yea, its a waste of 3 hours and $20, and is run by retards and the judging sucks and the jump is tiny and shitty, and you have to hike... it may look fun, but its not... however, if you dont trust me and enter it, a few key things to remember if you want to win...

NEVER GRAB - they doc points if you touch your ski

ALWAYS CASE - Dont go big, case by as much as you can

THROW A STRAIGHT UP SPIN - off axis spins are frowned upon..

GO IN STRAIGHT - They take points off for ass first takeoffs

...so if you throw a straight 3, no grab and case... you will make finals and probably win as long as nobody does a straight air no grab and case... that is the ultime trick at the Friday Big Air...

I did it last year and got kicked out. I was way outta my league with more corcked 3, 5 true tail, and 7 safety compared to this kid and his fly as hell "flow-deo" 5 and 7. So for shits and giggles i did a big superman front flip and got the boot for going "inverted". Kids on boards were doing rodeos and misty flips and skiers doing rodeos and dspin and they kicked me out cause my vert was straight. ha! it was fun, i jumped over a snow cat and the little kids ate up the flip so i had fun. Hiking suked but dropping in through a neighborhood was cool. Plus my twenty dollar entry fee got me a sick sprint calling card. shoulda been free, oh well.

no no no, you guys have it all wrong... i want you all to come just to see how horrible it is. the jump is tiny, 25 feet, the judging is horrible, the people who run it suck and o the judging is horrible. but above all else, the judging is horrible...

its formatted as a 45 min jam session with the 4 top skiers/boarders moving onto a one jump final for $300. Did I mention the judging was horrible...

anyway after a few weeks i couldnt take it and quit doing them... but i am just letting u all know whats up

some examples of the judging...

a kid did a straigh 720 no grab (ugly) to case by 5 feet to double eject to crash, a straight 720 no grab to case and barely land and a straight 900 no grab and barelly cleared

and got in, beating a kid who...

did switch cork 7 true tail, and switch cork 9 true tail (the jam closed right before he dropped in for his 3rd jump)

another example...

a kid who did 3 cork 9 no grabs (really ugly) got in, whereas...

a kid who did a perfect right side 7, cab 7 true tail and cab 9 mute....

so yea i am done, but if you guys want to do it next year, make sure to case, not grab, and throw a straight, upright spin, and make it look ugly and if u do all that u will win...

that sucks, but fuck competitions in general. i am over that shit and just ski to have fun. competitions shouldn't be what measures who is the best skier.
