freeskier is deffinatly sick, dont get me wrong but losing freeze is still losing a big part of this sport. besides, two magazines are better than one right?

what i've found to be the down fall of freeskeir is they hipe the cover storys way to much, they create an expectation that can not be matched by the article nor the pictures that accompany(sp) it. They articles tend to be (not only short) but boring and lack of content along with errors in grammer and sentence structure.

Plus they always use the same Chevy ad, they had that one of the guy sitting in front of his truck with no snow around him, tuning his skis. They had that running over two seperate seasons.

 
with freeze leaving this is freeskier oppertunity to spet it up HUGE and spend a little extra cash to go the distance, if they don;t there dumb for not taking oppertnity of this situation, cause if they really put it together, they are and will be skiing;s indepedent major freeskiing magazine with way more readers than they have now. Be core, lots of content, good story's lots of articles, keep the pics at the same level and you have the best mag now in the industry, i'll be waiting freeskier.

they also didn't have a 4frnt ad untill i think there last issue last season where 4frnt has even been in powder from the 2002-2003 season.

Oh, by the way... Check out Matt Harvey's new www.freeskier.com design! It's only been up for a week, but it's pretty sick. You can definitely tell it's his work, and he says it should be sweeet after a couple months of polishing it up.

yeah i think all of us people who say what a magazine should have should steal photos, make cool bullshit articles pretty it up with photoshop and then distribute on the net, to keep skiing new and how we want it. Im totally sure i could do as well as those mags

 
aclsarescary, Freeskier's 'grammer' and sentence structure are better than anything Freeze has ever written. Freeze was a great read, but an unprofessional job compared to Freeskier.

And, uh, as far as that Chevy ad- it's because of things like that that Freeskier is still printing and Freeze is going under.

the pic on the cover alone should give you some insight as to how great the december issue is. no one really uses sequences on the cover, let alone a switch butter olie onto an urban rail. it kind of sums up how much this sport has progressed.

gah, thanks for putting that kid back in his place. I've always loved Freeskier, they give the girls, and people like Rex Thomas the recognition they deserve, instead of only covering the rockstars of the sport.

uh, freeskier is pretty lame so far. Especially with the stupid colorado insert that is in every one. I know it helps make money, but fuck, it's annoying.

I imagine that freeze isn't just going to give up, they will start up from the bottom again and kill all other ski mags.

unlike freeskier, freeze didn't have an heir to billions of dollars as an editor-in-chief. It's much easier to justify slim profit margins to your dad than to a corporation like Time Warner.

freeskier is really well written. freeze wasnt as good in terms of writing, but it had good content, and it was funny, but freeskier has very good content as well

my point about the chevy ad was not about being core, it was to express my point that the magazine tends to be boring...the ads in the past did not change and so that added to the magazine being a 'quick' read. Transworld has chevy ads, but they change every month. I take back what I said about there grammer. But I dislike freeze more than Freeskier. I only read powder so its all good.

I think Freeskier has a good thing going and it will definetly keep getting better.

 
I was very excited when I got the new Freeskier because it's... big. It's really like, big. I mean, it's bigger than most magazines. Plus, it's of a larger size than many ski publications on the market. Physically, its massivity is challenged by none. It dominates, really, when it comes to being beastly huge. I really think it couldn't be bigger. Well it could, but you know what I mean. It's bigger than most... that's what she said. har. But it's really nice and big and I definitely like that about it because it allows for large rpictures and physical stability and torsion control around corners and on slick roads. Should be great on the mountain roads, come ski season.
