i have to summarize each ammendment from 1-7. i did 1-5 in class so far and now im left with 6 and 7 and i dont really understand it and i need some help.

6th Amendment

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a

speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district

wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have

been previously ascertained by law; and to be informed of the nature

and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses

against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his

favor; and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense.

7th Amendment

In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed

twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved; and no

fact, tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re- examined in any court of

the United States than according to the rules of the common law.

6 means you cant sit in prison for years waiting for a trial and 7 means if someone sues you for more then 20 dollars it can be taken to court. i think

7 means that when you are dealing with a dispute of more than 20 dollars you have a right to settle that dispute in a small claims court or in larger settlements a trial by jury.

oh, and no double jeopardy, i forgot that.

so like say you got caught with weed but it was legal. and 2 months later there is a law passed that makes it un lawful. they can not re try you for that offense.

just like they cant try oj again for murdering that nice white lady and that guy.

wait till you go to college.

last semester i wrote a 12 page paper about the federalist papers.

and if you know what those are, you know how much that blows.

but, something very important to our history.
