Ok kiddies.. i plan on moving out west from ontario for next season, not the upcomming on, but the one following (07-08) and plan on working at a resort, i think ski instructing. PLEASE tell me what resort you ride, and if its worth checking out. All info helps.. and is appreciated. Thanks.

ski instructors that make slow technically perfect ski instructor turns

while leading fifteen little kids carving through the park are gay.

Most west coast instructors fit this description. Instructors that rip

are not gay.

I don't live in BC, but my personal favorite mountains in BC are Whistler (obviously), Grouse, and Cypress.

thanks for the help. and to your addition to the post above, i only teach to make money while on the hill. i rip before and after shift.. and its sick..

i ski at manning park. be SURE to check out Lord of the Park 2007 as i believe that it'll probably be held at manning again. manning has a really sick park for the size of the mountain it is (it pretty much occupies an entire chair haha). message hemlockjibber8 for more info on that. we had a 300+ cm base this year for most of the season, and we still had a 275cm base when it closed due to the fact that the insurance ran out.

hemlock valley resort was pretty good until it closed due to the owner being a complete dbag. he didn't complete the necessary upgrades to the mountain and was therefore shut down by the government. it's now for sale on ebay if you'd like to buy it. 6.5 million bucks last time i checked. you never know, it might be open again by the time you get here.

big white is sick, apex would be gorgeous on a powder day (but they don't get many of those there), sun peaks is good, and silver star is pretty kickin too. check out powder king (2 hours north of prince george) if you want an adventure, bring your own bedding (i'm not kidding).

I'm a big sunpeaks fan and as always, try to work at Whistler, 'cause after all, there's always something awsome to ski there. If you can become part of the park crew you also get a very sick green suit.

you're definatley going to like living out west, but dont come to kelowna, its full of hicks and the traffic is bad

my pick is whistler, but if you can't afford that, come to Vernon, Silver Star is pretty sick, and full of freestylers..PLUS you get to meet Sasha C. she's cute.

Whistler is the obvious choice...

I'd consider checking out places like Big White, Apex, Silver Star, the mountains that actually have money and therefore have ridiculous amounts of ridiculous people shredding there... actually, don't go to apex, it's too icy

don't go to manning, you'll want to kill yourself after like, 3 weeks of living with people that make crystal meth in their bathtubs

the capital city is where its at. You should come to Victoria. I ski at Mt. Washington, it's in the middle of vancouver island.

honestly whistler is nice, but everyone goes there and I think its one of thsoe places that would be nice to visit but I would kill all the tourists.

Somewhere like Big White might be a little less touristy.

Alberta has some nice hills in the rockies you might want to consider good skiing but not as big of a skiing destination as whislter.

And as for the person who said they liked Cypress, dont even think about going there my least fav hill ive ever skied.

You can't go wrong with big white or silverstar. They have sick terrain, the ski schools are well developped, good parks, and Vernon and Kelowna are fun cities.

to who ever said maybe try alberta.. umm im only going to be 18.. so i need to be in Bc because the drinking age there is 18. : )

yeah man, you got it mixed up. Its 19 here and 18 in alberta. You should also consider Kicking Horse in Golden. Sick town and Sick mountain.

In-ter-i-or.

Unless you have a lot of money to start out with... then, Whis. Half of Ontario is already in Whis so you'd fit right in.

Shames mountain!!!!!!!!! its in ski movies even. like the hitlist! bring your whole province to shames mountain. my mountain is so poor and owing money it cant afford to close...so you dont have to worry about it going out of business and losing your job as a ski instructor which you would forsure get.

its 18 in alberta and 19 in BC

thats why i went to banff

and id say go to banff

three mountains to choose from

only downer is travelling to work everyday but you get used to it

unless you work at norquay which is right in the town....but thatd be pretty average cuz the mountain is quite shitty

if you wnat to shred clsoe to vancouver tahtn you can go to cypress, grouse or seymore. but seymour doesnt ahve as much money and its fulll of snowboarders. Grouse is the best funded, but its also a tourist spot for asians who come into vancouver, they take up most of the space on the gondola ride up. I would say grouse ahs the best park of the three local mountains. cypress would be the biggest though, wiht the best parking. Whistler would be a dope place to work, you would jsut have to find some accomodations, the price of living there is insane, but a great village and a good night life. Nad if you ahvent been to whislter before, coming form teh ontario hills, you will be in for a very pleasant surpirse.

so you'll be living in vancouver? if yes then i suggest staying in whistler and becoming an instructor there, and not in the city. if you stay in the city then work at grouse, lots of hot girls and its not such a ghetto mtn like seymour

closest mtn is grouse, then seymour, then cypress, then whistler. from downtown vancouver that is...

woops didnt read the whole thing, all of the interior mtns are sick but some are kinda sleepy. i havent been to all but my friends have been to a bunch, the further north you go the more lighter better powder you get...

HOLY SHIT this man is right. If you love ripping steeps and pow this place is heaven. And if you want to get into the BC Kicking Horse has some amazing access.

yo ski at fernie....sweet terrain....resnable park....and sweet powder cant get any better then that....and no crowds in the weekdays, bit busyer on weekends
