If spirit could get one new thing this year......

the one thing id like to see at spirit mountian this year would be a...... nice big battle ship box.....what does anyone else wish they could see there, or does anyone know what they are planing on doing?

i talked to a ladie and she said they're getting a boardercross course and they're gotta switch up the lines of the park for this year. oh and don't forget that danny cass is coming on feb 3 and 4th. ha ill have to stay here that weekend.

hahahahaha! i dunno why, but that was really funny. In response to the question I would say more boxes in general, but i have a bias oppinion because i don't do rails.

some more boxes would be cool...and less "janky" rails would be nice. but theres not alot to change...who dosent love the place.

yeah spirit is sick...i defintly wouldnt change much about it. and for a skier cross course or whatever, that sounds retarded

they need some better built pads for all rails. a trap rail would be fun, boxes should carry goods not be on a ski run, no fun, EXCAVATE PADS AND LANDINGS FOR ALL JUMPS, IN THE GROUND BEFORE SNOW.

One thing I'd like to see is a more dedicated park crew that takes a good amount of time to keep the park fresh.

that is very true David Ballarrrrrrrrrgggggin

I just really wanted to say "Ballarrrrrrrrrgggggin" that is how it is pronounced corret?

i agree with making the final jump less of a step down (step up? that would be sick...), a more dedicated park crew, and bisexual hip, or even just a better straight hip, right or left side.

i think a dragon tail box would be kinda rad and if they made the hip better it is always so damn hard

deffintly need a bigger hip...and yeah showtimes step down is way to huge...they should just make it a longer gap

they def need to make a smooth transition for the wall. and as far as a good hip goes, it's pretty much dependent on the amount of real snow we get, if it's all fake then the groomer can't groom it out (at least that's what he told me). Remember a few years ago when spirit had that huge u-f-d, or was it a big fdf i cant remember, but they should bring that back.

this man speaks the truth, we should all listen to him, that wallride tranny sucked at the begining, but slowly got better, and also kyle told me that they should make the pipe narrower, like 1.5 cat wide, not 2 cat wide

They either need to make the pipe a little closer together or they need to make the pipe steeper. You just seem to lose so much speed in that half pipe.

Im with dave, working on the ski hill, not the stupid snowcross, but hey, we are only customers in monoploized market, really where else can we ski in duluth? So I guess instead of showing apreciation to the people that ski/ride there, they give us the big middle finger, by not trying to open early, or now closing on week days at 8. Why stay open that extra hour, almost everyone has a season pass? I mean they already got my money, so why would spirit waste their money to stay open later, hell they should reduce there hours more to make more money, thats what i would do. Again, screw customer appreciation.

Locals accepted the fact years ago, that thery dont care about anyone. You should too petey. It makes things a lot easier because when they do something good its just that much better and when theyre dicks you already see it coming so its not a shock. All in all, spirit sucks and they should work harder to please freestyle skiers and snowboarders needs more.

we should start bringing shovels out to spirit and just make it nice ourselves. If we had a group of about 10 people working on the jumps, we could at least make them a little bit better than what they are.

I'm with Chris. I'll be surprised if the setup changes much this year or anything much new comes arround. It's just a fact about Spirit. I wouldn't go so far in saying they suck because there is a lot of good stuff that they do but so much of it is the same. SO be ready for much of the same.

I am however, continually talking to the higher ups at spirit to try to mix things up. I'll admit I don't have much say, but some is better than none.

Some rumors or attempts at Spirit for new stuff this year include a beginer park with probably six features. I'm excited for this to help me teach this stuff, but probably not as exciting for everyone else. Continental is buying the features,rails/boxes, so hopefully this will mean they get done sooner than later. Continental was also talking about buying one bigger rail or something for the box. I know some of the ideas they had but don't know if they settled on any, so I'll keep the ideas to myself.

Spirit also was working on a whale tail at the end of the year last year that never got out. So maybe this will be around, but I haven't seen it yet.

that has been my thought for so long!!! there needs to be more options insted of just jump line or rails. Some of the people at spirit know that and I'm trying my best to get that to happen

honestly they like to put up what they like to ride... can't blame them for that, they do a good job with a lot of it. there is some stuff that should change though

so lazy... I'm thinking we will have walk back to the bottom again some time soon, probably just me and you Kyle.

i hope that the street rail will have some sort or roll-in start. If you are sessioning it, it just takes so long to hike from one side of the hill to the other. Not to say i'm not lazy, because i am, but it is more or less a flat run in to hit it. Assuming that it will be in the same spot as last year, i don't think it would be too hard to put a little mound of snow before the rail without being in the way of showtime.
