Ideas for a logo? (School project, please help) K+ for answers!

Hi guys, me and a couple of friends just decided to start a new "company" as a project in one of our subjects at school (in Norway): Entrepreneurship (I think it's the same word in the US?)

We've decided to make some kick-ass all-year raincoats with detachable feeding, for youngsters, since it's impossible to find something in the stores today.. There's absolutely a marked for this, with about 250 rainy day a year.

We're now in a face where we'll be needing a logo, we're called "Sludd", which is the norwegian word for Sleet (mixed rain and snow), any ideas, sketches, or anyone who would like to make a logo? :)

We'll also appreciate tips and advice if anyone else have tried this before :)

Logo should embody what you want your company to represent. Ideally you should be able to look at a logo and see not only what type of products they might sell but also the feel of the company, laid back, professional, etc.

I have no idea what kind of logo you should do. Sludd sounds like Mud and I dont like the name so I cant think of anything. Maybe use the fact that Sludd sounds like Mud and play that into your logo....
 
This was done rougher and quicker then a shag in the alley:

take two rain drops and stagger them vertically so the kinda sorta make a negative space "S"

If you want a bigger cleaner file just ask, I made this aboard the train so it's a bit shoddy in places.
 
Ok, so I've talked to the group about the logo today, and apparently they weren't just as excited as me.. They liked the simplicity, but thought the waterdrop looked a bit too much like an O, and not an U.. Any other ideas? :)
 
Thanks! The first sketch is finally done, gonna need some size charts (need help!) and send it to our producers as soon as possible.. We're also in a desperate need of a logo to put in our jackets, want people to remember us, can't just sell them standard.. Hoping to get a prototype in November, and start selling early desember..
 
Hi again guys, dunno if I should make a "Sludd" thread or something, cause this project may bring a lot of questions..

Anyways, a little checkup: We've decided to go with the awesome logo that "nkmo.$" made for us (thanks mate!), but we're really interested anyone could help us make a digital copy of our sketch? It's really hard for us, since we have no computer skills. Hopefully someone who's into graphic design would like to give it a try, and maybe could help us?
 
Whoops, apparantly that isn't the right word for it. Limited language skills u know.. It's like a good inner jacket you can hook on and off. Maybe "lining" is the right word? :)
 
Not the logo, that's all settled. But the jacket itself, we're gonna send it to the produsers and would like the sketch to be computer-made/ animated (or whatever it's called). We have a sketch, but it's drawn by hand at the moment..

I can upload the pictures/send them to anyone interested when they're finished, hopefylly tomorrow!
 
I don't know how good I am, probably shit actually, but send it to me and you can see what you think when I'm done.
