Hey everybody. I got some vicadin for my broken arm, and today my mom freaked out on me for taking two 500 mili-gram tablets, even though it's recommended that I take one to two tablets. I'm wondering if my mom is just worrying (most likely the case) because she doesn't want me to get high, or if two tablets within an eight hour span would actually be bad for me.

I'm 15, 5'10", and weigh about 140 pounds.

Sparknotes: Would a 1000 mili-gram dose of vicadin be bad for me, or is my mom just worrying for no reason (I think it's the second option). All thanks in advance.

the max you're supposed to take is 1g/dose, or 4g/day.

I've had 750mg vicodin for injuries. you're not going to like get sick and die from 1000mg, but it probably isn't necessary

Nausea, vomiting, constipation, lightheadedness, dizziness, drowsiness, flushing, vision changes, or mental/mood changes may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: slow/irregular breathing, slow/irregular heartbeat, change in the amount of urine. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: impairment or loss of hearing (especially with high doses for long periods). If you do not have liver problems, the adult maximum dose of acetaminophen is 4 grams per day (4000 milligrams). If you take more than the maximum daily amount, it may cause serious (possibly fatal) liver disease. Tell your doctor immediately if you have any of the following symptoms of liver damage: severe nausea, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, stomach pain, extreme fatigue. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

i just got off a bad injury (ACL) you will be fine you will just be a little sleepy and loopy but nothing serious

There not 500mg there 5/500 meaning there only 5mg of the actual drug. So you took 10mg not 1000.

You'll be fine. The reason you're not supposed to take too much is cuz you'll get fucked up. for instance if you took four of those 500 mils you'd be trippin balls cuz vicadin is an opiate just like heroin and opium. but it'll take a lot more than 2 of those to harm you physically.

I've watched guys snort 12 5's in front of me.. I don't think you are gonna have a problem.

youll be fine dude most of what your takin is whats in over the counter pain killers (ex. advil, ib profin, tylenol) just a small percentage of the pill is the hydro part. still your still taking it within the guidlines you were given. tell your mom to cool her jets youll be ok.

Wont hurt you, maybe fk up your liver/kidney(i forget which one it is) if you did it for like ever. I usually take one to three a day for my back

Yeah. I think the only reason my mom was freaking out was because I was at school and I could have gotten kicked out if I was caught with it.

Sweet. I think I can just give my prescription to the school nurse and get it whenever I request it. I'll try that tomorrow.

be careful with doing that.... i did the same thing with some pain meds and when i went to go get some from the nurse she wouldn't let me have any because she thought it was too early to take them.... i was so pissed i was like i counted to make sure that enough time went buy and i'm in a lot or fucking pain so just give me some so she said no you need to come later i just said fine and left... so i went back later and she said that she shouldn't give it to me because its too late in the day and she didn't want me going home all hyped up on drugs..... i wasn't even driving to school for that same reason but NOOO she had to be a bitch

but then again nobody likes our nurse she will give you tums if you have a headache..... no joke

so if your nurse is cool then go ahead
