Ideas For Snow Trails Terrain Park!

Okay, eveyone has a different idea on what to do in a terrain park. Let us know what we need to do to make it better. The terrain size will not change, so we have to live with what we have, but we can change, add or subtract features. SO let us have it!!!!!

 
down-flat-down (about 35ft), Flat-down box (6-8 inches wide, 15-20ft long), fix the flat-down rail, burn the Y-rail, 2 jumps on skiers right, one about 30 yards up from the one last year, about a 15ft low line, and a 25ft highline...the 2nd jump down where the roller-coaster was, 35ft low line, 45-50ft highline and a potential quarter pipe at the of the park. Skiers left rails, down rail (street style), A-frame, Down-flat-down, flat-down, c-rail, rainbow, pencil. Skiers left, boxes, up-flat, flat-down green, trap box, flat-down box.

not really, there just wont be too much room for gapers and ski patrol. Im sick of that kid ski patrol with the skunk hat. Itll be tight quarters, but well worth it...

our park was so crammed with shit, but it was so fun. i would say make a sick rail line, and maybe a super tech kink rail. a 3 or 4 kink with haggard angles and stuff. and every park needs a really, really big S rail. if it is the worst day possible for skiing, there is always room for an S rail session. You know those icy nights i'm talking about. just hike for hours on end.

yeah, terman has a pretty good layout there. sounds good. some other suggestions:

a LARGE hip (you can go as big or small as you want, maybe make the last jump a hip+ table top)

ever play amped 2? theres a box in i think bear mountain, its a short up, short flat, and LONG down. make that and ill have your babys.

get read of the Y rail (or make one like mad rivers, that one was pretty fun)

get read of the Roller Coaster, or do some serious work to fix it. maybe cut it down, and make it like a roller coaster to lip

a nice curvy S rail, about 3 ft tall. (soo fun)

a wall ride/ quarter pipe this could all be set up near the bottom, a Big wall ride would be sick. i had an idea i shared with mark about a mellow curved wall ride, with a C box on the top. that'd be REALLY sick, but pretty damn hard.

like terman said, mellow out the Downkink a bit.

maybe set up the C rail with Dual apporaches? i dunno, that rail was in a bad spot last year, casue you had to kill all your speed to hit it.

get some of those small boxes out of the park and move them over to the begginer park. that up flat one especially. they are fun, but they take up too much room, and i think that they would fit better in the begginer park.

alrighty, heres just an idea,

but, youd have a starting area thing at the top with a few steps up, nothing big, just like 5 feet tall. there would then be a big snow stair setup, with the flat rail (like last year) and a DFD kink box or rail (either, ive heard alot of people would like it as a skiinny box). on the side, you could start your run with the C rail.

from there, you have a Small Large table, and the A frame and Flat down (with a mellower Downslope if possible)

then, there is a rail table, with the Rainbow, the roller coaster lip rail, and a UP/FLAT/DOWN box, about (10' up, 10' up, 20' down, about 18" to 28" wide)

Then you have the BIG hit. it could be launched all the way as a 50-70 ft table, or as a left side hip. over on skiers left, are a S rail, and the pencil, setup semi down, with a flat lip on. (for butters and stuff) oh yeah, put some skirting on that rail, it needs it. Thes are session rails, and are out of the eay enough to ski around, or incorerate into a line.

then, there would be a big quater pipe, with the first part set up as a wallride, about 15 feet out of the snow or so (something big) , at the end, with a bailout tranny and enough room to easily get the piston bullys out.

oh yeah paint all the rails the same color (more proffesional look to go with the sick park) Graffiti would be sick, too. and we'd set up a slightly bigger begginer park, with the old boxes move over there, and a good setup on the small flat rail for learning tech tricks.

damn chris kid is gettin tech with it ! sick! I think all the rails should be painted chromo key green, so you can get dirty with editing on'em!

OTHER SUGGESTIONS: Glide cam down the park. A huge green screen hung around the trees so we can make it look like we are skiing in outerspace with 3 midgets, 2 giraffes, and 4 747s fiming from both sides with beta cams, and 2 space shuttles follow camming the 747s which are filming the apachee helicopters which are filming tanks follow caming skiers. wait i may have went overboard.... shit....

YOU GUYS NEED A 9 kink rail. a 100 foot hip. and a super 1/4 pipe since its ohio. ummmmmm another 100 foot hip on the other side. and maybe gogo dancers where u drop in for the highline so the last thing on ur mind b4 u go big is some big titties!

oh yeah, another comment, haha, this layout allows you to hit 4-5 features in every run, and the possibility to hit differnt features, not just one set line, yah know, then your able to mix it up a bit more.

and, if things all go right for me, ill be working at trails this winter in park crew, cause im going to OSU mansfield. so ill be helping set everything up.

haha, oh for shure. BMBW builds a sick park.

but its kinda like a higer level thing, but opposite. instead of letting the good riders ride (when they have anything set up remotely decent), they just yell and bitch, and let the park get destroyed by 9 year old ski club kids. see, if you wanna ride the park at BMBW, you gotta have a pass.....

there is no way that we would be able to have any jump bigger than 45 feet simply not enough speed...rail/box count doesn't need to be any higher than 8-9 otherwise its gonna be wayyy too crowded, no matter how much stuff is there, gapers will always flock...the one thing that i am gonna push for is a down flat ledge about 8-10 inches wide, approximately 30 feet long...hip would be possible on paper, but a quarter would never work, we don't have a pipe cutter and without it there would be about 3+ hrs. of shovel work, i have to fix that shit, not you guys so fuck that...thats all i've got

what if u just randomly changed the park llike ever so often take stuff out and put new in to keep us guessing and you couled have mour than 8/9 raills but they just wouldent be on the hill all the time

 
there were nine rails set up last year, that plan has 10, and they dont all need to be set up (like the roller coaster.) either way. a DFD ledge would be sick, and a wall ride would also, and as for a pipe cutter just go pick up BMBWs, theve never used it.

haha, get a tower of power like Snowbird had. or a vertical box like at the orage masters..... it would be fun for a contest at least, because no one would have the advantage because it'd be everyones first time hitting it.

yeah that straight up box would be sick...i was thinkin we should at least do it for a day, i am pretty sure we wouldnt be able to have that set up all year unfortunately.

^ yeah. thats what i meant... only for like a contest or carnival or something. and it should have a landing all the way around... like a cone with the box sticking out.... the Masters one only had a landing on the front, and Candide fell off from really high and bruised his heals. and if there is a landing all teh way around you can go over the top, and pop off the sides 'n shit.

and some sorta multi-kink rail would be great. and if you don't already have a wallride, those are fun. i'd say either get a little one, like the one at PNS, or the little one at mammoth, or make a big, badass permanant one at the bottom. whatever.

one of those step up to flat to step down jumps would be the coolest thing we could get. or a step up flat to gap to rail. i love how those shots look, and you can get so tech on them. what kind of a budget are you guys looking at this year?

when i went to tahoe this year, i got some really cool ideas from northstar and squaw valley...the shit is pretty difficult to explain on this thread, but i will try to draw some stuff up and get with thad or todd or someone to talk about it.
