Ideas for a new ski clothing company

If you really want to business to succeed, don't focus all your attentiion on just a name. A name is essentially worthless without a targeted and directed business plan. Armada and Line are just words, but we buy their products because we like what they stand for and the products they produce. Like what was already said, you could call your company anything, and if you have legit products and good marketing, they will sell. Start by creating a business plan (you can find templates all over the net) and focus on the broad aspects of what you want your company to be. Decide what you want to market, to whom you want to market, and the general direction of your company (ie outerwear, streetwear etc). Think about product line and the function of it. Once you have all this, you will know exactly who you are targetting and a name should be able to flow. Basically this is like writing a thesis, do your research and start developing your thoughts and a name will naturally come to you. Then you can work on creating and marketing your brand.

I have some experience in owning a smalll business, if you need any advice throw me a pm.

that was a good day haha. Not to discourage Mr. Threadmaker, cause I think it's great to see new ski oriented companies pop up, but selling clothing to a limited market like skiers is really not that easy, it's quite difficult to sell to a large market even. But do some research, see if it's a risk your willing to take. If you're feeling entreprenuriish enough google broken arrow screen printing (can't think of the actuall website URL) they do a pretty good job for relatively cheap. figure out how many shirts you think you can sell at a price that will make you a worthwhile profit and go from there. One thing to be said about Tshirts is they're easy to figure out nothing complicated. Best of luck, and the name, although important, is really just a small factor you need to look at alot more than that like how you'll actually move shirts from your house to skiers and how you'll make them want to buy them. and trust me it takes more than a cool name

Honestly, If you're to fucking lazy to come to the table with a bunch of company names, or any designs, than this is a waste of time. Do yourself a favor and put this idea back in the drawer and forget about it. Obviously your creative thought process is lacking, I have no knowledge on your graphic skills but I'm sure they hover somewhere around ms paint and clip art. I'm just saying this so that you save yourself any cash you were going to pour into this shitty idea, and also to save the friends and family who would feel obligated to buy a tacky shirt from you.

Man all you haters really disappoint me. It makes me sad to be apart of newschoolers and even ask. I was just trying to bounce some ideas off you guys and thanks to all who helped me out, But to all the assholes who probably just laughed at this shit, fuck you.

well i dont have a good name.
but if you guys made a heavier/thicker beanie you could name is the heavy head quoted from chug life

actually, fuck you and your stupid unoriginal, done a million times, shitty clothing company. do some fucking research into what it takes to start a company.
but to be nice, here is some actual advice for a name: DON'T name you shit after any stupid fucking trend or dumb slang word. afterbang, steeze, jib, pow, jah love, etc. Its all ridiculously lame. Every single name idea given in this thread has fucking sucked so bad.
As well, skiing related street gear is stupid. Just like every single one of the ns tshirt designs is so fucking pathetic. Afterbang hoodies, full tilt shirts, that shit is garbage. I just wish people could open their eyes and realize how retarded any of this shit is. Your wearing an inside joke between people on an internet forum. Get a fucking life.

someone needs a hug.

but srsly, name it something thats important to you, the name is the LEAST important part. I would wear something made by dickfarm if it looked sick, its all about the clothing, not who makes it

come on man... you didnt bounce any ideas off of us, you asked us to give you ideas. how can you not see this?? sorry not tryin to hate but still...

you should give out some free merch to the person who gets it...rep their name

Yeah In all honesty you and your friends don't have a company at all/ it doesn't seem you have any creative drive to even get it off the ground. It seems to me you guys are trying te become were jiberish may be know "trying to start a ski clothing company," but you don't go about that having other people make your company. If your going to start a clothing company, atleast settle on a name (dont ask us to make one for you), if your at all serious about making clothing I find it VERY hard to belive you have 0 designs as of now, however you do ask us to submit designs of ours. I don't think many people work for free, especially in the clothing industry where you first 2 years are a battle to even see a profit. Im not trying to badmouth you, but I would suggest sitting down with your friends and just get a little more serious and creative about it. You should have atleast a few designs already made, don't ask us what hasn't been done because, A: No one can even answer that questionB: If someone had an idea, they would be much better off doing it themselves than just giving away. You guys should throw together a board meeting or somthing.

Simon and his 2 brothers actually tried spelling all their names backwards and simon's ended up sounding the best so they used that.
