If you could live anywhere in North America, where would it be?

Pick a city anywhere in North America and explain why you currently enjoy or would like to live there. We can include Mexico if you want, but mostly Canadian and American cities

.

I am thinking of planning a trip and want to see more of my continent and want to hear why YOUR city would make a good travel destination.

Obviously the choices are quite subjective so keep your stereotypical and negative comments to yourself.

Thanks!

vancouver.

whistler is sick. seattle is close. its canada. OR is close too and CA aint that far either. west for life

Northern Vancouver, because your mom lives there and i want to have wild sex sprees with her all damn day son..... fap fap fap fap

Or or or

Cleveland, because there use to be industry there, watching all the poor people wait for buses, and they have 2 buildings

I don't think by knowing where people wanna live is a good basis for a vacation. Living somewhere and planning a trip to somewhere are two completely different things. I choose Cleveland, OH. Because I already live there and it's the tits. Except I would build some mountains.

Yeah I hear where you're coming from

but i'm looking for subtleties like "oh the mountains are great in Vancouver" or "the skimming in Oregon is sweet"

something that will act as an incentive to go visit...

get my drift?

in the middle of nowhere somewhere in the rockies with property running up the side of a mountain.

10/10 for you for saying Vernon is sick. i can honestly say i cant think of to many places that i would rtaher live then right here in Vernon, such an awesome area

park city

vancouver/whistler/that area.

in all honesty, i dont understand why anyone would want to live more than 0-30 minutes away from a ski hill.

truckee, ca because i know a lot of people there and its 20 mins from squaw

I am going to answer the thread title and not the OP. Where would you LIVE in North America.

Well since living is dependent on having a job my choices are pretty limited, at least for the time being. So people in my major got jobs in Houston, Anchorage, Bakersfield, LA, Tulsa, Midland TX, Louisiana, Bags/Casper WY, Minot ND, Western Slope CO, and Denver.

So out of that Anchorage would be cool for one summer maybe, the winter would be brutal so fuck that. LA would also be pretty cool but very expensive and crowded. So I would have to go with Denver, which is where I live now. I like Denver because is has a nice compact down town and good public transportation which is getting better. About 1-2 hrs from skiing but recently traffic has been so terrible that if I am going to ski I will go up the night before or leave Monday morning. Day trip skiing you run the risk of 3-5 hrs of traffic and I fucking hate it. I just bought a house in 5 points which when I was growing up was considered the worst area in Denver, but there is a pretty aggressive urban renewal program going on out there, which is another reason I like Denver, because it is constantly getting better and housing prices held during the recession. Plus it is beautiful and the weather is awesome.

If I could live anywhere in the US regardless of job situation I would live on Lake Austin, or Lake Havasu for the summer and I would live in Steamboat in the winter. If you exclude the US I would live in Playa Del Carmen Mexico in the summer and Whistler in the Winter. If I win the lottery this is what I will be doing.

Anywhere where I can ski everyday live comfortably without worry and have it be not like a city but not in the middle of nowhere like a suburb

I cant believe nobody has said nyc yet. Awesome city, I love being there every weekend, would be even be better if I could move there.

Probably Park City, Utah.
No smog to deal with in comparison to SLC. You have roughly 20,000 acres of lift serviced terrain within an hour of you. SLC provides you with tons of industries to work for.
If I was to consider a more lush area to live in I would probably pick Vancouver, but I think its roughly a 2 hour drive to Whistler from Vancouver so meh

Buffalo, NY...kidding!

I have been to British Columbia when I was young. Amazing city and wanna go back for the area (Vancouver, Seattle B.C. all nearby. 3 of the sickest cities on earth)
