I for one couldng give a shit about the fugivites. Pep is my favorite skier and thats sick, but im not gonna go buy them. On the other hand, if people like them for whatever reason then let them buy them. Fuck jumping on badnwagons, do whatever the fuck you want. ^No shit. Kids can buy whatever they want. worry about yourself. I got apair of armadas without demoing them, i guess I 'hopped on the bandwagen'. I really like them i am glad i got them. Not very many peopel can demo skis eather, I never had any chances to demo armada or line, jsut elan and rossignol. I bet %80 of the people who bought armada didnt demo them. lets do a survey....??

Uh...so what skis CAN we buy then? You know what? I can't demo skis because i am from the midwest at a small mt. the only time i get to demo skis are the few times i get to ski at Hood or Whistler. Also, maybe the ski have a good reputation because they are GOOD SKIS! Is it ok to buy skis because they have a good reputation?

demoing skis is a pain in the ass, it takes up valuble skiing time on the hill and u cant really tell how good the ski is anyway because of the lifted heavy shitty demo binding. The bset way to find out about a ski is to try someones that has the same shell size or ask someone for their opinion.

overtime, your statement is crap. How everyone decides on skis is through word of mouth. Sure you can demo skis, but please don't me that people opinions hold no ground. How do you decide what skis to demo? Hmmm, maybe from what you have heard is a good ski? I guess I'm a fucking dumbass for listening to the people at my shop and listening to my friends opinions on certain skis. Even if someone buys skis based on 'hype', how does it affect you in the slightest? It doesn't and if you think you a better skier/person for taking the time demo and decide what is a 'good' ski, good for you, but it doesn't give you the right to attack other people motives for buying a certain pair of skis.

i agree with the idea of demoing skis, but for some of us, it is not a reality. i demoed 1080's and loved them in the park, but thought they sucked on alot of the mountain because of their noodleness.....from DEMOING those, i determined that i needed a stiffer ski. i bought airstyle nt's without demoing them because they were the same dimensionally as the 1080s, and i heard from WORD OF MOUTH that they were pretty damn stiff.

did i make the right choice? maybe.....i like how they ski, but they lack pop, something that might have deterred me from buying them had i demoed them first. does it really matter? no. i just have to pop harder when i hit kickers.

my poimt? it helps to demo skis, and in a perfect world we could all demo every pair and choose by direct performance. in the real world, we can't. so figure out what you DON'T want, then go from there.

don't get a ski just because it's the newest thing. 1080s and scratches were probably the most popular ski when they came out, and everyone probably said how good and great they were without ever skiing them, and now 4frnt and Armada are 'cool' so everyone thinks scratches and 1080s suck even though they are the same ski all the trendy kids wanted a year ago

or maybe it's because of the low price tag, as well as their new technology. people like me who work for their ski equipment like to have quality equipment, and when a sick sounding ski that only costs about 300 comes around, it's a sweet deal. and people like me who live in connecticut can't demo, they don't come around here.

I know a faget who got armadas just cause i got them, after i saved up for them forever, then just asks his dad if he can go to camp, then he signs up with me for high north after i save for 8 months. Theres alot of dick-head psoers out there, just don't label everyone who has quality shit a poser. I saved up for my gear.

why shouldnt people be excited about the fujative? i rode the PE and liked it a lot, and expect the fujative to live up to the standard it set. plus who is to say that the nose/tail press technology doesnt work? dynastary made up that spring thingy for the TM and the first thing people say about it is how poppy it is, so i wouldnt just call it meaningless.

its all about the trend wagon, and if you're on it you're the coolest dopest skier on the hill.

my personal opinion about the public enemy and fujative: k2 is a ski company...what other ski company makes a ski that is supossedly an incredible ski, but can manage to produce it & market it then sell it to the public for such a cheap price. as a business there is no way k2 is not getting their regular profit off of each ski. it must be dirt cheap to make this ski. i know they're made in china where they're paying 13 year olds 25 cents a day to make them and all, but still. i don't trust a ski that a company retails for $375. i know its a great thing for kids who purchase all their own equipment and need something reasonably priced, but i just don't trust that the ski is worth buying. can you just imagine how much that ski costs on shop form or pro-form. the average ski is marked up a hundred percent at least in a shop from the cost a shop pays. you really think a shop is going to bother carrying a ski that they're going to make absolutely nothing in profit off of. its not worth their hassle. that means k2 is selling these dirt cheap and producing them even cheaper.

 
they are selling them for cheap but that doesnt mean its not a good ski. most people who rode the PE liked it, and you dont really hear many things bad about them.

Hahahahaha. The fleece has been pulled over your eyes for a while. If a ski is produced cheaper, it is sold to the retailer for less. The profit margin remains the same. These skis are less expensive because a few people in the mix of things said that there should be a sick yet affordable ski. With the things people do to skis now, you almost need to get a new pair more often than it would be ecconomically viable for many. With the rising cost of lift ticket prices (Aspen: $79...Cascade Wisconsin: $56) and of course gasoline to even get to the mountain, at least money can be saved on the tool you need the most.
