and my shop wont bend my brakes, would it be possible to simply pull them apart in order to fit over the ski? ski is 91 waist.

like so

keep in mind i'm not techinal saavy, so all that taking apart/bending might be a little too much for my little mind to handle.

I honestly don't see why they wouldn't bend your brakes for you, they may charge you a few bucks but it's really not that dificult for a ski tech to do. People do it all they time.

It's a bad idea...if you don't take them outta the housing you can mess things up in there and bend stuff that shouldn't be bent...if they won't do it, send 'em to me, pay for the return shipping + a few extra bucks for some time (whatever you think it's worth to you) and I'll do it for you.

FKS's are really a bitch. Great binding, complicated brake system that doesnt like bending. Let him ^ do it or look on TGR for a guide.

They arent hard to bend at all, its putting everything back together that can be tricky. I bent mine, and it only took an hour in total.

Pulling the brakes out will seriously mess up your binding. Your best to have them mounted as is, then crank your DIN, put a boot in, and bend with a pipe of some sort.

Like, I was super intimidated to toake mine appart, but in all fact, they are a pretty simple binding. Follow the guide on TGR(you dont need to dis-assemble the entire heel), all you do is pop off the metal base plate, the spring will go flying out, then you pull the brake out, bend, put it back in, put the baseplate back on, then squish the spring between the brake arms.

go down in that thread a little bit you'll see i bent mine that way. its deff easy and works great

The only thing you're risking with that method is cracking your baseplate. Trust me, its alot easier to find a replacement brake than it is to find a replacement baseplate.

Dude I jst looked at that, and your bindings ain't right, that blue tab isn't supposed to be under the plate, it's supposed to be behind. This is a bad method, and I'm not the only one who thinks so.

That happens sometimes when they're not mounted. All you have to do is spin the heel to the side and back again and it'll be in place, it's not a big deal at all.

Yeah, go for that. Just clamp them really tight when you're doing it. I've done a few FKS with the take-them-apart method and it's fine but this way seems a lot quicker and easier. I've talked to the dude on TGR about it and he says it's definitely the way to go - I'm doing my 155s to go on new FS WRS once my Silencers die.

Well yes, but if you didn't know that (assuming he didn't because he took the picture that way) and mounted and cranked it down, you could cause some bad damage.
