Sorry I have to say this to people who are my own friends but most of you are idiots. When I go into my beloved Utah regional forum all I see is complaining. First off go ski the powder. Those of you complaining about the jumps at PC have no idea what other people ski and progress on like mad. So next time your complaining about a kink or too small think about what others have to ski and realize your idiots for complaining. While you are complaining other kids are pushing themselves and getting real good on sketchy jumps so stop complaining.

ALSO: Utah is having the best season in YEARS none of you should be looking at the park. I bet you could go find a stash of pow anyday this year or something to jump off of into the pow. Theres always bigger things in the BC especially in Utah.

As for me if you know me and want to know how I am doing read: I finished my less then 6 week long season a few days ago. I'm sitting in Mumbai, India which is incredible. I skied 40 days in a row and will post footage teaser later. We had some great days and didn't ski the park very much. There was one good jump in there but other than that the mountain was the place to push myself. I got more comfortable spinning off of natural untracked takeoffs which is important and will be buying a beacon and all that for next year when I get back in 4 months.

Note: Who wants to ski rails and slush jumps with me when I get back? I won't have my license yet so I need kids to ski with so I can ski another 30 or however long the snow lasts days when I get back. So please ski with me in June and July.

i will ride the bird with you son. but you can say what you want about complaining but its such a relative thing, we all are human and as nice and perfect it sounds to just feel like crap, than think of a one legged indian boy in the streets its not always like that. and i know taking a step back and looking from the outside in ur like what the fuck these kids just dont know, but in reality im sure most of us do know, just at times you cant pull yourself out of whatever emotion your feeling at the time.

im tired of going in this forum and seeing everyone say that noone should care about park this year. you guys know what, i would much rather ski a groomed big park then 5ft of fresh pow. i like skiing park and just because its snowing again this year doesnt mean that our "super park" should have two medium sized maybe 40ft to 50ft jumps. And then when people go on the website it says that we have 50,60, and 70ft jumps. Its BULLSHIT! you could at least change the info on the website and not call jonseys a super park anymore. 05/06 was a good snow year and look how much bigger the park was then compared to now. It was even bigger last year when we got like a foot of snow over the entire season. Im even now hearing that the canyons new jumpline will be bigger than jonseys. Hopefully next year they will change the big park back to kings and we will have a big jump line.

Valid point. BUT. You have to take TALENT into perspective. Jumps probably looked and felt a LOT bigger 3 years ago simply because you weren't as experienced as you are now. But Fast forward 3 more years where you have MUCH more skill. In another thread you said "The jumps keep getting smaller and smaller every year" Take a minute and try and realize that it MIGHT not just be the jumps getting smaller, but you talent growing larger. Sorry to attack you like that Nate.

they are getting smaller and smaller every year sam. trust me because i thought that it was me too until i watched 11th hour and saw the jump line and was like why dont they build their jumps like that anymore? I am sorry but the jumps this year are a very large step down. EXCEPT the last one in kings when it was first built. but then a week later they made it tiny. I think that the way skiings going, the jumps should be getting bigger.

however, when i read this rumor that they might change kings back in to the big park, i got very excited. If this does happen they should build an exact replica of keystones big jump line. NICE!!!

They also blew us a quarter of the manmade snow than they did last season. You can't build shit if you don't have the snow. Quit bitching nate. If you're so hard pressed to ride park when it's snowing and complain when theres a shit load of new snow that the park isn't groomed or the park isn't good, on a fucking pow day, then you need to move somewhere else. I used to be gung ho about park shit until I actually got into the industry and there's a hell of a lot more that goes into everything than you think. You try to do shit with a 5 person day crew and a 4 person night crew. Fuck you, stop whining. your quote that you would rather ski park than 5 feet of pow just means you need to live on the east coast. You don't belong here on the west coast. 05/06 was a decent snow year with the big park on the crown. The man in charge has moved the big park to Jonesys. so you work with what youre given. So bitch away, bash park city all you want, but you should probably go somewhere else where you can ski a groomed park on a pow day.

