I'm gunna drive to Whistler and beat him to death with his own ski poles. He must have said it 25 times in the span of about 40 minutes. Holy crap that was so fucking annoying. Why don't they get a new announcer. I hate Mike Douglas.
 
anyone lipping the godfather of new school, the guy who invented twin tips for fuck sakes, is obviously posting on the wrong website

mike d grew up skiing on the same mountain as me and he is my role model.. i know this thread is old but it pissed me off so i posted.. what
 
im definately in between on this one...mike d definately has his own unique style and is known by pretty much everyone that skis...but in my opnion he's let it get to his head...my only beef with that name period...
 
my question is why he always has pictures of him screaming in his ads in ski magazines. He also has that in some ski mvoie segments. its wierd.

And they need another commentator along with mike douglas(not davenport).
 
I hate when people hate of Mike. Like when we were at Freshtival, there were these kids infront of me who kept yelling things like, "Douglas is a fag!!" Like where do they get off? Mafuckers have no respect.......

twins were invented in the 30's. K2 made the poacher in 95(I think). Douglas def helped with the 1080 with the video "Air Carving"
 
Your a kook man Mike d is the fucking god father of newschool he invented soo many tricks its not funny Misty flips and dspins included. You calling Mike d out proves how stupid you are this guy was on the canadian national mogul team he started sms mogul camps with John Smart has hasd some of the best video parts ever and this year at almost 40 years old won the biggest back country comp ever the k2 back 9 and hes one of the nicest people you will ever meet have some fucking respect or your gonna get your ass beat down!

while i understand how you might get annoyed with the overuse of a phrase or term in a comp setting - it is a pretty dumb idea to post about it with such overzealous vigor.This is especially the case when the target of your post is the godfather of newschool skiing, and esteemed individual whom a great number of people respect greatly.

I love how they talk about the tricks and then they say "mike douglas knows what hes talking about, he can do all of these tricks and knows how difficult they are." and then i thought to myself wtf i highly doubt mike douglas can do a huge cab7 like lo lo or a dope cab 10 like tj or anyone else there. Correct me if im wrong tho.
 
He did invent twin tip skis. And help form new school skiing into what it is today through the New Canadian Air Force.
 
its better that a fellow skier is calling the shots, as opposed to sal masikala or that retard who was calling last years gravity games, calling a misty five a "dumptruck"
 
sure...buddy might have supposedly invented twins (did he actually...or did somebody else...we need proof here!!)...i just personally dont see why people hail to him...i know a lot of people that can rip shit on moguls, bust misty's everywhere, and do way gnarlier rails than him but they aren't announcers or anything...hes old, hes burning out, and hes definately not one of my favorites...fuck respect and all that shit...my opinion is mine and it stands
 
The guy deserves a bunch of credit and you can't argue that. As far as the commentating goes, he is getting a little old and cheezy. Yes it's good to have a fellow freeskier doing it, But i say let Turpin take over for Mike because that would be some funny shit and he's good at it.
 
He shouldn't be a commentator at xgames, nor should uncle e (if im not mistaken. he comes to the expos here and he just isnt quite in the loop). I have respect for douglas. He has done a lot. But redundant, and quite frankly, dumbed down commentary isn't really appealing...
 
whatever, just because you guys are on newschoolers and follow the sport and already know what every trick is, the other hundreds of thousands of people know nothing about it and mike D makes it understable for them
 
haha fuck man, i know kids that are 10 at my hill that could make it just as understandable and make it way more fun to listen to also...mike needs to be put out of his misery and some fresh blood needs to be put in...does nobody remember danny kampos at freshtival a year or two ago???
 
Mike D is 38 years old and hes still killing the bc harder than 90% of people in the game have some respect yes hes no lolo but hes almost fucking 40

not regarding the fact that this thread is older than the last soccer world cup, i am pretty sure that mike douglas could say "style master" ten times more often in a lot shorter time if he wants to.
