I just saw another thread about butters and the dude tried to chalk up the rise in buttering to how “accessible” that kind of skiing is. That’s not skiing fam. U mine as well grab a foam roller and jump on it sideways and call it ur first rail. And I don’t want your opinion if your account was made after 2016

Zootspace / mill bastards / child labor

Are the big names promoting a more skate style but by no means is it some extraordinary out of the box stuff.

They didn’t invent skating or rock, and sports have been constantly stealing from skating/rock for years upon years.

You think these ski crews are the ones bringing back third eye blind / heavy rock and shoegaze? Give me a fucking break, if you actually went outside and to a concert / involved yourself in the music scene or skate culture you’d realize all of that shit has been growing back within the past few years.
 
Maybe it’s because a lot of you have grown up / live in these bubbles of ski towns and don’t understand that these crews are just ripping off mainstream shit going on in the outside world.

I love all the edits and movies these crews put out, but anyone trying to gate keep this skate style has a big ol pile of shit floating in their skull instead of a brain.

Y’all all late. Skiing never gonna be half as cool as skateboarding or snowboarding. It’s it’s own shit: with that being said when y’all consider GoPros good filming and someone out filming skate style and y’all mad when it’s the most accessible way to film. Keep this shit raw.

we dont all come from rich families with houses at aspen, butters are accessible because you can do them everywhere if i could ski pow i would but we dont have everything like you

also still pretty pissed at skateboarders for stealing the whole "traveling and doing sick shit on wood planks" idea

I can pull up 1,000 snowboard / skate videos that are exactly like zootspace, millbastards or child labor. The only difference being they aren’t on skis.

Stealing styles isn’t bad because everyone does it, and you still have to be creative to pull it off well.

Have you not heard the phrase steal like an artist? It’s a common term in the creative industry that means everything’s been done before, so steal a style and flip it / make it your own so it’s more personal.

They made it their own by simply being on skis. Which isn’t some revolutionary idea.

Don't get it twisted I loved al their movies and think they’re creative / edited well and it’s cool they’re pushing the ski industry this way.

I’m just saying it’s not some revolutionary idea, they’ve stolen the culture from sports close to their industry, so don’t get mad when I also “steal” the skate inspired editing / rock music and put it in my edit.

Im not saying “inspired” because these movies are much closer than just being inspired by their influences. It’s a whole style they’re emulating, so I’m saying “stealing” but in a non malicious way.
