ok yo, i need skis...

ive created probably 300 threads on this topic but this one is final

first off, the 05 fujative... need some input... can it or can it not handle 80 ft+ tables?? id get the 169 cuz im 5"7 135 lbs... or is there a better ski i should be looking at?

also still kinda questioning bindings, s914, rossi/look scratch or p12, s912ti(yuck), i dont want a heavy ass mofo binding, so if there is a binding that is durable and yet somewhat light you should holla.

or just post in the other 7 threads i currently have going on

i second that, youll be centermounted so its like only 5 cm more on each side, you wont even notice it.

core center is balanced in the air and utilizes the flex, so shouldn't i go core center?

fujis are a park specific ski, they need to be centermounted, mine were core center(stupid shop) and i can say that my new centermiounted skis are way more stable.

169 fujatives, are more like 174, so the skis will be taller than me, shouldnt that be stable enough?

core center is back fron centermounted, i think. my firned skis a 178 and is 5'8" and they arent over his head. a 179 will be perfect, youll be kicking yourself later on if you go small.

Look, I don't know why you are taking advice from NS.com right now. Currently you are answering your own questions better than anyone that is replying.

5'7 = 67 inches. Multiply that by 2.54 (cm to an inch) and you, 170! So therefore 169 is the correct length for you! YOu already knew this, so don't listen to the 179 comments. As well, If it is a park specific ski, then it will be made to be mounted in a park-specific area. (probably not exactly center-mount) Go with what you already know, it should work.

armada's run long I think. But you should go with some of those again unless you didn't like them The fuji's worked fine last year, and they'll hold up, but you might want a stiffer ski.

You'd think someone hitting 80 foot tables would know a little more about skis. And know that is all just personal preference.

you would^, but to be honest with you, i dont know much about how soft the fujas are because ive never skiied them

but ive been skiing park w/ screams limited which in my opinion are soft, but i duno compared to fujas/

Get 179s, end of story. And center mount them, even if a skis was at core or center, balence weight changes maybe like 1lb

Just read the sticky. +7.5 core center and +12 is center. He says that center is off the bindings matt so that wouldnt be any good. Core counds good to me

i dont understand why i would want 179 4 inches taller than me, and true center off the binding mat... 12-7.5=4.5 cm 4.5/2.54 which is roughly 1.6-1.7 inches from true center correct?? thats pretty far forward right? my question is in the first place are these skis stable enough, and or are the 06s much difference?

the 06s are stiffer than the 05s by a little bit. If these are gonna be you park skis then you want them centermounted. When i demoed some fujis they were cantermounted. That must be ok if K2 themselves mounted it there, also a lot of pros mount them there.

the reason why I said go 179 is because he wants a ski that is stable at speeds. having that extra length there will def. make them more stable. but whatever if you want a 169 and its a s tall as you go for it. its your money and skis.

Im the same height as you, stop being a pussy, center mount them, they will seem short.

i would go 169 at your height and weight but if your consistently hitting 80ft tables you might want the extra stability. either binding is good.

i can speak personally, that i really regret getting last year's STLs in 177 instead of the longer 183's. it really is all personal preference, but if you're a good skier, you'd be able to handle the 179's. im 5 11 which isnt really that much taller than you so im almost sure you'd be fine with a 179.

plus, since the mounts closer to center, the ski is gonna be in essence a lot shorter. and if youre hitting 80+ foot tables you need all the stability you can get.

SKIS ARE Specifically Designed to be mounted at the factory line.. Any variation from this WILL void your warrenty. dont do what others say just cause they think it is cool.. center mount is for PARK RATS if you want more versatility out of your skis stick with the factory line and get them to fit you (169) if you get a ski too long, you will have no control over it at high speeds and the ski will be hard to initiate turns.

people have made good opinions but when it comes down to it. the people that took the time to write more than a sentence actually took time to think what would be right for you.. not what would be cool for you.

^He said he needs a ski that can clear 80+ ft tables and he weighs next to nothing. Re-do your math bro. There is no way the 169 Fujative will ever pick up enough speed at his weght not to mention if it did go fast enough it would probably explode. Now my question is how did someone get good enough at skiing park to hit "80+" foot tables and still even consider A) This ski, B)169cm, and C) buying a ski based on random NS advice.

My random advice though would be get a stiffer ski that can handle more speed so that you can ski it shorter. If you want to clear big hits and you like the way a 170ish ski feels in the air then you should go for 170 AR5s, 167 Karmas, or new 169 Publics.

What brands void the warrranty if it's mounted away from recommended? Most brands mark mulitple points on the ski now.

you make a good point about the 80ft table thing. but still he only weighs 135lbs and is 5'7". the 169 can easily get him up to speed with proper wax application.

now as for buyin the fugatives. im not so sure that is the ski he is really wanting but to each his own. the PE would be a better choice in that matter. the fugatives are nothign more than a bargin pe with a different flex pattern for ollies.

I still stick by 179 being too long for him.

my 179s were great freeride skis(i think the Pontoons must have got some of their ideas from the narrow tail fat shovel on the fujative)but i struggled with them in the park...got on alot better with 169s esp. for spins. oh and im 5'10 and normally ride 189 pistols/vicious

haha sorry about the 80 ft table thing im kinda exagerrating here, trying to get the point across of a ski preference.
