IF you could show one non skier 1 Video part to show them what skiing is about what would it be?

Im wondering for all you out there who have alot of snowboard, skater or just dumb friends or even just people of the general public, If you could show one Video part to show them how sick freeskiing is and what your sport is all about what would u show them..

Id show them Pep's part from 1242
 
either Mik D in 1242

or Mikey LeBlanc in Burning Bridges, i know its snowboarding but it is a PERFECT segment, good song good mix of urban, back country and a wee it of park.
 
1 video part that shows the whole what teh sport is about to educate people on how sick skiing is.

boyd is having fun when skiing and makes me wannago skiing. For these 2reasons i think he'sa good skier. Skiing is not about skilld, it's about fun.

 
Someone super well-rounded so it shows all aspects.... Pep or Tanner (any movie basically from the last 3-4 years), or maybe Mahre or Vanular from this year's movies.
 
Well Andy's segment this year is where I want to take my skiing, but it does not compleatly show what I like about skiing. he has no park or rails in his segment, I think both are an important part of skiing. I think park jumps and rails are special in ther own way, becuase when they are made well are really fun. Also I am not to into urban rails and prefer park rails. but a good segment would have atleast 2 urbans in it but no more then 5. Well I guess that I just described what I think would be the perfect segment, Why don't we change this thread to what would be the perfect segment in a ski movie that is rider segment based. Mine would be a mix 50/50 mix of what Andy's segment in Ski Porn was, and I guess his segment in Breath and stop was. funy that those are two of my favorit segments ever. with just a little more big mountain, and then 2-5 shots of BC booters and 2-4 shots of Urban.

I was going to say the same segment. (Boyd, session 1242) for the sole reason that everytime i watch it I have a burning desire to go skiing. To a non-skier any good park/all around segment is going to look almost the same. They're not going to notice little differences in grabs and axis's, etc.

In boyds segment its fun, its what skiing is about. If you can sit there and say boyd easly couldnt ski to save his life I have zero respect for you.

The segment was exactly what skiing should be. Its not a sport where we have to look gangster and pretend we're something that we sure as hell aren't to try to impress people. That kind of shit just makes us look dumb.

Boyd's segment was real and that is what draws people to something.
 
This is a great thread. In the past I've shown some of my non-skier friends Tanner and Pep's parts from Session 1242. But I've also showed the Tahoe showdown section from Blizzard of Ahhh's. Ideally, there's a segment somewhere in between those two... maybe in a TGR movie somewhere.
 
for sure peps part in 1242, its so sick. i could watch that part more times repeatedly then i could ever watch of a movie this year.
 
i would say either, boyd in 1242 or olenick in x just cuz they are super fun segments. also, my other choice would be abma in yearbook just because of that insane pitch he drops in the first shot... jaws always drop on that one.
 
You should get your facts right about people before you talk shit Boyd fukin rippes he did some of the best fakie rodeo 7s ever, and he quit skiing casue he got into Coke and fucking MIMI (the hoe from War the date me part with John Springs) Peter olenick is a fag who thinks he black and acts like a fukin 2 year old , But Hes an amazing skier so what ever and has sick style.. so before you open you big fat Seppo mouth..
 
in sick sense there was a part where all the quebec riders did a section called the candain airforce or sumtin. that was sweet.

i was showing someone sammys part from Ski Porn and they walked in when its like all urban. and i was thinking... this is prolly what he thinks skiing is about now, jumping down steps.
 
id show them the opposite of what they picture skiing as.... tight racer in pants and big helmet dodging gates

I would have ot show them either tanner session 1242 or rainville in S6
 
skill isnt all of it but boyd is stupid good at skiing, even if segments were 100% about skill he'd still have some of the best segments
 
hmmm, tough call. I would have to demonstrate remarkable restraint not to show someone one of candide's segments. I think french toast candide would probably take it. there are no segments that show people everything about freeskiing though. think about everything from pierre's absurd cliff hits to some sick urban rail action and everything in between. it will never be possible to show it all in a single video part.
 
That's funny you guys said Pep in 1242 because that is actually what I do, that is the first segment i ever show my friends who dont ski, and they almost always think it rocks. How could you not?
