If skiers weren't allowed to go into the park, would you still ski? I personally find snowboarding more fun then regular skiing (I've never skied pow). Would you ski or snowboard?

yes, i love skiing and i only do park when the snow sucks or at night so.. and powder beats the park any day. however back when i lived at a rinky dink little hill with 350 feet of vert no park that i would have issues with

If there were no twin tips, I would probably be snowboarding right now, because about 7-8 years ago, that is what made me stick with skiing.

ya, powder beats park anyday, so id proly do both, keep skiing for powder, but snowboard for park.

i rember like 5 or 6 yeas ago when they didnt allow skiers in the park at toggenburg(syracuse) we used to have to dip under the trees, my friend still has the "snowboarders only in park " banner that we stole.

We never were allowed in the park or pipe back in the day. We would have our tickets clipped, even when the snowboarders were saying it was cool. They liked seeing skiers ride pipe, but management did not. No twins then, but snow was firm enough to land backwards on without worrying. Hell, before they made a park, you couldn't even jump! Tickets were clipped for catching air in the bumps! Things have come a long way.

 
MOGULS!!! remember those things....we used to rip them every day...zipper lining down outer limits at Killy in our rad neon gear....no one wondered about what was missing, we thought it could not get any better...

terrain parks have only been around for a few years...maybe a decade if you count the crappy boarder only parks in the early 90s...

skiing would and should not change if you cant ride park...

 
I snowboarded last year and enjoyed it. Then this year I decided to try twins and LOVED it. But snowboarding is more fun (imo) then rental skis on a little hill.

I would never stop skiing.

At the biggest ski resort in North carolina, they still don't allow skiers in the park. I've poached it which was fun. I would never stop skiing, I don't care what the rules are.

Imagine the ns outcry if u(lateralis) were banned. There would be countless threads and petitions to bring u back, it would be like when treadway got banned from whistler. Someone would probably make and sell 'Free Lateralis' stickers and shit. -j
 
yes, the mountains are over 6,000 in NC, and most of the resorts are at 4000-5500 there are 6 good sized resorts. One is the highest in Eastern North america(5505-beech mountain) one has 1200 vert. Most have verts around 700-800. they get about 80 inches of snow a year and the season is form thanksgiving to late march.

they also have some pretty good parks.

I don't have a park anyways, so it wouldn't really affect me that much, but the only thing it would change is that I wouldn't travel to other mountains.

If I werent allowed in the park, i would start my own resort thats all park...except steep and mogul runs.

I vagley remember the "snowboard park only" it was leaving as i was getting in hit or miss depending what resort you were at . i was young if it was still like that i'd be throwing some fists evey time i whent skiing couldnt stand for that