Do you care to know why that jump kept getting smaller? It's your fucking idiot fellow skiers and boarders that love to overshoot the jumps. That was the perfect jump but when we get sued for some fucker that overshoots the jump it wasn't perfect in their eyes because they overshot it. Again, there is more than you'll ever care to know behind the scenes. It's a battle just to keep terrain parks around. Also, keystones big jumps aren't as poppy as ours (from what i've seen). hence one of our jumps may be smaller distance but a poppier lip. And you should really try to stop reading into rumors. you just piss yourself off more everytime you get into one.

And sorry to bitch bitch bitch at you nate, but i'm pretty tired of people saying mammoth this or keystone that. I see the same updates and videos you guys do and I wouldn't go out and build a feature because another resort had it. The 4 jump line in the crown, it was fun, smooth and quick when it started. you had to learn to land your stuff correctly to make the next feature. I loved that idea. But everyone whined and complained. so whatever, i need to get back up to the boneyard to dig some more features out.

Did i ever blame the park CREW? NO. But i just think its bullshit that resort itself had such a good park going and now they just dropped the ball on the whole thing. I also didnt say that i would rather ski park then pow on a pow day. I meant that i would take a good park day over a good pow day anytime. And the fact that when i asked when park city would open up an actuall park in the BEGINING OF JANUARY when colorado resorts were getting their big jumps open.someone told me that i shouldnt care about park because we got a foot of snow a week ago made me so angry. Its called freeriding meaning people can ski whatever they want to ski and if i want to ski a park when we got 3 inches of snow the night before instead of going and getting ankle shots in the trees then i damn well will.

my idiot friends? thanks man real nice. maybe it was just the idiot jump building that left one of my brothers good friends with a broken back. who the hell builds a "60ft jump" with a 20ft long flat landing?

people need to stop bitching about pc. go ride brightons park its a joke the only good things it has is one medium jump and a down lift pole thingy. i am pretty greatful to ride pc this year.

wow everyone sounds mad heated. maybe those jizzing over keystone should get there things and head to the wasteland known as Colorado.

This thread is bothersome. Stop bitching about the Park. Everyone should be really thankful that we have such a fun park, much less someone who gets on here and relates the message. Mike is just one person. He can't be responsible for everything that is park related, and yet he takes the heat for just about anything that goes wrong. He could easily say "fuck off... i'm not taking any of your feedback or giving you any updates on what we're doing". but he doesn't.

When people complain a ton I think it pisses the park people off. A few buddies of mine at another hill are on the park crew, and people bitch and bitch when things are shitty, and never say anything when they're good. I bet you would feel terrible if you put ton of work and effort into something, just to hear people complain constantly. Go to the midwest or east coast and then talk shit about PC's parks. I spent the first 8 years of my skiing life in a park about the length of the pipe. Once you do that, skiing PC isn't too bad, regardless of the conditions. Go learn something on a single feature; you can't tell me that every single feature on the hill is bad. You can hike that flat/down in Pick n shovel for 4 hours and not run out of shit to learn.

And about the 4 pack jumps being too close... I think they were awesome. I just got back from Aspen open where the course is a 4 pack of large jumps. Everyone was bitching about how tight the jumps were and how it was so tough to set up for the next. Because I was used to PC's park, I didn't think they were too bad. If you aren't a pussy the distance between the jumps shouldn't bother you.

Bottom Line: If you ever have something GOOD to say about PC feel free to say it. It won't kill you to show how much you appreciate the park, or the people who are busting their asses to make it an enjoyable place for you to shred.

And yeah.... if you don't like all the fresh snow, endless BC shit, convenience of going to school and living in SLC and still being 45 minutes from skiing... maybe you should move to CO or the east coast.... or better yet go to Indiana for the next 8 years. The attitude and vibe in that park and on it's local forums is day and night compared to this. You're spoiled.

what if i cant go bc skiing? what if im only 14? what if my parents dont drive me to anywhere outside of pc unless theres a contest? what if i dont have a sled? what if i cant drive a car? So since i like park more than powder i should move to indiana?

