YO' is just straight up silly. Thats NOT all that matters. There's bigger forces at work. Tanner gets PAID to be the face for many different products.

Think Oakley really needs one of their poster children making an obnoxious spectacle of themselves in front of children and paying crowds?

I hope to all the people it actually MATTERS to you can see this discussion for what its worth: an awareness of just how interconnected we all REALLY are. You're a skier but you're also a member of a community that is effected as a WHOLE by your actions. Particularly when you put yourself in the spotlight as Tanner has.

I hope you figure out whatever you've got going on in your head that got you to this point Tanner. Be easy.

And again i say, it doesn't matter what tanner actually did, everyone does that, it's who he was presenting himself to.

but i still don't know, were there kids in the actual building when he did that? if not, this is not even worth a post.
 
Of course their were kids...that was mentioned in my original post in this thread. He straight up rejected a kid who wanted to take a picture with Tannner, right in front of me.

Whatever? I'm going to be THAT guy and say all the posters that have taken a WHATEVER stand on this will understand how detrimental events like this are when you get a serious foot in the industry door, earn your way to where you are by making sacrifices or get older. Yep I said it.

This isn't a "whatever" moment. Many of the posts on here are. This is not. "Whatever" is when some random gets booted from an industry event because he tries to use an expired ID or makes a scene.

Tanner is a top ranked pro representing all of us NOT a random. If he makes me look like an idiot because he's too cool to care about anyone else.. I'm not going to accept "whatever". His blatant disregard for his OWN fan base, respect for himself, the image of all pro skiers and the hard work of everyone connected to him makes my blood boil.

I don't know Tanner, he could be the next Ghandi/Jesus/Father Teresa.. in the end he was a disrespectful drunk at IF3 though. Thats what we all know. When there's a "IF3 TANNER IS THE NEXT CLASSY SAINT" thread then all the power to him.

Id much rather have Tanner being drunk representing me, than sammy or simon sober and about as real as a dry slope representing me which is more than often the case.
 
who the fuck cares guys, you put these people up on petestils just because there good at something. there just people some of them are cool and some of them are fuckin douchebags, everybody makes mistakes, tanner makes a lot of them who cares hes just a person hes not jesus or anything. you sound like a bunch of women raving over brad pitt and angelina. you ppl make me sick.
 
Tanner used to be one of my favorite skiers. now days all i hear is storys off him always being drunk and an ass hole to every one. If i were him i would be promoting the sport and try to be a role model. everyone knows he first started skiing because it was somthing he liked to do, so it is no reason to say he isnt a role model case he is just in it for the cash. he is an asshole and smokes to mutch to remember when he was in the sport for fun
 
Tanner Hall is by far my favorite skier of all time and is the one the main reasons I got into freeskiing. He does what he loves and doesn't give a shit what anyone thinks. Gotta respect that. He's passionate about skiing and thats all that really matters. Not to mention he was one of the guys who pretty much put freeskiing on the map.
 
Anybody else feel like THall is the Jersey Shore of Pro skiers? I seriously am calling him "The Swituation" from now on. Even the nuggets from the past just deliver more THall retard gold mine shit, gotta love it!
 
Tanner Hall is not a role model for being a respectful kind person. But he is a role model to be a ski boss, he never quits or stops regardless to injury because he doesn't know how, its what makes him an ultimate competitor and champion. He is quite successful in his own respect, after all he is part owner/founder of Armada one of the most successful and influential companies in the freeskiing world.
 
Is skiing really so coorperatized that people are worrying about the image that Tanner puts out for his SPONSORS? Do any of you ski because homeboy looks good in the latest ad or makes x amount of figures on his salary? Drinking, doing whatever, your person image is a personal choice. Tanner is the person he wants to be and that is why it has been so enjoyable for us to watch the crazy ride his life has taken him on. The day when skiing award shows go like the oscars is the day the spirit dies. I get that people have to get money and do whatever in this industry to get by but dont forget that you got into this as a person for person reasons, not as an image or a logo.

That prolly doesnt make sense but hell Tanner is a human and a rad human and I cant stand by while informers and narcs hate on the big man.
