This was listed in the apple head cult, but i dont think everyone who has a mac on this site is in it. This program is amazing, it takes your itunes music and outputs it in HD. You will be absolutely shocked how much better it makes music sound, i have a 200 watt 2.1 logitec speaker set up and it is amazing how much better it sounds. You can use it as a demo, im not sure about getting a registration code but im working on it, probably through a torrent.

I HIGHLY recommend this for everyone, it makes your mac book speakers sounds louder and better too.

Ok i got my registered but nothing changed so its not even a big deal. PM me if you want to know how.

hmmm well i installed it but i dunno how to run it kuz there's no application for it or anything it jsut said installation complete and asked if i want to run itunes it would close after i hit yes or no (but it didn't crash i dont think just the program quit kuz installation was finished)

Make sure you quit itunes when you start the installation, that same thing happened to me. Then it will open up with itunes as a plugin and if you ever exit its just under "window" drop down on the top bar.

I'm testing it now. I have a soundmax HD audio card and it's damn good anyway but I can definitely notice a difference. It sounds almost as good as my car. I can't compare it very well because when I turn it off it only outputs to 2 speakers instead of all 6.

ill try it but im not sure if itl make a difference because i have a wicked nice soundcard (creative soundblaster xfi) and some amazing speakers (z5500)

This helps the most with online videos

I use to only get 2 channels now I'm getting all 6. This is probably the only reason I'll keep it.

i got it for free haha. its good cause mac laptop speakers suck ass. it works with external speakers and headphones also, so its great to have no matter what type of speakers you have

okay now why do we have to buy it will it just shut down in like 30 days and ill have to go out and buy it because it sounds so good or is it straight

macbooks, yes. but MBP have decent speakers especially the 17 inch. better than you're going to get with most other laptops.

i doubt most people know how to download a torrent tho dude.

with mac's- get Transmission
http://www.transmissionbt.com/

pc's - i use Azerus (sp?) and uTorrent works well too.

download one of the above. install. then when you save the torrent file dont save it click the open with option and use the program you got (transmission, utorrent, azerus, etc.)

Word, i think a good amount of people know whats up but some def don't.

I use azerus for mac it works great, but so does transmission.

I did that, but when I installed it I couldn't find the plugin in that folder they said, and I searched my computer and couldn't find any .plugin file for Iwow. Any body got any help here?

Make sure you have iwow installed already as the demo version. Then, search for the iwow.plugin and find the folder it is in. Then delete that one and replace it with the iwow.plugin from the torrent download and restart itunes and the "demo version - buy now" will disappear from the top of the iwow screen. Remember, iwow is a plugin, not a app, i got confused by that when i was first installing it.

still didn't work. I even copied that plugin and put it in all the plug in folders. Let me restart my computer and get back to you to see what happens then.

It worked after restarting it. Thanks for the sweet find. By the way, you should check out some other cool free programs:

MacJanitor kind of acts like a disk-defrag for macs, (although I've heard you don't need them) it works great, and its super easy to run

There is one thats easily to find that you can delete all these other languages on your mac, it cleans up like 15 gigs on the hard drive, as I really don't need Russian support for my itunes.

I've got one called Istat pro, its a widget that shows all the active proceses, fan speeds, temperatures inside the casing, battery life, and remaining life on the battery due to battery decay. It was great because for a while my fans would run when I would secure empty my trash, and I was always concerned how hot it was getting.

I downloaded a torrent of a program called connect 360, which allows you to use your mac via your wireless network on an xbox 360, it had the serial and everything in it. Instead of lugging my external hard downstairs to watch movies, I just keep it connected to my macbook, and set the video folder on connect 360 to my external.

I go to florida a couple times a year, and we always rent a condo usually in neighborhoods. I use a program called Istumbler to find open wireless networks. It also is nice, because on the day we were leaving we went to a restuarant, and the restuarant had a open network, but it was only shown to computers registered through the restuarant. I started up that program, found the network, was able to access and join it, and found out our flight back to milwaukee got canceled.

And if your ever super bored, sixty force is in my opinion the best N64 emulator for macs. I've used my wired 360 controller as a controller for the n64 games, using some driver on microsofts 360 website. A computer at my school had a ton of games on it, it was windows, I copied all the files onto a jump drive, and they were fully compatible with my computer.

And peer-guardian protects my computer from the RIAA.