You're right im spoiled since i am in the utah forum right now and not the colorado one. yeah the utah vibe is so awesome dude. if you like park more than powder youre a fag and everyone calls you gay. you also are required to leave the state if you say you would rather ski a groomed park than ski 5ft of snow. Fuck youre right man, Im so lucky to have such awesome vibes directed toward me!

I think the parks have been great this year. I don't know why you guys keep complaining about it. I bet Keystone and Mammoth have a ton of more guys on the park crew but so what you should be thankful that we even have this nice of a park to ride. Guys like Rich who grew up back east actually appreciate our park because their old "parks" are nothing compared to ours. If you like to ride the park then you should really just enjoy riding any park at all. Go session a rail for awhile I bet you'll forget about the other mountains park.Who cares if there's a jump with an extra 10 feet. Go learn a new trick on the smaller one then when we do get a bigger jump you'll have a lot more fun. I personally have loved this season. We have gotten so much snow this year. Last year people complained about the lack of snow and now we get it you still complain. Seriously there is so much outside the park go ride it. You can't ski park forever so go ski the rest of the mountain and get better. Even if you can only go to PC there is still a bunch of places to get some fresh pow. Even if your riding park skis I know you'll have a bunch of fun. I want to thank Mike for keeping us updated as much as he can. He really takes the blame when people get bummed about the park yet very few people thank him for all the work he does. Plus with all the snow its hard to dig out the features and set them up. Really we take so much for granted. We live in a great place the gets the best snow on earth while people on the east coast barley get anything and yet they still ride hard everyday. Next time you cruise the park and your not satisfied just think about people that live elsewhere who maybe have like 3 rails and maybe a 20ft jump for their park.

Now you have done me over. Nate I seriously love you, but, get out of the fucking park. Buy a beacon, Im more than positive you can afford one, go ski somewhere else. Get to know people with cars. You can always find big big big features outside of resorts.
REASON why I started this thread: I skied at a place this year that had their first park ever, it was a bit beat, half the time they had a box to slide. You kids get too whiny over the PC's park. Trust me, whether the jumps are good or not you have no room to complain. Atleast your seeason didn't get cut to 6 weeks long. Im now in India not skiing and won't till June. I don't have a pair of skis to complain about. Im stoked to be here but you kids are complaining about your jumps when half of the ski resorts in the world don't know what a jump is. Get the fuck over it and learn how to ski the powder. And unless you have all four 10's off the jumps in Joneseys, you still have a long way to progress so get out there and just progress beccause all over the world kids are getting really really good on shitty jumps and when they go to PC your going get showed the fuck up. Go ski the powder you might not have it this deep ever again. Skiing originated in the BC and its the best place to make your name in my opinion. Only the best skiers can handle BC features everyone can hit a park jump and a box.

Yo Nate,

I'm not saying to move. I'm not saying to get out into the BC. I just think you should be be more supportive, and less bitching. And I was going to say the same thing as Willem, but rather than 10's, I was going to say 5's. Until you have all four 5's down in the 4 pack, with multiple grabs, other jumps are necessary. Having huge jumps is fun, but in my opinion aren't even that cool unless you can throw down on them.

Everyone's opinion of fun is different. Some people enjoy doing huge straight airs, and that's it. Some people prefer technicality and doing every trick they can, as steezy as they can on a smaller set up, then moving up. I'm just saying, Kings Crown as it was, was such a good park to learn almost anything you need to, and have as much fun as possible.

Today myself and about 10 friends skied Pick all day, and it was such a fun day on snow. just gotta get creative, and don't expect it to be perfect booters all day every day. Sure PC advertises it, and sure people claim it's the best park in the world, so it's easy to expect that everyday. It's easy to be disappointed. I know I've been disappointed when it's bluebird out and on my only day off work all week I roll up to jonesys and it's closed for a photo shoot. Then I go back down to Kings and make the best of it. When I weigh it out it's about 100 good/happy/fun days at PC, and about 0 days where i'm totally bummed.

Don't move to Indiana. Don't go out in the BC if you're not experienced.

Do be thankful for what you have, and do progress as much as you can on the features that are there for you.

"other jumps AREN'T necessary."

