If only I lived in Utah...

You guys have it so good. you have the jiberish vault, the saga warehouse, park city... So anyone wanna go there and run some errands for me? I wanna buy a new Saga suit, but I've heard that they've been having shipping problems and I don't wanna take any chances. I would pay you appropriately, and could even throw in something else you want. Not sure if anyone out there would be willing to do this, but please let me know if you can. thanks.

+k for bumps

well i am glad i still find a way to get black out and never come across any...i must just sit in a locked room then eh mr. smarty pants?

this. i love that everyone thats never lived in utah has these crazy per-conceived notions about salt lake. the same people seem to think that colorado is gods gift to man.. when in all reality, moving to colorado is like dating the ugly twin sister with smaller tits and a flat ass.

saga and park city are cool and all, but shitty beer and mormons and the worst air in america make me wonder why any skier would live there.

did you read? we can get all the beer we want real or not. sure we may have to go to the liquor store to get the "real" beer you are speaking of, but its fucking easy when there are a shit ton of liqour stores around the city. and any comment related to mormons is rediculous. if you don't want to see them you don't. if you are out looking for missionaries they are far and few between. and any moron can go up and get away from the air quality the second you step foot on the mountain...who cares what happens in the valley. its the crossroads of the west what do you exppect. and if you know your ass from your elbow you know you don't get saga and ski at brighton not the buzzard jam that PC is. the end

well you guys are stupid as hell if you dont think mormons have an effect on you in this state. Utah politics is heavily influenced by mormon beliefs, this state is run by mormons for mormons. Also what do you mean who cares what happens in the valley. the valley is where most of us live and its fucking dirty, polluted, and ugly. Smuggs is right i dont know why anybody would spend their life here, the mountains are great but the city has absolutely nothing going for it.

I dont care that its run by mormons for mormons. I get through my day as I should and find my ways to ignore the religious bullshit that surrounds the valley. Yes, I know the air quality is bad...its because of the fucking design of the city...its the biggest town in the country...100% reliable on cars. I live there, i know it sucks...i go skiing and then come home and hit the bong all afternoon to stay out of the shitty air...i am not stupid. There is going to need to be some serious governmental change on the national level before that ever changes. The rail ways that come in and out of SL, UT are rediculous and not to mention salt lake is close to so many places that require things to come to utah before they go there. its unfortunate. and sorry smuggs i didnt realize you were being sarcastic haha. I love utah and salt lake...if you let the mormons bother you that is your problem...

haha this. if you dont move here because youre scared of shitty beer and mormons, youre fucking retarded. they sell full strength beer at liquor stores and full strength hard liquor. there are tons of cool people that live here, and the mountains are a half hour away. and unless you live in a shithole crack den, salt lake isnt half bad. i live in a nice house and my rent is cheap, and almost everywhere id ever need to go is within walking distance.

Hey Colorado:

Low-point beer (3.2%)

Low-point beer, which is often called[by whom?] "three-two beer" or "3 point 2 brew", is beer that contains 3.2% alcohol by weight (equivalent to 4% ABV).

The term "low-point beer" is unique to the United States, where some states limit the sale of beer, but beers of this type are also available in countries (such asSweden and Finland) that tax or otherwise regulate beer according to its alcohol content. In Sweden, beer containing up to 3.5% ABV (called Folköl or "Peoples Beer") may be legally sold in any convenience store to people over 18 years of age, whereas stronger beer may only be sold in state-run liquor stores to people older than 20. In addition, businesses selling food for on-premises consumption do not need an alcohol license to serve 3.5% beer. Virtually all major Swedish brewers, and several international ones, in addition to their full-strength beer, make 3.5% folköl versions as well.