I swear, when I'm working if I have the opporotunity to choose which OS I can use, I definitley will use one from apple, as I havent had a single compatability issue from windows to mac, but I've found an abundance of free software for Macs that aren't even offered on computers running windows.

whats this program do exactly? how is it different from just using the airport in your computer already to find networks

to tell you the truth... I thought that made my music sound considerably worse..

I tried it both on my built in powerbook speakers and on a Bose system.. It sounded a bit worse when i turned it on on my powerbook speakers but on the Bose when I turned it on the music went t shit. Crackling, voice distortion.. excessive bass for the songs being played.. and I changed the settings around to try and fix it but that barely helped..

That seems odd, it makes my logitec speaks sound soo nice. Maybe you already have a really good sound card in your computer?

Hahahah this is the biggest bullshit ever. Drop some karma if ya feel me on this one... If you guys knew anything about working in studios and with audio, you would understand the bullshit behind this product. Since most people don't I'll drop some knowledge on your ass. Mainly, what iWow is doing is adding EQ and Compression... which is great, BUT:

1. EQ (equalization) is about turning the volume up or down for particular frequencies which are emitted by your speakers (20hz to 20khz or 20,000hz), this is something you can do on your own with programs as simple as Winamp. iWoW just makes it easy with a bunch of presets... not the "customized" experience they claim since a "customized" experience would require knowledge and understanding of the room and speakers being used in that room. Unless the program has an input system where you setup a microphone at the proper listening position, then it analyzes and adjusts the EQ properly... it is NOT a "customized" listening experience.

2. Compression is one of the worst and best things that ever happened to music. With good taste it can make music sound louder, with bad taste it can make it sound shitty and makes listening more fatiguing to the ears. What does compression do? Exactly what the name suggests, it compresses volume levels. That means that it makes the loud sounds get quieter, and the quieter sounds get louder. Imagine its like the buns on a big mac pressing a burger together... it levels shit out. What happens, is that you lose the "dynamics" of a song... why do you think Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin could get so dramatic and produce so much emotion in their songs?

It was definitely not because the emotional solo vocal line was just as loud as the balls out chorus.

Here's my experiment for you. Use iWow... feel how loud the music is to you. Then turn iWow off, play the same song, and bring up the volume until the music feels just as loud. You will be surprised, but then you'll remember what I've written here... and you will no longer feel surprised.

(Also, music always sounds better when it is louder... this is a scientific fact. Loud music induces more pleasure)

No, it's because he's using decent speakers that don't need a 'crack boost'. Bose > Logitech... though not by much. The reason his sounds worse, is because the Bose provide generally more detailed sound, so he can actually HEAR the distortion caused by compression. I just used the program on Studio Monitors and could FEEL the distortion (I do not use your run of the mill PA speakers, but STUDIO MONITORS with "Mineral Filled Polypropylene Cone" Woofers and "Ferrofluid Cooled Natural Soft Dome Neodymium" Tweeters, yea I know my shit).

Regardless of what you just explained, which i did read, playing my music louder vs playing with iWow the iWow sounds better. I could care less if its not really what it claims, it straight up makes my music sound better and its not just turning it up. I think the fact that itunes doesn't have much of an equalizer makes this plugin so that you actually have a decent EQ. There is much more treble and bass than i can produce purely with itunes and its free. I dunno why you felt you had to write all of that, it was quite pointless.

i have been trying for so long to get this fucking buy now to go away using the instructions provided above. I don't understand what i'm doing wrong, but i simply can't find any folder that has the plug in. If you download the program from the apple page the folder only contains an uninstall icon, no plug in to delete and replace.

OR have you guys just gotten rid of the original and installed in from the torrent version? I'm pretty confused.

Either way i used to be a DJ and i have a mixer with an EQ attached to my comp that i play my music through so maybe i don't really need iWow but it did sound good using both.

Linking EQs and Compression is common in studios... so yea why not. But still, you're adding other shit instead of just EQ my friend. If you had a good hardware compressor I'd say set it a bit under 1:2 and you'll be good off.

okay here is what you do...download your torrent. then go into your macintosh hd; library; audio; plug-ins; HAL

you will see your iWOW.plugin put it in the trash and put in the one from the torrent you downloaded.

got to "window" while itunes is open and it should be in there.

As for people trying to find the iwow folder, the plugin that you replace isn't in that folder, its in a plugin folder for itunes. Just search in your finder for iwow.plugin or whatever it is called and you will find the right folder.
