Check out Stephen Kellogg and the sixers , they are pretty sick live....go to www.stephenkellogg.com and at the bottom click on the 2nd and 3rd albums on the bottom right hand page and enjoy listening to the next james taylor

His latest CD which is the first icon on hte bottom is ok,however the other 3 Albums you can listen to are more like how they are live
 
very good band they open for O.A.R. in rochester and they played like a rolling stone by bob dylan with O.A.R. to close...and they are opening at thursday in the square soon too
 
on a one to ten scale of jambandish, OAR is a 6. Phish is a 10. Oar has actual lyrics throughout the songs, but also lots of solos all the time, like the sweet Sax ones on City on down.
 
no way OAR doesnt jam unless its live concerts, but it isnt elaborate improvisations, its just some simple guitar chords with a steady baseline and the occasional sax solo

oar sucks for the most part, especially now

they are too poppy
