If your going to call the ice rink

Having done this many times I have an answer...

you- hi I was wondering if I could get the snow from the zamboni after it shaves the ice

ice rink-alright about what time

(the reason they would say this is because some places dump snow inside so you ahve to make sure that they dont when you are coming. if they dump it outside there should be a pile there but you can call to find out what time they will be doing it so you get more snow)

you- oh around (inser time here)

ice rink-okay well the closest time to that is (inser time here)

you-alright i will be there then.

If it doesnt go that well they may transfer you to the zamboni driver. You ahve to explain to him that you want snow after he shaves the ice and not to dump it inside. Most will drive outside and be good guys and dump in the truck but some are fags about it, and won't so just make sure you ahve all these problems solved.

its just outside in the parking lots at my ice rink i just drive up and shovel it in. never called before... some times they send a guy over to check on us while were doing it. kinda funny.
 
a lot of new rinks and all the rinks in my area have large melting pits. that way they can reuse the water when the zamboni surfaces the ice, during the winter though it becomes harder to melt and they often dump it in the back
 
i'd just call them up and be real nice. in lp they dump it outside in the summer, never heard of melting pits, its a good idea and will help with global warming.
 
yea theres 2 rinks at my town ones at a place where i work unfourtunatly they dump the ice into a big melter thing but the other rink is where i plan on gettin snow from and they just dump it right outside
 
there's only one ice rink even relatively near me (an hours car ride) so i call them up thinking i will set up a rail in that town somewhere guess what they got all pissy with me because they have a melting pit and don't waste money on punks like me ha what a joke.
 
I have a rink 10 min down the road the they dump the shavings outside in the back all the time. I went in mid september when it was still 65 and it looked like it had just snowed 3 feet and had been plowed into a pile. We just load up my truck with snow and session it works so good and is real easy to do. They dont care either its just snow.

Dont drive where your not supposed to tho, ha ha my friend burried his dodge 2500 in a soccer field. it looked dry until he got out there ha ha
