If there were no freestyle skiing.....

but if a park was never made then u would never think of hitting urban.

i would probably do both. just to mix it up lol... groomers r so boring though.

well, back in the day before freestyle skiing really existed, i rode a snowboard. it's hard to say what I'd do now....ski technology has changed sooo much because of freestyle skiing. if fs skiing never existed, then skis wouldn't be what they are today, which would probably heavily influence my decision. i sure as hell wouldn't be rocking race skis around all day, so I'd probably hop back on a board.
however, if skis tech remained as it is present day, and the only thing that changed was removing "freestyle skiing", then I'd definitely stay on my skis.

in all honesty, if there wasnt park i wouldnt have the passion that i do, and i probably wouldnt ski more than 5 times a season if that

how could there just NOT be back country??? does it just go away??? and i would still ski and find back country and trees and park!

stupid question is stupid

Ski racing, back when I did it, I loved it. I like what I ski now (BC w/ a little park here and there) far more but I still had a lot of fun racing

Ski. The question is actually harder for me if it were only those two. Skiing is definitely more fun on groomers and no one can argue that it's more fun on bumps. Snowboarding is probably just as fun in the park though and pow is just fun .

^Can I politely ask you to change your username? You are honestly confusing the fuck out of me and it's getting really annoying.

Ski race motherfucker.

Hah - you guys live in a time where there always was this newschool shit. When I was 15 at my home resort, we didn't even have a classic freestyle program... and you weren't allowed to jump even in the bumps.

Only thing I could do on skis was race. Snowboarding came about, and I tried it and hated it.

Hell they even built parks for snowboarders, but since I hated it so much I just skied and prayed for the day when I could hit jumps in the park. All my racer buddies and I used to just hit jumps like at the side of the run and pop rollers and shit like that.

Can you even imagine?

I was I think 19 when they finally let skiers in the park. Did my first 360 that year, then went to High North ski camp the following summer.

That changed everything for me.

When we were your age....
Honestly though, twin tip skis didn't come out until I was 16 or 17. I used just bomb around and ski. I bought the orange 1080s when they came out. It took me two seasons to learn a 360. I still can't spin a seven.

Seeing as all my time would be spent going down boring runs in michigan... i would most likely know how to do both, just out of sheer boredom. and yeah prolly get into racing, or moguls. anything to get the adrenalin pumping

I got my first pair at 13, the first dynastar concept twinboard the red and white ones. I was looking up to guys like Jean-Luc Brassard and Edgar Grupiron in the moguls. The first park at our local center was in 1998 with the first plans from the 3 phils. The first half pipe was built from shovels.

I am keeping up with the kids, but being 23 and trying to beat 14 year old kids without a car in the world, is overwhelming. But you know, without the guys like us, skiing would have never gone forward.
