so ive been hearing a lot of people say that their skullcandy icons break super easy and all the time. i got a pair of the first generation black and silver ones and ive had them for like 2 years and they hadnt broken, ive also put them through hell like stepping and dropping them.

i was wondering if the new ones are cheaper quality or i just lucked out and get a nice pair somehow? what are ur experences newschoolers?
 
it is. but i feel like the OP raises a good question.

perhaps the first bunch of production runs used higher quality materials and then the more recent ones are with less durable materials. totally possible...

 
I feel like it's a valid question, but i still feel there is no need to make a whole thread about it. On the other hand there have been worse...
 
i've had a pair of smokin buds since early june 2010 and they have worked just as well as they day i got them, with average use of maybe and hour and a half everyday
 
i had the orignal icons for 2 seasons and then i had icon2s this year and i think they lasted 3 weeks
 
fuck skull candy the only good pair i had from them was a pair or red low rider. other than that they always shit out on me, like the other day my somewhat new asyms that ive had for 3 weeks and taken perfect care of shorted, i honestly think sony is a better headphone company

ive had mine since i got them at momentum like back in 07 or something, and ya lets just say i havent been careful with them. all that broke was at the top, like at the apex of the curb, so at the top of your head when you put them on, theres a little piece of plastic connecting the 2 plastic arches together, and ya that thing broke. i always have them in the front pocket of my backpack, and i throw it on the ground and shit all the time and all the weight of the bag pretty much falls right on the headphones a lot of times when im not being careful, and ya theyre still working fine
