IDEA: An advertisement

To me, it seems like IDEA has caused a lot of people to buy Hellbents or EP Pros. And even just plain old pow skis. Do you think this was planned as sort of an adverisement for K2 and Line. It's a new type of ski and this movie seems to have gotten everyone wanting them. It's a sick movie, none the less.

aright.

why do you think companies sponser athletes? for fun... orrr maybe

because that is their advertising - riders riding their skis.

hence every movie, professional skier a walking advertisement of brands.

personally, i wanted EP's since i first saw them, not when i saw Idea, however, Idea did spark the want even more, and like stated ^^^, sponsors and all that junk is indeed used for advertisement. yet in no way was Idea created to be an advertisment.

every ski movie is like that homie. dont think for one second that LSS and realtime didnt sell like 102947124 pairs of STLs and troublemakers.

and probably plenty of spy soldiers to be sagged so low you wear them on your mouth like ahmet and c-van.

no, what happened was people realized that reverse camber skis are awesome. Yes, some of it was based on hype, but lots of people would have bought them this year anyways.

People will buy from K2 beore other brands because they are a trusted brand. Not too many companies make reverse camber... not too many people have heard of the other ones (moment, praxis, whatever) and not too many people outside of the newschool market trust line.

obviously, as stated above, people get sponsered for a reason.

i think that IDEA has encouraged people to use rockered skis more in the park, maybe so k2 and line can see whether it catches on before the launch a rockered ski for the park, IDEA was used as more of an experiment than anything else in my opinion

I'd imagine it'd be similar to skiing a ski with a shot core. I know my Invaders have next to no camber left after nearly a full season.
