fuck yeah dude, no hating on this end! you know you're watching a good trailer when you watch it and want to go push a sport, go and try new shit thats never been done before. there's definitely something with snowboarding like creativity - skiing seems to be tuck in more of a rut. yeah, there's a shitload of new shit being done every year, but i feel like snowboard flicks showcase it alot more.
agreed. too many cab 5's and corks. we need new tricks and we need them now. we need more creative double grabs, rotation patterns, and the combination of the above.
i sorta disagree. I feel that the solution to our creativity problem does not lie in making up new grabs or spins at all; i think we should just ski in crazy places or on previouslly "unskiable" jibs. The I hate NY crew is pushing the limits that way, which is way sicker than a new grab. Cool shit like buttering over backcountry drops, and other such steezy shit is the way to go in my opinion.
I think that some times snow boarders can do things easier based on just having one board...ex in that trailer with the ski rack thing...we could never do that...well i dont think any way...and alot of times snow boarders can ollie higher (from what i have noticed) but i agree with the comment above me saying we need to do more RADICAL stuff like the rails in the I hate NY trailer and stuff...just to push what skiing can do compared to snowboarding...becuase ultimatly i think skiing is an overpowering sport we just dont show it as much. Mainly becuase so many young fag kids today do snowboarding vs skiing, where as my parents brought me up skiing so thats what i did and i was brought into park. and i know that my kids will hopefully ski one day...i will teach them from young park and all
^for sure on the olie. Shit on a snowboard you can straight jump. makes shit like drops and gaps way easier/ bigger. I had to watch that again its so sick.
Jesus christ, i only wish that skiing movies could be 1/3 as awxome as that. That nollie off the huge clip near the end was ridiculous, all the shots had a unique look and the follow cam through bc and off cliffs was soooo radical. I also agree that skiing should progress in a way of more creative jumps, rails and everything inbetween, not spinning faster or grabbing differently.
skiing and snowboarding need to get out of the backcountry and urban rail in my opinion. You can make a rail however you want in th epark . so why go looking for one elsewhere? same with kickers. Face it u could make more interesting elements than what is goign to be found...
I disagree, then everything becomes the same, ithink park shots are much less interesting. Shooting in the bc brings a whole nother element, i think it should stay there. There are so many unique natural features that look wayyyy sicker than that same old boring jump in the park. I think it would just get repetetive if you had 8 riders sessioning the same features the whole movie.
