Your teacher is doing you a favor by letting you submit another poem. The weed poem you wrote kinda blows, even for a weed poem.

Doesn't matter that your bro has gone through shit, it's a reference (and obvious admittance) to participating in an illegal activity. Wellness Councilors can't report such a thing unless they believe it to be self harming, but a teacher has the rights of "In Loco Parentis" and is not bound by the same guidelines that a Councilor is.

He obviously wanted everyone to know he smoked pot, including his teacher, because he thinks it makes him look super cool! He then came and posted about it on NS, to show us how cool he is by being a rebel and turning in an assignment where he wrote about pot, which he smokes all the time. Totally fucking awesome, man! Also, I seriously doubt he has gone through "way more than all of us fags will go through in the rest of our lives," as he is a 13 year old punk bitch, just like you.

no matter how he acts in real life, what i know from him he is pretty much in anyones face about it.

and no matter what you might have endured, if you need alcohol or other drugs to cope with it, then youre taking the easy way out.

Again, let me re-iterate the point I was making.

The kid made a bad decision, but he's not an in your face stoner, he just made one bad decision that would make it look like he is.
 
They're not responsible for their actions, but it is at least professionally ethical for them to report something like this. Realize that this doesn't mean that they report any time a student talks about cannabis use etc. It's basically limited to a situation like this or if a teacher catches you smoking at school. Mandatory reporting is more concerned with domestic abuse types of things, but in this situation the teacher could still get in trouble for not reporting this. There is a fine line though. A argumentative paper on legalization would be okay.

Marijuana is criminalized in the US... If a student writes a poem about conducting criminal activity then it would be perfectly understandable for a teacher to be required to report it to the higher authority. It may not be classified as criminal activity in your country, but in the US it is. We are also assuming that this guy goes to a public school which is funded by the state, and Im sure you are well aware that US states are able to have special laws and regulations regarding the school board disciplinary system as well as illegal drug use. I mean, each state pretty much operates like its own country. If anything is fucked up, its america.

this, haha reminds me of my friend. some teacher was talking about how he was such a great nice guy, good student, ect to a class. then a kid laughed and said he smokes a ton of pot. now all his teachers are really disappointed in him, look at him and treat him differently.
 
That's what pisses me off is that smoking weed doesn't change anything about who you are as a person (for the most part) yet people will still look at you/treat you differently for it.

i made a speech on how drugs should be legalized my junior year. But I was in private school and the teachers really dont care, they think its hilarious. i also made speeches on proper tall t layering, how to kick flip on a skateboard and why 40% of our grade should be based on wearing shades during speeches. (yes i understand, i was an idiot but it was fun)