The states of Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Utah permit general establishments such as supermarket chains and convenience stores to sell only low-point beer.[10][11][12][13][14] In these states, all alcoholic beverages containing more than 3.2% alcohol by weight (ABW) must be sold from state-licensed liquor stores. Oklahoma additionally requires that any beverage containing more than 3.2% ABW must be sold at normal room temperature.[15]

Missouri also has a legal classification for low-point beer, which it calls "nonintoxicating beer".[16] Unlike Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Utah, however, Missouri does not limit supermarket chains and convenience stores to selling only low-point beer. Instead, Missouri's alcohol laws permit grocery stores, drug stores, gas stations, and even "general merchandise stores" (a term that Missouri law does not define) to sell any alcoholic beverage;[17]consequently, 3.2% beer is rarely sold in Missouri.

Well I don't know about anyone else.. But I definitly do not go to Utah for there parks when they have the best powder out of anywhere.. Ever

hahaha all i said was that the skiing in utah is sick... this thread wasnt made to discuss if its the best place to live or not. Guess i should be more careful about how i word things...

I live in that same valley and it is not dirty, polluted, or ugly. I live further north out of the lake bottom and that is what makes the difference. Many parts of Utah have the best air quality in the nation.

SLC has had inversions since the beginning, the natives called it the white death. Only one type of people could build a thriving community here, the mormons.

Washington realized how OP the rocky mountain jews were getting so they moved the capitol to filmore (much better air quality), but it was too late. The mormons had already built the most successful community in the intermountain west.

So of course mormons are going to have some influence, they cut the city out of stone and built it themselves. Compared to other cities and states they have done a better job also.

You're going to fail horribly if you try to play the beer game against Colorado. There is a microbrewery every 100 yards and it's home to New Belgium, Odells, Breck Brewery, and countless others.

For total experience, I'll take Colorado. I can find great skiing at both places if I make that priority one, but in almost every other category Utah is lacking.

God this argument gets old.

I am someone who lived in Utah, and then moved to Colorado. The very day my lease was up, I moved back to Utah. I was so damn sick of listening to people talk about "EPIC" 6-inch powder days, and the "totally sweet" parties, which were nothing more than six kids sitting on a couch listening to dubstep and eating shrooms. Screw Colorado. Your mountains are flat, you don't get shit for snow, and the people are un-motivated pieces of shit. Sure, you have a bunch of breweries, but your beer sucks. I'll take a Wasatch Brewery beer every single day over a shitty Boulder beer.

But please, don't listen to me, stay in your own crappy state.

I rather live in UT than CO, I'm probably moving next season and I'll try to find a place either in PC or in the neighborhoods up near the alta snowbird access road, shouldn't have much Mormon influence (not that I really care)

For me it comes down to distance. I live in Minnesota and I plan on moving out to ski after college, don't want to ski bum, and let's face it, for the most part, if you want a decent job, you need to live in some sort of city. So why live in Denver, at least an hour and a half from decent skiing when you can live in slc, 30 minutes from amazing skiing. just my opinion.

OP sucks.

>starts thread about how great Utah would be to live in

>mentions jiberish vault and saga, blah, blah, blah

>doesn't mention the SKIING

>on a skiing website

Everyone is 92348x more concerned with outerwear than actually going skiing. It's laughable.

actually i never talked about how great living in utah would be.. and i did mention skiing. I said it would be sick to be right near all the stores and park city, so you wouldn't have to wait to order shit... nice try though bud

because it's among the cheapest places to live in the country along with multiple resorts within 30 minutes with some that get the driest and most pow in the world... oh and with the most epic mountain biking within 4 hours that's constantly featured in all the mags... minus resort service but lifts are for whimpy pups. i mean other than that... i guess the dog parks are nice.

The amount that some people worship Colorado is astounding. It's only nice if you enjoy skiing 7-mile bunny hills or hearing college douche bags talk about weed strains.

stfu you know what i mean, i was referring to all the ski shit they have compared to lots of other places, I never once said anything about the quality of living.

the whole point of this thread was to find someone that could run errands for me at some stores down there, not to start a debate over utah vs colorado
