If snowboarders want war, skiers will give them war.

that guy looked hugely out of control anyway, somebody was going to get hurt either way, it just happened that they were both stipid, so they just both did....

Well the one guy was sketch in the air but you gotta learn somehow not at all his fault that the snowboarder cut right into the landing. Looks like he landed right before hitting him so it probably wasn't even that bad

The Snowboarder just cut into the landing. They shouldn't of been in the park anyway looking at how they were riding.

not that bad. I saw a kid that fell on the knuckle of a jump get his head boardslid this year. Somehow nobody got hurt, because the guy angled the board so the edge would miss the kids neck.

this is just stupid, the skier shouldn't have gone off the jump so much out of control, and the boarder should not have gone right under the landing

This should be on loop on a video screen on the hip of every jump in the park and there should be a big arrow pointing to the screen saying "WATCH DIS BEFORE YOU SLIDE DOWN TEH LANDING" So many cases of this at the local park, and this is my biggest fear....

you say that the skier was out of control but if you're just learning to hit kickers and aren't used to being cut off on the landing im sure you would freak out if you saw this boarder cutting across. admitedly both parties are at fault the skier should have been aware of the punters in the park and waited till they were further downhill and the boarder is just plain stupid for turning into the landing. from what has been shown in this video and having no other context the boarded is almost solely to blame for this.

The best bit was the hysterical screaming....reminds me of the girls I pick up at the bar when they wake up in my rape dungeon

THIS happened to me a week and 4 days ago!!! one of the worst crashes ive ever had. it was about the same size jump but in the trees and completely blind and i landed straddling/bear hugging this 15 year old trying my best not to kill him. it was all i could do, if i hit him sideways i woulda snapped his legs in half.

his friends are 5 ft away shocked with silence, me and the kid layed on the ground for like 3 minutes trying to catch our breath for the window was blasted out of us both from impact. funniest part after we both said we were okay was he apologized to me?! because his friends were building a jump....shit was scary, i thought i killed him or completely broke the kid for a minute

This almost happened to me earlier this year. I came around on a 3 i think and there was just this little kid who had cut in pizzaing down the landing. Somehow I landed like 2 feet behind him, and then like picked him up. So scary to go off a jump and see somebody skiing down the landing because there is basically nothing you can do.

Ok, why the fuck are some of you saying it's both their faults? You've never gone off a booter a little sketch, right? Especially when you spot Joey the zig-zag landing shredder, appear out of nowhere.

The snowboarder went completely off to the side. Should we wait until the park is clear for a 1/4 mile in all directions before dropping? the skier did nothing wrong, you fucking morons.

wait wait wait...what war?

And I'm super glad that filmer was so quick to respond, let alone stay alert and advise other people to stay away from the landings.

Eh. There were clearly a billion gapers coming over the knuckle at that point. just wait a few more seconds to drop for them to clear out, or suffer the consequences of wrecking gapers and probably yourself.

By billion do you mean 2? One of which was long gone before fucktard comes along. Watch it again. At my mountain It's swarming with kids all over the place. I'd be waiting 15 minutes on each hit, and forget about hotlapping.

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt when I see them moving far away from the landing that they have some tiny inkling of common sense to not ignorantly cut back across the landing, and i'll just carve off to the other side.

Fair enough. It looked like more at first glance. Idk most of the time id rather wait for some gapers than risk getting destroyed because i got impatient. Not saying it wasnt the snowboarders fault, just that it seemed avoidable to me.

You are retarded.

The guy landed right when he hit the snowboarder. Do you think "more control" would have gave him the super power to carve in the air?

this is what freeskiing is all about! Mike Douglas' video pitch to Salomon et al back around 1998 was titled "Air Carving".

this thread is awesome though.

earlier this year my friend was hitting the triple line and a little kid went down the landing and he landed on the kid, if i remember correctly the little kid broke both legs, my friend was fine

Seriously, fuck these videos. I've said it before, will say it again here, if a resort wants to have a terrain park, they need to give the park crew the resources to maintain a safe park, and the park crew needs to be responsible for educating its users and punishing the idiots. If it takes more staff, a park pass, a 5 minute safety video, whatever, its not worth having collisions like this.

Again, I really and sadly doubt anything will change until someone is killed. What a wonderful world.

Seriously this, such a lovely world :/

But I couldn't agree more with everything you just posted. Yeah it takes some work and extra money but I mean if it means avoiding things like this than it makes perfect sense.
