Ice rink snow in the summer

Is it possible to use ice rink snow in like 70-80 degree temps? I don't know cuz I have no experience with snow in hot weather.

yeah, it's tough.

Me and atlantaski used ice rink snow for urban 2 summers ago. It was prob 90 deg. It melts pretty fast. It's hard to make jumps. I would suggest getting the snow an hour before sundown, and be set up for urban at sundown or before and get shots with sunset and then after the snow will stay better longer cause the sun melts that shit fast too. Since the ground and conrete are also warm, it melts really fast for that too. It's defineately doable. I will do it several times this summer.

it will work but make sure you pack it down as hard as you can than pour water on it than put another layer on and pack that down and it should work ok

Tight I cant wait! I hope their fine with us taking it

Although I dont know what thye would do with it

yeah me, oiecsoi and lineskiah11 took ice shavings from a local rink and did the same thing in like early october i think it was, one truck load(Ford ranger) lasted like a couple hours so if u get a couple truck loads it will probly last a few hours. its def worth it

yeah we did it a bunch in the fall, they dont care at all, we got the guy do dump it right next to our car, he just kind of gives you a funny look. just dont live too far from the rink

if you have a trailer or a big pickup getting snow from ice rinks is amazing. most ice rinks are happy to have people take away their snow because most rinks normally have to pay to get rid of it... a way to make it work even better is to put down carpet as your run in and landing, you can get it from any carpet stores for free. Then just put snow like 2-4 inches thick over the carpet. its really super

around here it only works if its like low 60s because theres never a big enough pile at the rink since it just melts

too heavy, bags will prolly tear, line the trunnk of your car with a tarp and put it in there, that works

one load is usually good for an urban

salt it a little to help pack it, putting a pallets on the concrete then a tarp then snow on top of that helps keep it from melting so fast

Don't listen to what the other kids are saying. I hit a handrail using snow from 10 small kitchen garbage bags. They didn't tear, so as long as you don't over fill them, you will be totally set

back in october, it rained one day. alllll day. next day i head down to the rink, with the honda pilot. fill up 4 garbage bags full of snow and drive it home. dop off. get 4 more bags of snow. lasted a few hours, but a truck helps alotttttt. and if you can take multiple trips it helps

in the summer it would be better just to do it as late as possible

and your going to need to have a loooot of backup snow cuz it will melt real fast

but its worth the effort

in late summer i did it with a full truck-load. It melted completely by the next morning, but it was lasting pretty well for being summer. It packs amazing in the summer too, and sticks to steep drop ins.

summer handrails with ice rink snow is absolutely pointless, rollerblading would be a better approach for hitting the same rail.

summer set ups though...legit. as for the actual question, the answer is rather obvious, you'd totally be able to use the snow it'll just melt faster than it would if it was like 20 degrees colder. just sesh real fast before that shit melts.

yeah ice rink snow is dope for sure just get a truck and fill er up then set it up last a few hours. and def a cure for dying to ski or board

I know what i did was put up a pop up tent that way it was in shade,...the only temp that is sketch is like 90 or above...

well, at my icerink they just put it outside so we can take it whenever we want. but it melt pretty fast.

yeah but I guess what he meant was some icerink dont have place to put it outside or just to let it melt somewhere that the reason, but I doubt people would pay to get rid of ssnow...

my that i ski with, his dad OWNS an ice rink. we take his truck up there and get the whole load during the summmer. that way we have enough that if is melts we can just replace it

searchbarred, and decided to bump an old thread instead of making a new one.

so a truckload or a few garbage can fuls of snow willl work? and ive heard that useing water and soap on some of that green carpet. if i used both togeather willl that work better? and whats the best kind of soap to use? like a powder or dish liquid type soap?

yeah a truck load will be good for a couple hours at a night sesh. astro turf + water is good and astro turf + water + soap is even better. the incline has to be reasonably steep tho. any type of soap will work. soaps are "bases" and all bases have a slippery feel so if your using powdered soap just make sure you water that shit down pretty well

well if its below 80 you should be ok with snow. if you can get snow, definitely go for that, its guaranteed that you will slide well. if you go with astro turf + soap thing, its not always 100% but it sure as hell is better than nothing