And Park City could very easily just do away with a park. I'm willing to bet it wouldn't be an extremely detrimental hit to their revenue and ticket sales.

And i hate typing so much on the internet. I feel like a loser.... so hopefully my will power will let me stop posting in this thread right meow. peace

I think people are just complaining because Park City's parks seem to have been better "back in the day."  It's still adaquately entertaining, but the jib features have really gone downhill since I first moved out here.

he is stating the score dummy! rich has 78.2 points and the people complaining have -10 points meaning rich is winning the argument.

PS the newly shaped kings is soooooooooo fun!

O I C ! I knew it was a scoreboard, I just couldn't really figure out why Rich has decimals in his score...Perhaps I thought about it too much?

my intuition led me to believe he deserved the .2 had he added a "what now bitches" he would have been awarded the full point.

actually willem there are two flaws to you theory

1. the best way to make a name for yourself is in contests and when the smallest jump in the contest is way bigger than the biggest jump at your resort, your not gonna be the best as far as being prepared goes. yes i know tom and lj are doing well in contests this year but how long have they been training for?

2. the jonseys jumps are not big enough to do a ten and it not look like shit unless you have been doing them for years or have the ability to land way past the end of landing and not die. let alone all 4 tens.

Oootayy, look arguing over the internet is lame so Ill try to limit myself. The things I have seen people do 10's over this year are probably a shit load smaller than what is in Joneseys. If you can get a clean nine which I have seeen plenty of then 10's sure, but really I don't know because Im obviously not there.

Either way your complaining about PC's jumps when there are kids coming from places all over Europe and the East Coast with shitty jumps that are going to kill all contests everywhere because once they go from there jumps and get nice ones they are going to be gold. And whatever sorry you can't do 10s Nate as far as Im concerned you'd be perfectly fine going to Kings and working on all four rotations. The only people who should complain about jumps being too small are the kids winning contests with all four spins. Just go buy a beacon, go into the BC for a day with someone who knows it, build a jump, ski a line whatever, IMO the BC is the best place to be.

i have the wierdest idea..

STOP BITCHING!  it is NOT helping anything and it just makes you all sound like idiots.  Live with what you have cause it is better than what most people on this site have.

i guarentee you at least the last jump in kings is 10able cause i watched my friend LEARN sw 10's on it the other day.

with the new kings you should be satisfied and if you are not then there is just no pleasing you.

Today was so much fun. Definitely one of my most fun days of skiing at PC ever. The new kings is great, and so many kids were throwing down. The only thing I would like differently would be to have that tall double barrel back where the trap box is. That thing was mega fun. other than that, it's great.

PSI saw the steeziest switch 10 on the third jump in the jump line....

yeah doods im sooooooooo fucking pissed snowbirds last jump in the mini park isnt big enough for me to get ready to throw my new trick, its basically a kangaroo flip, but instead of ending it there it goes kang flip to dj flip to underflip. im so bummed i cant get ready for x games at my home park. fuuuuuck.

damn Rich, sounds like i missed out having class today. oh well, plenty more to come.

anyways, I made a thread similar to this in the ohio forums over break when i was home. i was there for just a couple of weeks and read more bitching and hate than ever. i don't remember it ever being that bad when i lived there.

i always thought we didn't have those problems in utah/ utah forums because everyone shreds too much to complain. please let me keep that thought. let's let this thread die, i say, because it too is just bitching. i mean, come on guys.... we can all sit here and say "stop the hate" and everything, but then we turn around and do it. don't consider yourself innocent. actions speak louder than words.

hello fellow nsers,

i would like to apologize about my bitching, i have been in a bad mood for the past couple days from banging of my shins and a bad knee. I skied the new kings today and would like to say that the jumps are much larger then they were when i left to colorado. You guys did a great job on building the 3 jump line in kings. I might have to say those jumps are my favorite jumps you have ever built and if that 2nd jonesys jump wasnt all covered in wet snow like it was when i got up there im sure it would be awesome.

So utah, im sorry for being a little bitch just because i was mad over a stupid thing such as shin bang.

Nate
