Yeh I think allot of people would be down to see it develop into a fully functional game. The only reason I bring it up, is because I am actually a game designer, and recently came into contact with someone who might be able to make it happen.
if you made it thee slightest bit like amped 2 id buy it , pre order it infact. and im not even a gamer. but amped 2 still remains my favourite game, its awesome.
its like i can ski, be a lazy ass, and wreck myself with out pain and never having to leaving my sofa.
a skiing version of amped 2 would be fucking dope. the physics in amped 2 are tight. and the steeze meter! everything is amped 2 is pretty sick, just convert it from knuckledragging to skiing
i think everyone on this site would pay up to 50 at least for a killer ski game with graphics that match amped3 and physics that were as good or better than amped.
Your best bet with a low(no) budget is to try and adapt it to DS-lite or PSP. Full-fledged PS2 or console games require a giant expensive SDK unless you wanna sell only to kids with modchips.
DSlite is easy to develop for... my friend's making an RPG for it in BASIC, haha.
2) if its modchip only, you'll lose at least 90% of your potential buyers. And its illegal to sell software that only works with a modchip as you're circumventing sony's SDK
That would be extremely sick if it was realistic. I would deffinately buy one. You know what im saying though, like no taking your skis off 1620 quad backflip shit
And I think I will probably put a site online with a forum for the game so that you all can give feedback on how it should be built and just what features you'd want to see.
It will take at least a year, if we have to go from scratch, to build the game. If we can use the Jibberish code, it might be quicker, not sure how in depth the code of that game is though.
This will happen one way or another, just give me a week or so to sort it all out and get a site.
Anyone wanna help design a killer site for it? I will pay for the domain and hosting and all that, as well as set up all of it and provide the content.
I am quite serious about making this happen, just heard back from one of our teams coders, he is SO down to help out.
Just keep it to the PC and distribute online. This will leave you with a far bigger budget and you'll make much more money. Also, you can keep all the customisation options that Jibberish has at present.
yeah but you can link up your ps2 or ps3 or xbox or whatever to the interent to download and use all the new grabs and shit thats coming out now so it would be the same. plus, i dont want to clutter up my computer with a gigantic jibberish game.
and i feel playing video games on a console is way less nerdy than on computers.
well if u need a modeler animator im your guy. i had some other plans for 3d work that doug knew about buttt dunno if i got the time haha but this seems like itd be fun to work on, hti me up
sessions would be sooo sick, esp. if you could hike a feature, like in THU where you jump off the board, click off your skis and hike a feature with some friends
I'm almost positive the original makers of the game are on here somewhere http://www.jibberishgame.com/ make a thread or something, and ya amped 2 but skiing would be sick, steezy ones....I'd buy it
Yep. I know of them, nice to see another designer who is down with newschool skiing haha.
And yes I know a game like this would take a while to get platformed, or even developed, however the nice thing about the where the industry is headed, if you do it right from the get go, the later steps kind of fall in place.
And I am not that interested in making money off this, I just want a killer game I can play during the summer and I know mad people out there do to.
id DEFINATELY pay the price of a regular video game + a little more b/c it was of skiing as long as it was legit. give us updates and stuff bro this is sick.
This game has the potential to be sooo fucking awesome. Pick up a bunch of dope sponsors. Get these guys paid and get it working for MACS damnit! I miss Jibberish so much.
