I was thinking something like that, with his initials and the date on the chute. Personally I like having the person in the picture rather than the initials hanging.

no idea how this could work but since parachutes seem to be an issue, what about over the shoilder view of a guy skidiving about to go through a hole in the clouds with the hole being your brothers initials. i know tattoo artists can sketch out some wicked stuff so just a thought

Ok so I made this in word, so it's a bit iffy, but these are some of my favorite lyrics by the band Brand New and I thought they'd be cool to incorporate. What do you think?

Not a bad idea - always consider what type of font you wanna use too, because again with it being small and it aging over time, you don't want script to start to blend together, especially with the date on the bottom, I would consider block for that and maybe something a little more solid for the quote.

This is a good idea, but the layout isn't so good, and that type of font will not look good on a small tattoo after a while.

Have you decided on an area of your body yet?

I'd make sure you go to a very good, reputable tattoo studio that specializes in custom work, make sure its a studio that really really care about giving you the best tattoo possible.

Even if somewhere is really expensive, it's worth it if the quality of work is good, because paying a lot now is worth it.

Thank you so much for your help guys! I really want this to turn out great, so I appreciate all your wisdom. Today someone close to me mentioned that he should be remembered for his life, and not what killed him... Although I don't view skydiving as something that killed my brother, and think it's an amazing sport, I've started to reconsider the parachute idea.

So... I came up with 2 designs incorporating the same lyrics with a bolder font: one with some mountains and one with the same parachute.

I know it's supposed to just randomly come to me one day and I'll know for sure what I want... but I'm feeling the need for some assistance hahah. These are two more designs I came up with and thoughts would be great!

i would be careful in getting a lyric or phrase as a tattoo. i feel like (atleast in my case) i go through real phases with certain lyrics and styles of writing and whatnot, and i just think that after a while I may not love the line the way I used to. obviously if you know you will never tire of these lyrics, go for it, use your own judgement. just my two cents.
