If you don't like it, get out.

I have a question for you guys:

If I don't like some of the laws our fine country has, should I:

A) stay here and try to change it, or

B) go live in afghanistan?

Recently, upon expressing my displeasure at the fact that being in possession of marijuana is quite illegal for (in my opinion, at least) no good reason, I was informed by one fine young fellow that I should "get the fuck out and move to afghanistan."

Realizing that afghanistan is now a giant heroin farm thanks to the good old US of A, I tried to get my drug addicted ass on the first plane there, but I couldn't find a flight. Unfortunately I'm still here.

I hear they have forests of marijuana ten fucking feet high.

Anyway, what do you guys think? Should I work towards legalizing herb right here in my home country, or should I move to afghanistan? And, in general, do you guys think disagreement and debate is a fundamental part of the way a democratic system works, or have the abolition of slavery, the end of the prohibition, etc. etc. been due to some other mysterious force that has been at work here? Maybe jewish freemason aliens?

I'm curious to hear what everyone's daddy thinks about this issue.

legalizin the herb in the US wont work because it just works differently over there, there is a chance it'll happen in Canada. are you seriously planning on moving to Afghanistan? and yes your right, they do have forest of ten foot high herb.

Hahaha.

Of course he's not being serious. he's pointing out the retardedness of people who say "if you don't like it, then leave."

They fail to forget that the reason this country worked in the past is because of progression to issues.

'Realizing that afghanistan is now a giant heroin farm thanks to the good old US of A'

Are you saying the US grows drugs in Afghanistan? lol

No he is pointing out that now that we got rid of the Taliban the local warlords took over and they are doing the only thing they can to make money: grow opium. The counrie is covered in opium plantations and its a biger problem since we abondoned afganistan for iraq.

And yes I agree with you its not If you dont like america you can get out; its if you dont like america you can fight to change it.

good luck getting there, because I know the dumb fucks that live in this country will never change the law.

Ahaha, this is a great thread... "jewish freemason aliens" and "I'd like to hear what everyones father thinks" Fucking GOLD.

Sarcasim asside, the fact that you're even considering moving for drug culture is pathetic. There are so many more fufilling things in life beyond the next buzz.

But maybe im wrong, ive heard the 'Stan' has some sweet powder lines...you should go!

i just dont get how you could base your whole life on weed alone, its good, but not THAT good...id rather look at the good things america gives rather than the bad, there ARE downsides to smoking pot same as drinking...so they need to find a way to limit it like alchohal, not everyone can just walk around smoking weed all day half retarded, think about how much education would go down

well it's a good thing the talking towel population on NS has stayed to a minimum, or else that advice would be very good advice.

it would never get legalized here..and if it did america would get sooo fucked up, i bet you anything cops would be on duty, while being blazed as fuck

Why would the legalization of marijuana mean that the cops would be like thta. Alcohol is most definately legal and you dont see alot of drunk cops.

You guys completely miss the point... its a microcosm that exemplifies how stupid people can be. People who are like "you should move out of the country" are all idiots. Social and political change comes from the population. Should everyone who doesnt like having Bush in power just move out of the country? Should we round up everyone that dissents for that matter and force them out of our great unilateral nation?

aaahahahaha "I'm curious to hear what everyone's daddy thinks about this issue." That is great, great line.

yea, um, i heard about the ganja forests, and the poppy fields, but are not thier people out therre who will fucking gat you down because you're an infadel and shit, you should get some valmorification done to your identity like in team america, and then smoke yourself silly

Haha, my friend was a very convincing Valmoficized Gary for a Halloween party, I think we offended a lot of people that night...

This guy is one of the few people who understood my post.

To the rest of you who didn't... I'm not a drug addict, I only smoke herb occasionally, and I never tried to move to afghanistan. Even though they do have forests of marijuana.

What I'm saying is that our country is designed to be continually shaped by the people who live in it. From the beginning, that process has been driven by the inevitable fact that people disagree with each other and therefore fight to impose their values on the system. When everyone is involved in this, we end up with laws that reflect the opinion of the majority. It doesn't make everyone happy, and isn't always succesful, but it's a lot better than a system where one person is the "decider" and anyone who doesn't agree with him is told to leave.

So before you tell me I'm a terrorist and should go live in Iraq because I want to make changes to our laws, consider this: telling me to "get out" is completely unamerican. That's what Saddam might have done. In America, the fact that we don't do it that way is, in my opinion, responsible for the fact that we've been so succesful as a country.

I would say "you'll understand when you're older," but that would be a lie because I know plenty of people in college and beyond who still have their heads up their asses. I won't hold it against you personally if you're conservative or whatever, but just please please please get your head around what I said in the last paragraph. It's really important.

all progress toward de-criminalization, proposed fines for small scale cultivation, and fines for possession under 15 grams all went down the shitter with the new government. Several states in the US have better policies than anywhere in canada as of right now.

yeah i know really like..people move to go ski, ppl move to retirement homes in florida, ppl move to whistler cause its the shit but ppl do not move so they can get blazed everyday

make sure you clarify "new government" as in paul martins liberals. don't get it twisted. don't you know how easily led these kids are?
