he was against the idea of going into iraq, at least the way george bush went about doing it.

thats in the past. today's reality is that even though it was idiotic to go in there (at least the way bush did), you cannot abandon the troops nor leave iraq in total chaos --> therefore he will 'support' the war now.

these 2 points have remained consistent throughout. end of story.
