Im going to go be a hippie in the haight ashbury district, do lsd for days at a time, sing songs in a circle around a bonfire with bongos and a couple of accustic guitars, and rally for peace and stuff. Who wants to come with?
 
Hell nah, I'm gonna buy a gun and set up camp in the wilderness. Interior B.C. would be nice if I could make it out of the country.

TPTB would have developed a contingency plan for people reacting the exact same way the did last time...
 
probably, but I think I am safe because I am on perscription meds, and the army recruiting guy on the phone said that that DQs me, but I dont know if that is for everything or just the navy, but even if I was DQd I would still go be a hippy. I totaly forgot that I was still ineligible when I made this thread, but hey, I would stilll be all for being a hippy
 
If my country needs me, then I'll go. Maybe I don't agree with the war, or any of its causes, but I'd rather it be me than some guy with a family.
 
so thats why they are making us have to have passports to go into canada even on the road. meh, if the illegal mexicans found a way, so could you, but just go to san fransisco, kick it old school, we could have a new grateful dead and everything
 
What if they sent you into a third world country to dislocate a native population so that the country's natural resources could be more effectively stolen?

If Im going to be drafted, Ill enlist in sniper school.

Call of Duty 4, Plus my actual weapons skills would be put to good use.
 
are you kidding me everything this country has given you and you would run like pussies. i guess that iis just the difference in people. and we r not stealing thier oil if we were we would not be paying over $100 a barrel. we hardly get any oil from from iraq we dont even get that much from the middle east, south america my friends!!

But that is not the scenario we are facing.

I would not stand around like a retard and get sent into another Vietnam or Iraq, or get sent of fighting premptive wars against "possible" "threats".

$100 oil just makes the profits higher for the people that are doing the stealing. They don't discriminate. They steal from the American people too.

(Note that the Iraqis have not yet surrendered their oil to transnational corporations, but that is not due to lack of effort on our part.)

ok thank you for helping me prove a point only 22% from the middle east, i am not in any way endorsing the war or saying the draft would be a good thing, but if my country needed me i would not run to canada. everything great that i have is because of the country that i live in, i dont understand why someone would turn on it when it is in need. this is not a preemptive war, it is against a real threat. this is obviousley not the terrorist group that attacked us, but they handle things in the same way, they feel the same way about america, and they have the same if not better weapons. once again i am not supporting this war as it goes on, but i just feel that running to canada is a very cowardly move.

There is nothing more American than standing up against a government you doesn’t believe in. There is nothing more American than having your own beliefs and living by them. If a draft is instituted, what other option do citizens have if they don't believe their country should continue to imperialize the rest of the world for the personal gain of the rich few who run and play ball with the government?

Maybe you've been blinded and haven't noticed the disappearance of so many freedoms in the past few years. Maybe you can't see how terrible a state our education, healthcare, and economy is in. America gets mocked by the rest of the world and it doesn’t matter how many bombs we have, we won't regain the world’s confidence without regaining some moral high horse.

Things have been all down hill for us since we dropped the bomb in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, can you name a war that we've won since WWII?

-North Korea

-Vietnam

-Afghanistan

- Iraq (1)

Not to mention the ill effects of all the proxy wars we've had; Central America, Afghanistan, Africa and the Middle East. In the words of Stephen Lendman "We tread lightly nowhere, and these conflicts left hundreds of thousands dead and immiserated in the name of democracy, humanitarian intervention, and the benefits of western civilization by our method of choice - gun barrels blazing."

We've left 1.2 million Iraqis dead from THIS time around, not to mention the 1.5 million since 1990 and the gulf war. I'm sure you've wrapped your head around nearly 3 million dead bodies all in the name of AMERICA.

Enjoy your self Cowboy; go get a few chalk marks up of your own on the already absurdly large number of American-killed.

As for the rest of us, we've got to clean up our act and figure out how to mature our nation-- these problems have been made for us by our parents, and grandparents (though I love them both dearly) it's going to be our job to clean it all up.

 
i'll give up my dual citizenship for us/canada and move to BC.

probably going to do that anyway, the US is run by psycho x drug addicts right now anyway (bush)

how sweet would it be if there was like a ski platoon, that mobbed around back country areas as a counterstike. just skiing with assault rifles and fully automatic weapons. sick.

I will burn my draft card in front of the white house. We didn't have the draft during the revolutionary war, I don't think we need it now.

but yea, i think i'd go. Just one of those things, they let me be a citizen and give me rights and shit that i might not have elsewhere, i guess if they really needed me, i'd do it in return.

This is why I'm so glad Canada does not have any military force to speak of. It means we can't scamper about the globe and invade other countries in illegitimate wars.

At least I know I'm safe from a draft. I invite any of my American brothers up to the great white north. I have a six-pack o' Molson and the game is on, you're all invited.

Hate to tell you this but we have troops in afganistan right now. Amazing how little we hear about it though. Why? Cause we live in a society controled by media which is manipulated by the government. Canadians in general don't like the idea of our country being at war, and since we live in a democratic society our government doesn't want us to get displeased with it, therefore they keep all that stuff hushed up.

I do prefer Canada to America, but pretty much everything I dislike about America we have got here, just not as bad.

And I would really like to know how the self proclaimed "land of the free" could EVER be in support of a draft? ya you're free but we're taking away your free choice and forcing you to risk your life to defend that freedom because it is at supposedly at risk. Rather than attempt to resolve the issue peacefully we'll just send you out to kill and die at an age we consider too young to drink alcohol. God know's the worlds overpopulated anyways huh?
