IF salomon is such a bad ski y do all of the best pro's use them

I hear u people saying that line is the best ski. How come salomon has a team of all stars. If you look at line they do have good skiers but not as many as salomon. I am not trying to start a fight or anything just wondering.

well, the fact that salomon has $100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 couldn't be 1 reason. Line skis are mostly park skis but for 2003 they are starting to chane and accomidate all mountain. The new salomons arent even that great, just look at Vini, he wouldnt even ride the new skis at the wsi cause he didnt like how they rode, he got in shit from salomon fo the two. Besides what skis best is total preference to the rider.

 
first, salomon has more money to shell out for pros. they can pay their riders enough that they don't want to go to another ski company, and they can also pay riders enough that some will ditch their sponser to go to salomon for a bigger pay check, like candide. also, i don't think you can really say they have the best stars. both line and rossignol have lots of really good skiers as well, as do most of the other companies.

 
yea the team doesnt mean much it is just how much money the company has, vinnie rode the old 1080's and jp liked the 720's better than the 1080's

 
ya.. i saw vinnie riding his pro model at tremblant at the end of the season.. not the new 1080's.. i personally dont like the look of the new ones, or the whole spaceframe idea.. but thats just me.

i think the reason why all the allstars are w/ salomon is because in the beginning salomon was one of the only companies w/ the twin tip and they had to best one, so for guys like cusson, jp, douglas, vinnie, it was the best company. they only took on a few skiers since then (cr, candide, burke, schad). now everyone hates it but the origional newschoolers still havent left

First off, I don't think anyone has ever said that Line makes the best skis. If one did say that, they would be the stupidest person on earth. Line's skis are no good because they are very poor quality. They break very easily, and don't ski for garbage. Salomon has a lot of good riders because they sell the most skis of anyother ski company. Thus, plenty of money to pay the skiers. Make sense? The Salomon is not a bad ski, it's a lot better than any Line ski, that's for damn sure. But it's certainly not the best ski out there either.

 
yes it is all about the money, not the skis and its not like if a pro wears salomon instead of lines he's going to be a lot better, its all about the skiers not the skiis

Petedogg i could not have said that anybetter my self. i agree that salmomon skis are way better that line but they are not the best ski out thier. The best ski is the ski that your riding style fits.

you people need to accept it....salomon skis kick ass...even if they dont have as good of a warrantee as other companies....and the spaceframe technology is amazing....it gives them the ability to make a ski torsionally rigid, but still flex nicely and be very light...i dont see how you could say you dont like the spaceframe, i think what you mean is you dont think it looks pretty, and if you buy skis just so they look pretty, that's sad (p.s. the new salomon line up looks sick)

 
i'll give it to salomon on construction, they are bomber skis, no doubt. but my problem with salomon is how they ski, the skis are too edgy for me, i like a ski that i can ride flat based if i need to, salomon skis are always wanting to be on edge, wich would be fine if i was just learning to carve, but for riding around in the park and on the mountain i prefer a ski that more suits me. that is definatly not salomon.

haha ya wait, and I'm still waiting for them to warenty my skis. Been waitingover a year now to get them back. Fuck that salomon screwed me out of a pair of 10's by not filling the 2 year warenty I had on them. bastards.
